My key did slide into the space where you split apart the back and front of fob to get to the battery compartment. But I was able to use the flat end of the key to go ahead and split it apart...my Toyot RAV4 is a 2022; don't know if this makes a difference. Anyway, I got it done. Thank you. Wonderful instructions. And you don't get scratches on your fob while doing so. Thanks so much.

these fobs are not manually programmable - you will need an automotive locksmith or dealership
