The conquistadores did not follow the Santa Fe Trail, they came from the south on the Camino Real de la Tierra Adentro which started in Mexico City and ended in Santa Fe. The Santa Fe Trail did not come along until 1821, started by traders from Missouri, some three centuries after the Camino Real. The old hostilities mentioned in the narration are still very present even today. Though the Fiesta has been in existence for centuries, many of the practices of the Fiesta began in the 1920's. Zozobra, for example, was the creation of an artist, Will Shuster in the 1920's. Though now very gentrified and not the city it was, Santa Fe is still a place of great beauty, history, incredible food and stunning art. Any time of year Santa Fe is unique and lovely.
This was a Santa Fe before my time. It points to all the places I know. The territorial prison is new to me. I wish the decision to have a University instead of a prison was made. Other than that Great video. Loved it.
I know someone in this film. Near the end a dog pulls a cart w kids our cabin has still photos of that on the kitchen wall ❤️
