Rogers had great insight. I find parallels with what he's saying and eastern spiritual teachings of being the Consciousness observing in non-judgment, or the modern idea of Christ consciousness.
That knowledge is as old as is mankind. Rogers tried to lift knowledge from religions into science. Since contents from the sphere of religion are regarded to be "unscientific" in circles of science and the society that follows it. Inside a society that follows values of "scientificness" there is few acceptance of such contents on one side and - on the other side - few knowledge again how to find out what is knowledge and what is just fooling. Thus we do not know the difference between mysticism and esotericism. Which his therapy is not for sure.
Thank you Bert for putting up this video series. Are there any copyrights to this clip or would it be okay to use a short sample of the sound in a project of mine?
Thank you for putting all four parts of this lecture up on UA-cam. I understand empathy so much more hearing about what it IS from this talk.
Thank you for this resource. Our class is referencing this, as per prof.
