Hi bonesy I love you videos so so so so so so much thanks for every thing you are doing you helped me win my first championship today I won our districts championship 6-0
nawice...curiously enough I tape my sticks like that! not the grip tho...I just put one layer of howie's grip tape. or even the but end, which I have like a some how wide end and then i cover almost half the shaft, and now since my sticks are kinda old i taped the rest of the shaft with shin pad tape...i feel this is like a joke, lol...probably i do the blade like that because my sticks are like 10 years old and falling apart...some times i feel like it sucks not to be able to get cool sticks much sooner. by the way how much are those sticks cost?
Yeah I’ve had sticks that were literally held together by tape back in the foam core days. I’ve even ran tape all the way up the edges of the paddle. But the 9X sticks are up there with top of the line bauer sticks. Something like $270. That’s why I put the twig cover on there to protect it. Really want to make these last 😅
Yeah it’s just a cover that protects the shaft from pucks. The guys at paddle wedge make it. I always breaks my sticks at the shaft so that should help save my sticks from breaking prematurely
Not on any of my sticks. I’ve tried it out on other peoples sticks though. They’re pretty nice though. It’d be cool if they could do custom grips. Would definitely save me a lot of time and tape 😅
That bare spot on the heel is triggering my goalie OCD :-) I always had an unused taped stick in the house as a model for my game sticks. I know,I need help!
Yeah I used to run tape along the bottom too. I feel like forwards have really been breaking the mold with their tape jobs lately. Kinda cool to see the “weird” styles becoming more accepted
@@BonesyTV yeah I used to use the tape that had nylon strips in first. To strengthen then tape. Now the one piece taken over more sticks break and blades wear out faster. I still use aluminum or other two piece sticks. Whatever the game feel is. I use what I feel works in that game. I have a sher-wood one piece. It amazing. Only one I can not find that style. ..being I got it from the Pittsburgh pens. So at times certain sticks or skates or any equipment the pros use some items are hard to find
Thanks! Been trying to think of a creative way to promote my affiliate links and promo code. I’m not very good at stopping mid video to talk about them
I do the same thing. But I use regular candle wax . It doesn’t pick up crud and hair as bad or nearly as bad as stick wax. Stick wax is sticky. The candle wax helps hold the tape on the blade better. Don’t have to tape the blade every game.
Yeah I’ve always had a hard time getting that just right. It could sound fine when I’m editing it all but then when I post it the music is either too loud or the talking parts are too quiet. I’ll get it down one of these days
The in ad, ad. GENIUS! I may steal that idea
Haha thanks. Can’t wait to see what you come up with
Cmon Bonesy.. it’s toe to heel amirite??
We’re breaking the mold baby!! Gotta get those extra passes on the heel just right too (which obviously help me stop more pucks)
Hi guys
I got a add about you and pure hockey that is so cool and a add about you and sense arena
Haha yeah! I had fun putting those together
Hi bonesy I love you videos so so so so so so much thanks for every thing you are doing you helped me win my first championship today I won our districts championship 6-0
I just discovered your channel and as a Nashville fan, i think it's really cool to see a Nashville goalie on UA-cam.
Thanks! Been pretty fun making these videos too

@@BonesyTV well they have a small guaranty don`t they?
Yeah not sure what it is exactly but I’m hoping I can make them both last a whole year!
I've never put tape on the middle of the stick where it is held.
I never did either until I got a couple of Pekka Rinne sticks he used. I was going to take it off but after trying it out I really liked it.
Can you elaborate on the shaft protector thing? I’ve never seen that
Yeah it’s just a cover that protects the shaft from pucks. The guys at paddle wedge make it. I always breaks my sticks at the shaft so that should help save my sticks from breaking prematurely
how do you break sticks, like, is there a movement where it especially happens?
Pucks always hit the shaft above my blocker.
@@BonesyTV good goaltending, thats more than just luck
Have you ever used butends or a similar product on the top of you stick?
Not on any of my sticks. I’ve tried it out on other peoples sticks though. They’re pretty nice though. It’d be cool if they could do custom grips. Would definitely save me a lot of time and tape 😅

Hahaha I get that a lot actually. I could change it up but I love it too much 😂
Haha...Don't ever change😍
I’m a forward I tape my stick weird to everyone as well. The top I add the ribs as well. The blade I run tape on bottom then wrap it. As people do.
Yeah I used to run tape along the bottom too. I feel like forwards have really been breaking the mold with their tape jobs lately. Kinda cool to see the “weird” styles becoming more accepted

I like the way you put a figure 4 hold on the stick in order to tape it up! Haha. That's a crazy amount of work that goes into your tape job!
Gotta wrestle that thing into submission!
@@BonesyTV hahahahaha
What's your thoughts on the 9x? Heard great things but as with past true sticks poor durability
I love mine! Actually pretty impressed with the durability but the one I’ve been using consistently is pretty shot at this point.
I'm very simple. I do use grip tape o the end and shaft. I stopped using those glue on grips.
Yeah? Which one were you using? I still haven’t really tried them yet
@@BonesyTV I've enjoyed the 2S pro si far. Composites don't shoot like the foam core ones do though
Cool beans. Yeah never question why a (goalie) tapes up their stick the way they do. Everyone's got their thing, just leave it be, s'all good.
A lot of the players have some pretty crazy ways of taking their sticks now. Some of them make mine look normal
@@BonesyTV Weird

Yeah I’m really bad about replacing my blade tape regularly
Moving forward. Dont put the music so loud

Why the fake adds
Fer fun
Anyone ever not taped the blade of there stick? Blasphemy I know, but do we do it out of habit or is there science behind it?
I want to say there’s a few guys that don’t tape their stick at all. I know a guy here in town that does it.
