Paul Simon is a gem in the music industry. His songs will live until eternity.
The fact that he is almost 81 & sings better than I ever could; hell, I'm smiling ear to ear.
Simon & Garfunkel & Little Anthony & the Imperials are the musicians of my childhood. Being able to still hear them perform live is so tremendous for me. Thank you for sharing these videos with us.
Jerry Douglas knocks it out of the park, as usual, but that will never get old.
I used to think to think I sucked at playing dobro, but then I realized I was listening to too much Jerry Douglas.
And Diamonds on the soles of her shoes, and America, and Me and Julio. What a brilliant songwriter.
We all will be received in Graceland. Profound. Lasting. Poetry.
Masterclass in songwriting.
Damn he has found his place in the constellations of beauty.
I love it when established legends are showcased by the future ones...
Paul kickin ass at 80 ❤️
Gotta love the legend Jerry Douglas not being bashful (I'd guess ~1000 instrumental credits gives one some confidence) and just laying it down to help make a classic version of the tune, and if only we all could have Paul Simon's energy at 80
No words❤❤❤
Fabulous to see Paul!!! Favorite all time album! Graceland!! God Bless him!!!
Saw him live on his Graceland tour in the UK in early 1990s - 30 years ago! It was fantastic.
One of the best days of my life
Paul Simon contributed many many songs to the GREAT American songbook, but I think the top 3 are Sounds Of Silence, The Boxer, and Graceland
@@ccasey1904 definitely up there, so is Bridge Over Troubled Water and many more. Just my top 3.
What a joy it must be to perform on stage with such a thundering god of Folk! Joyous performance!
Sweet baby Jesus, the sound of that resonator! Perfection.
Bless you Paul for all your great music....keep it rocking
Paul Simon still got it. And ... what a band!
Thank you for sharing these videos. I left the USA in 2014 for Asia and really miss shows and music like this. Brilliant. Thank you, thank you.
Paul sounding like Jesse Winchester here. Rhumba Man Paul with the most excellent Jerry Douglas
"she comes back to tell me she's gone" Carrie ..
I would love to sit and watch the whole thing instead of bits and pieces. This is monumental!
All the grown men on stage blinking like 'it's just the sweat in my eyes'
Wonderful to watch Paul Simon and have loved him for 50 years but can someone tell me why do we never hear the beautiful songs from The Cape man??? Hilary
Came across this again!!! So sweet
Nice to have Jerry Douglas around :)
❤
Amazing. This song is never get old.
Nathaniel: What can I do?
Paul: Dance and clap?
Nathaniel: It would be an honor. Can I sing a bit?
Paul: maybe at the end a bit.
Nathaniel: OK. Can i at least hold my guitar?
Paul: No.
Nathaniel: OK.
😊
Well recorded too. Sadly some of the vids on youtube are so poorly recorded as to be unlistenable despite the great artists seen. This has it all!
He’s definitely going to be received in Graceland. Hopefully not for a good many years
You left out Jerry Douglas (dobro) in the listing of musicians.
Band is playing too loud. Paul is singing a ballad, a solitary singer no match for 6+ guys playing guitars+.
Did Paul have plastic surgery? His face looks odd.
I think he’s just getting old, he’s looked like that for a little while I think
@@MrErsamo so I looked it up and all signs point to yes he did. There isn't any evidence of himself confirming it, but there are side by side pictures and lots of articles about it. I'm not knocking him btw, I just didn't expect him to be the kind of person to get plastic surgery
Why anyone would give a good Goddamn is far beyond me. He's a stellar musician performing for us in his golden years and you go on about plastic surgery? Ridiculous.
@@ChrisLawton66 and yet here you are commenting about it as well instead of just listening lol. Lighten up, bruh. I came here to listen to the song and made a simple comment.
❤
I hope someone assembled this entire Festival into a documentary series - phenomenal arc of sixty years, brought full circle with survivors and new arrivals in a kinship of music that is timeless. Wow.
