Quick team building exercises can really change a work environment to a more positive one in no time! Team building in the workplace is something that every organization needs to accomplish. So, if you want to get your team working together but you’re stumped about where to start, simple team building games are easy to facilitate and I can plan your team building exercises for work, for you! The easy team building games idea that I’ll be sharing in this video will work as team building games for small groups or larger groups.

I loved this exercise! I will definitely be trying this out in the future. It is neat how it is quite a physical exercise as well (wearing the ponchos) and it is something they can keep after. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Adriana, what a creative, fun exercise! Very powerful for team meetings. I also facilitate team meetings for organizations and use a similar exercise. Instead of ponchos, I use stick notes. The feeling people get when they read the positive things others have to say about them is so freeing! Thank you for sharing. Will be checking out more of your videos! And subbing! I did this for my adult ESL students when I taught them adjectives. But it had the same positive effect on each student. They felt really good about themselves and the students got closer. Thank you!

Yes, that was really the easiest way of motivating the people and connecting the team...Yes I tried this in many times in my workshop, as you said it was really cheerful to watch...the real smile of others...they feel great at each other...

Hey I really love this concept of telling people in a team why you appreciate them, I work in Scotland and it's quite different here where we aren't really into telling people how we feel and more reserved (I also work in engineering which is even more difficult to get people to talk about their feelings), is there a more subtle way of doing your poncho flipchart?
Hi Jasmine, I completely understand where you are coming from as I have come from engineering myself.
To start the process you can begin by giving everyone an appreciation card from yourself. This is something personal from you to them and it's important you are confident about it.
When you feel like the team is ready you can do a Round Robin appreciation. So what happens is everyone writes an appreciation card for the person to their right. Everyone takes the time to quietly read their card and then they move on and the key is to not talk about it.
This is a good way to slowly ease the team into eventually doing the poncho exercise.

Hi Adriana, this is terrific, thanks for sharing! Just 1 question: we have 3 new team members (out of 18 people), I am afraid they could not feel "included" doing this activity, as it will be difficult to have someone writing something "on" them. What would you suggest? I was thinking to extend the idea to also "wishes for the future", so that if you don't have nothing to thank for, you can wish him/her something.
