I’m doing the same thing but with a different build. I went: T1 Disc, pyro T2 scrying, wind T3 dreadnought, devastation (mostly for affinity) T4 Crusable, calamity Insane damage. I oneshot most t1 units and some t2.
Scrying is great for Reavers as it gives you two really strong sources of Marks that boosts the damage of Reaver units. Watchers are great that not only marks, stuns but also acts as additional ranged units taking advantage of the marks while being summons. The area mark is good to.
A Mortal Champion Ruler would fit in very well here I feel. Can go magelock on him and get Decisive command allowing for your opening salvo to have 7 magelock shots if you have a full army of them or you can have him as a defender and be the frontline allowing for 6 shots on your opening salvo while he stands there in Defense Mode tanking like a boss and applying marked with retaliation. Cleansing Flame tome seems ridiculously good for this build. Pyre Templars would give you the frontline this build sorely lacks while the fact that they have aoe melee attacks mean higher chance of more debuffs in melee since they cleave which would work well with Vessel of Chaos. Pyre Templars alone would apply Burning, Marked and Stunned from Empowering Strikes while they also will dispel enemy buffs thx to cleansing flames. Will have to choose 2 between Cleansing Flames, Pandemonium and Sanctuary though. If you feel like you dont lack damage Cleansing Flames and Sanctuary for a particularly robust frontline seems the way to go while Cleansing Flame + Pandemonium if you need more damage I think.
I just started game with a champion. I can see two choices for command: 1) decisive command - one target ability, free action, cooldown 2 2) coordinated command - jumps to 1 additional target. uses 1 action. So how can I get 7 magelock shots exactly? I counted 3 shots max, including hero using ability with "jump"
@@krzysztofkalinowski2998 Lets say you have 5 magelocks in your army for whatever reason and your champion has magelock then that is 6 + free action decisive command that is 7 magelock shots on opening salvo while if he does not have magelock but got coordinated command and same army then that is still 7 magelock shots on opening salvo. Ofc this is not every round and it is hardly the most balanced army.
I'd recommend Mystic Culture, with the Starblades Attunement. Pick up Tome Of Evocation and Faith for T1 (gives you nice healing and damage), in Tier 2 Tomes go for the rest of the Astral (Blue) books and see where it takes you. You don't really need more of a build than that to get a feel for what you want to play. I recommend them because they are easy and dish out nice amounts of damage. If you want to powerplay a bit, go for the T2 Chaos book with the Gremlins inbetween, as it will make the enemy debuffed a lot. There's tons of options and if anything interests you, go for it. I'd recommend a lower difficulty level at first to compensate for some experimentation. Hope this helps o/
You need the Reavers cultural enchantment (I forgot the name) which allows every foreign melee unit to apply mark as well. Without that any non-reaver melee will kinda suck, yes.
@@Ic0nGaming I'm really confused, I was looking a lot. I watched all Your videos about Reavers, even old ones. You mentioned some enchantment but never showed It on screen so I'm totally confused. I don't see any enchantment in my spellbook other than enchantments I researched. Maybe they removed it? Or maybe my game id bugged? Or somehow I'm missing something? Please help to clarify this
@@krzysztofkalinowski2998 It's called Engraving Of Focus and should be available at all stages of the game. It is not bound to any Tome and has a random chance of being available as research project. Maybe you need to shuffle some. But the Enchantment still exists, sorry for forgetting to mention it in the video =)
I've found that Cult of Personality is my new favorite culture trait. I love having all the heroes. I did have another question for you regarding the new update. I seem to recall either seeing in a Dev livestream or reading something about a new feature that stops the tome unlock requirement. I'm not sure where it is though? Is it in the game setu up settings or a culture or racial trait? Or am I having a mandela effect moment?

What is your army composition?
@@JanPawe-uf6oy Honestly, just magelocks. dont really need a frontline when everything dies before they get to me

Thanks for your thoughts! Like I said, this build has a lot of flexibility with those Tomes which I think is a real strength.

Love your videos, you are food for my mind ^^
What a blessing, I've been mulling over what to do for a reaver run and there's some nice insights here!
Haha, I'm happy to serve! And this one is my first splice into an Order based Reaver Build which was a nice change of things.
Love your video and explication so much !!!! thanks !
Nice video, btw is there any retaliation build? It looks fun with the new culture
Loving the vids, Any chance of you doing a necromancer build for the new update at some point? IS the one i'm waiting on :D
Lemme guess, True Shot enchantment?
Edit: called it (pun not intented)

I just started replacing my melee troops with monk and the problem is that I need more units that apply mark. Did You use overseers for that?

@@Ic0nGaming Thanks for explaining. Its very important especially for Reavers :)
@@Ic0nGaming Actually I alt-Tabed to write here, than came back to game, research finished, I shuffled 3 times and I found it!
is this build recommended for auto-resolve only?
No, even if it works quite well cause the AI handles the burst okay-ish. But manually playing makes it much stronger.

there is a realm trait that removes the affinity unlock req. is that what you mean?

tried it and concluded that this build is just way too restricting
Care to explain what you exactly mean with that?
