I always lusted after a Ghost since the late 90's. I eventually got a Mackie 1604 to go with my Atari, Casio CZ5000, Oberheim Matrix 1000, Bass Station & S950 & I made loads of tunes with this setup. Over the years I gradually sold all my gear & went for the easy life & produced 'In the box' - Until I finally realised I was sounding tonally like everyone else & my tracks had no movement or vibe. I stumbled across an Ad in Gumtree or something for a Ghost LE24 for £450 so had to snap it up. I've now re-bought an Atari 1040STE with Cubase, An S950, M1. JX8P to go with my Ghost & I'm loving this way of creative working. It's all so Immediate, tactile, vibe-y, fun & sounds great. But most importantly, great in a 'Not Perfect' Vinyl vs CD kinda way. Can't wait for the next instalment Billy! Liked & Subscribed
Wow! Great story! You hit the nail on the head about sounding like everyone else when you were totally in the box. It's harder to be unique when you're using the same exact software as that most people have. Congratulations on your artistic journey and thanks for the like and Sub!
I've been saving my Ghost LE24 and most of my late 90s gear from my basement studio in Chicago. I just retired from my AV Tech job at 65, running the Fremont Street video canopy, and am now ready to re-open a project studio in Vegas. Plugged everything last week and everything is as it was in 2000 when I used it last, even channel 11 being dead. Although I've been mixing in the box as a side hustle since 2K, I want a hybrid studio this time and use my Joe Meek mic pres compressors and Lexicon reverbs with the Ghost through Lynx 2 card MOTU gear and Adat, with the ability to record drums. So I'm following your progress and hope I'm competent enough to fix channel 11. Smooth sailing and may the force be with you.
That's awesome. I'm working on another video about cleaning and installing the Ghost. Ended up with 100 GB of footage! So about to start editing that now. Stay tuned...
I have been looking at a Soundcraft Ghost 32. Something always pops up in life and cant get away to pick it up. I have also thought about a Midas Heritage 3000. Loads of FOH on one. The Foot print is what keeps me going back to the Ghost series. Hope it works out for ya. I miss the work flow of a desk!! it just clicks with my old brain.
Awesome. I have two ghost consoles! the last aux out doesn't work so I gotta open it up and see what the deal is. on my 2nd Ghost there's a lot of scratchy pots and faders. Not a big deal, got it for $300 :)

Something super awesome about loading all that fancy gear into the back of a Honda Odyssey. Priorities baby!!
I put one of these in a studio back in the 90's. It really is a lovely desk to work with.

Nice! I am still searching for the Arogosy desk
I’m looking forward to watching the process.

This one will barely fit in my control room but I'm going to make it work. Just started getting into cleaning the faders and such.

I follow your IG page. Always do a great job telling your stories plus we both have a ghost and Tascam MS 16. Cool stuff as always..
Thank you!!!
Nice! They had these consoles at my audio school. Unfortunately they were wonky and never got 100% fixed. But I could tell it was a pretty solid board
Well, they aren't SSL's by any means but they're pretty good. This is going to give me the ability to do so much more at my home studio.
Haha!!! It will NEVER END!!!! 😂
AWESOME!
Thanks!
all ways evolving
There is a pretty old mixer 20j ago .
