Perfect, short, sweet, to the point. At 71 years young I finally learned how it works.
Never too old LInda. I am right behind you
55 here!! No clue what to do with that little jobber so i tied it in a bow. Lol. Now i can do it right!!
Thank you also :) I know its an old video but but why can’t they just include the three step instructions with products. Again, thank you very much! 🎉
I agree. How many times I go into UA-cam and have to skip through a 20min video for a 2min answer. Much appreciated 👍🏼
Lol, I feel ya, Linda 😂
I know this is four years late, but I’m now 49 and thanks to your video, I finally know how to use these darn things! 😂😩. I grew up in the outdoors, and my father was an outdoor writer even, but I always got these things wrong or just drove a stake down through one of the holes in the plastic tab! So much for thinking I was an “outdoorsman!” Thank you my friend, and God bless! Justin from Pennsylvania, USA (and an Eastern Oregonian during my HS years, so I’ve been in some amazing nature! Just never knew how to use a pre-made guy line! Never too old to learn! 😂👍🏻)
Short, simple, and to the point. Wish more UA-cam videos were like this.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for the video. I've used those a thousand different ways but never the correct way.
Thanks for watching Bobby, glad it helped
Gotta love UA-cam. I was packing my tent up for a trip this week and thought someone must know what these little plastic things are for, and I’m sure I’m not many to be just tying random knots in these lines. A quick search and viola! Here you are. Thank you sir.
OMFG the amount of ways and knots i was using.... to this day.... just to find out.... it was that simple... from the beginning 😳😳😳. I'm embarrassed a little bit.... Thank you sir 🙏😅😅😅
Don't be!!! Most people don't know how to use them, including me! So simple!
We all did it i used it last yr and early this yr i forgot and went back to the nuts
Thank you so much! I never could figure out how to use them, but now, thanks to you, I'm going to go use them on my canopy.
I've struggled trying to figure how to use those through many years of camping. Super satisfying to know how to make it work now. So simple and perfect.
Brilliant, straight to the point, no flaff video. This is how a tutorial should be done.
Thankyou very much!
Much appreciated! I was struggling with this the other day when setting up a hammock tarp and this video cleared everything up for me. Short, simple and easy to understand. The perfect video! Thank you for doing this!
Thanks Hugh. Great little device really and you don't have to buy anything else
@@naturecallsoutdoors You don't need to buy anything just use a tuatline hitch or truckers hitch or something
@@yawningdog9894 For sure Dan, these are the little locks that a lot of tents come with. Yes, learn knots
Thank You!!!!!
Thanks for the easy straight forward show on how to use these.... Nice!
Thanks Christine. I actually remember when I figured it out, the small things that bring happiness
As an addition to this I recommend using a bowline to tether to whatever it is your securing. Great video.
thank you for that! I was going crazy trying to figure that out. I was feeling like the only person that didn't know how to do that simple task....thx again
Thanks Tracy. For years I just took them off, but then once I found the way, I love them.
I usually throw those tensioners out and use a taut-line hitch. Although, I just bought a Marmot tent that came with the three-hole tensioners and decided to figure them out. YOU came to the rescue with your short, easy, and simple video. Thank you!
Yay! My mystery solved! LOL. Short, sweet and to the point. Subscribed.
Yes, don't tell anyone. our secret
We go camping every year. Without fail, everytime, i find ive completely forgotten how to use these cunning little things, and the wind is starting to pick up and the rain is threatening, so THANKYOU to whoever u are for taking the time to post your vid. And ive already saved it for next year 😂
Thank you!!!! I felt so silly for not being able to figure these out, glad to see there's 80 thousand other people who also watched it! :)
Thank you!! My guy lines broke last summer and I had to replace them this season with no clue. Your explanation makes so much sense!
I have been meaning to look up a how to for these for years. Finally got around to it. Thanks for the clear instruction.
I hit the subscribe button just for this video, I was using a Prusik and wasting so much time, never even thought of this until your video
Thanks Brook. They are super lightweight as well. I do knots also, but love how quick this is
Thanks. My guys were slipping as I'd tensioned using the wrong loop from the tensioner. Much more secure now.
Thank you, 57 years old, several camping trips (first one just days ahead of me without my girl's). Thought I'd better watch a quick 'how to'
Thank you 😊
Thank you sooooooo much, with my son in the rain and couldn't figure it out without you kind sir
Thank you for this video. I was using it "creatively" for all my camping trips lol.
Thank you for the video. Camped with a rain fly last night and tied knots using these cause I had no idea how to use them hahah!
Thanks for watching Dravenos. Glad it helped
Great video! Thanks for not adding a bunch of extraneous chatting. Right to the point, good camera angles. Easy peasy.
So that’s how these things work! I hope to remember next time I’m camping.
They are pretty effective really, and lightweight. Have fun out there.
Thank you for this SHORT and right to the point video. Sometimes that is all people want. I watched a 6 minute video of how to use them and was ready to scream "PLEASE GET TO THE PLASTIC PIECE ALREADY"....
Again, THANK you!
100% brand new to camping and tent setup, and this answered a question I didn't know I had - THANK YOU. :)
Amazing, helped me out in electric picnic 2024! Thanks from Ireland!!!
Thank you so much for this. I’ve just bought a windbreak from Argos and they supply these cords and buckles for the guy lines, but they’re threaded the wrong way and there are no instructions! Your video saved my sanity!!!
I had no clue how to use them !! Thanks for the info !
Thanks a lot! Was clueless until I saw your vid.
Man, I've had those things on so much of my equipment for sooo many years, and now at the ripe age of 57 I finally understand how to use them. Thank you :) cheers
Really thanks , everyone talks about knots , but nobody talk about this simple tensioners . Thanks
quick and easy to understand thank you
Thanks for watching fannypop
Thanks! Saved me money, I almost bought expensive ones because I had no idea how these ones worked
Thanks for watching. I also got real good at doing knots too, but these little gadgets work great.
Thank you! After going a few years without camping it’s easy to forget which side the stake goes in. This was just what we needed to get us back on track!
YES! It helped… Over 45 years camping and backpacking, NEVER took the time to figure these out… 😂
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
It's been so long since I put up a tent, (in fact I don't think I ever bought a new tent to have to worry about tying on the guy ropes) I was really struggling, trying to tie the tent end onto the knotted end and wondering why it wasn't adjustable. I only had to watch three seconds of this video to know what I was doing wrong. Thanks, you're a lifesaver.
Thank you so much sir, so simple and yet i spend half of my day researching this lol. GOD bless you.
Thanks Jorge. Little things that help
Great video Bruce. Never knew how to use the tensioners, just usually get creative with them. This helps so much, thank you.
Thanks Jason. Turning out to be one of my most popular videos
Thank you! Just spend a good couple hours struggling with my tarp at the campsite. This was exactly the help I needed.
Awesome, glad to help
You have just saved my freaking life with this issue!!!! I have looked EVERYWHERE for how to use these with the tent I bought…. This is the FIRST video I’ve seen on this topic… AWESOME
Just what I needed. Tarp came with lime kit but wasn’t sure how to tie the tabs off. Thanks for that
I used to just cut them off and go knots, but these work surprisingly well
im 50 years old after so many camping trips today i learned how to put a tent up . i always knew i was doing it wrong, wow posted on my birthday
Thank you for this video. Made my experience with this new (to me) type of tensioner for guy lines.
Thanks Beth. They work pretty well and fast.
Man, you have no idea how much time I lost to figure out how to use them. Thank you so much!
So glad I found this video. It's very informative and quite useful. TYSM for sharing your techniques and knowledge with us.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! For the life of me I could not figure out how to use REI Quarter Dome Guy Lines.
Thank u .. I'm all stressed out with 3 boys running around and your assistance was invaluable
Holy heck. So simple when explained like this. Thanks mate!
Awesome, thanks so much,,, been fiddling with these black 3 hole grommets and was scratching my head,,,, perfect video,,,, thanks for taking the time to create and post.
Thanks for watching Andrew. They are pretty effective really
Gawd I have tried for three hours. I finally found your video. Thank you so much. You saved me.!!!
Brilliant, If you think about it it's so easy-I feel ashamed I couldn't get it. Thnx a lot!
Thank you so much for the simple and easy instructions.
I bought a washing line that came with one of these, and had no idea how to use it. Brilliant video, thank you!
Just went camping and I came to figure this out and this was a great heads up. Great video
Excellent thank you. Straight to the point. Liked and saved to playlist. Comment for the algorithm.
Had these for years, and just today learned! Thanks
This video epitomizes the usefulness of UA-cam. Thank you.
short to the point. Thank you! I've been camping for years and never knew how to use those things!
over a decade of bike touring and I'm just learning this?? super useful video.
It's so simple but I couldn't work it out. Thanks very much.
Thank you! Short, to the point, NOT condescending.
Greetings from India.
Your video is clear and concise (no fluff). Thank you, Sir.
Might be one of the best UA-cam videos ever made. :)
Thanks. Really needed that. Great for first-time campers.
Best explanation ever. Thanks so much.
Easy when you know how lol! I have a mechanical engineering degree and for the life of me I couldn't work these things out yesterday on my first camping trip in decades! Thanks for putting this up.
.
Something so simple but important to also explain in a simple way.
I haven’t camped in decades and ran across these with my new tent. There were instructions for everything except how to use those darned things! I ended up using them for some weird loop to make my own truckers hitch. Now I realize that I worked harder than I needed to. Thanks!
Thank you, have a subscribe! I feel less dumb after reading the comments, glad I'm not the only one struggling!
Thanks Chris. We are in this together
Thank you very much! I had no idea how to use these things. This is a clear, concise and to the point video! Thanks again.
Thank you!! You helped save our party preparations!!
Thankyou. That was simple and easy to understand. Appreciate it.
Short and direct. No wasted words or motion. I love it. Most of these 3-holers are work best with 4 mm paracord-diameter line, about 1/8"
Wish I looked this video up sooner. Now I am ready for my second camping trip. Thanks for the info.
That's exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!!
Thank you Groovy
I really appreciate this! I have been looking for this level of detail on how to use guy wire tensioners for a while.
For low & highwall nylon tents that have these tensioners, in buffetting winds they still slide down the guy. You stop that by pushing a safety pin through the guy rope behind the tensioner.
Great tip Warren. Thanks
Great video! Thanks!
Thanks for watching
Thank you! I finally learnt today how to use that tensioner..
Thank you. Didn't know it was so easy to use. :)
You be Joseph. I think they are really pretty good too
Thanks SO much. I am as “creatively” using my rope sliders and very frustrated as I couldn’t find instructions. You’re a gem. 🇦🇺❤️
Thank you so much 🙏🏽. We just came home from camping and wished I found your video before then. I’m sitting in my tent now and undoing my mess and making it right. 🤙🏽
oohhhhh Thank You! exactly the type of video I was looking for. Short and to the point with easy to understand instructions.
Great video, short but to the point. Thank you
After all this time I've been throwing those things away. Wasn't sure how to use them, but now I know! Feeling like an idiot now LOL I didn't know it was so easy! Thank you sir!
Felt pretty stupid after I saw easy it was. Thanks for saving the day. 😊
Been doing it wrong my whole life. Never really had an issue but I'm about to camp in high winds and figured I need to know the proper way to use them. Thank you so much.
Take extra stakes and earplugs.
Thanks. Straight to the point. I too was struggling, an still got it wrong a couple of times even after watching this!!. Very helpful.
I do like those. I've been meaning to get myself some of those.
Thanks for the video
They work great really. They didn't come with your Kelty?
No.. but I was thinking about getting some for the tarp I put over my hammock
wholly crap it took me an hour to find this. I didn't know what to search for. Thank YOU! I'm only 62, lol.
I usually take them off and replace them with a sturdier metal version.
I do too or go with knots. I do a lot of reviews and the tents are sent to me and I can''t modify. I do think for common summer campers these are fine.
Thank you! I don't know why I waited so long to learn this. Great video! So easy to understand.
Thank you! I've had guy lines with tensioners like that lying around for years in my emergency fix package in my backpacking gear. They are from some tent I've never seen or own hence I had no idea how to use them. Now I know. 😄
Quick and informative! Thank you for this helpful video!
Great review! Exactly what I wanted to know. Outstanding! Thanks Chris Tacoma, Wa.
thanks i have used tents a lot in the last year and never knew how to use that thing. now tomorrow i plan on setting up my tent to check this out.
