Thanks for the interview Logan. But - The number one question did not get asked : How do we deal with the massive amounts of data generated by such a high throughput network as Solana ? Thank you.
Lots of twitter discussion around whether this is possible, I'm no expert there although this pod was a good. My question is, if you have an open programmable platform that has even close to nasdaq speed, and everyone is on that platform (found PMF), does it matter? If that's where the trading happens everyone is playing in the same arena anyway. Maybe close is good enough if (big if) the chain finds escape velocity
Posit: singapor event X fiber time T Singapor to Nasdaq block oroduction time B nasdaq trade time 1ms 1) local solana gets X first @ t=0, then gets to produce a block takes time B, then transmits to Nasdaq time T. 2) local Nasdaq news gets X, sends it to Nasdaq time T, Nasdaq acts on info in 1ms. Solana T+B >> nasdaq T+1ms by order of magnitude, trade already happened not only based on that event X. as consider those events Xn happening all over, a market has to integrate all events to produce market price, the integration is going to happen on Nasdaq first. after ten events hit nasdaq, are acted on tradewuse, no one cares about all these time stamped sol events trickling in, the market has already moved its price based on superior aggregated info. considering multiple events needed to be integrated into consensus blocks, seems solana would be 2 orders of magnitude slower than Nasdaq integrating world info and settling it? Any input appreciated. Cheers, grest episode.
fascinating.
awesome
