This is a fantastic video! Beautifully shot, directed and edited. I like the song as well. For me it’s got some This Old House vibes, which goes great with oth the DIY theme. You sir, have another follow.

If I had been at that trade show listening to your headphone amp and saw it was a kit, I would have been reaching for my wallet rather than running away. As an old Heathkit guy, you have no idea how refreshing it is to see someone offering good quality kits instead of plastic chassis Science Fair style junk!

@@benrupp When you consider how many pieces of Heathkit (not to mention EICO & Scott) hifi gear were sold versus the reactions you cited when folks at your trade show discovered it was "a kit", I think your average Joe & Jill was/were a lot more courageous in terms of assembling a kit back then. Certainly, a typical piece Scott gear at the time might have easily intimidated many, but your kits are probably simpler than even the simplest Heathkits of the time.

Thanks to Joe Roberts who introduced me to SET in his Sound Practices publication, I saw an ad for Valve magazine, and I subscribed and read it with great interest. That was an exciting era of learning of the ways of past masters.

Many, many, many of us have Joe Roberts to thank for the introduction to the hobby.

I was a subscriber to VALVE magazine in the early days. Hard to believe 25 years have gone by that fast. Love what you guys do. I’ve occasionally been involved in building and repairing audio equipment but my Leben 300x integrated is a mainstay now. It is simply magical.

Ben, Thanks for this interview! Very very well done sir. This video has me seriously considering using my electrical skills and building one of Dan's kits. He seems like a very nice gentleman.

Why thank you. Dan is indeed a rather nice fella. The kit I built sounds fantastic. Cheers.

I actually ended up in DIY audio because I also think you should be able to fix things and the amount of unfixable crap ... i prefer to have my own makes. Some are crap - some are grand
