I feel like these boots deserve the same hype as the OG hypervenoms. I haven’t been this excited for a pair of boots for a long time! Definitely grabbing the lows!
I‘m super interested in getting them. The lace cover bothers me too but I think it‘s more this QuadFit I just couldn‘t get used to when I got the Visions so I think I will like them. Had a tough time on the pitch with injuries in 2022 so I want to make the switch from my beloved Mercs to the Gxs for the new year. I hope they‘ll bring me luck.

OOff that's a good question. I LOVED the Match Mercurial in black/blue, I think the Nike GreenSpeed is gorgeous and I have a thing for the OG Hypervenom. But there's a lot of CR7 colourways I love too - Galaxy, Gala Night, that Vapor IX White/Gold limited edition - and of course the Superfly 4 BHM and Vapor 11 BHM. Both amazing. /Jay
I am so hyped about these! The minute i saw some videos about phantom gx i was hyped up. Right now i have the puma future 3.3 orange/black and i absolutely love them, but i wantem to try the phantom gt since they were on the market. Hope i will get these as soon as they get on the market. I like when the boot has a lot of grip on them because i wore the puma future the mercs and the hypervenoms, but i havent been so hyped about a boot like now.
That's why i had to take the low cut version. I never wore the DF but with these it was so comfortable and lockdown was way better, but i couldnt do my laces u know, a bit more up on the foot, and that was a let down for me unluckily, but wow if it is an amazing boot. And these are words coming from an adidas lover ( thanks to their wide feet boots ).
youtubers have been hating on the phantom gt since its release, still everyone in my team and the youth team below us plays with the phantom gt because they are the by far most comfortable shoes. Only the Tiempo is even close. I have four pairs because I know it usually takes 5 years until they release another model I like. All other shoes are just gimmicks and. I used adidas shoes for 15 years before my mate forced me to try out the phantoms. I have never liked Nike shoes before so it is my objective asessment.

i copped the GX Elite DF, and i LOVE them. i got the shadow pack and blast pack. they're amazing! i wish they had a DF model without the lace cover. but aside from that, they're amazing. i play on natural grass, and my boots are picking up stuff from the elements and getting stickier. it's probably the dirt, but i like the way it's gripping even more now. great review!

I'm only doing it because all FG pitches in Denmark are closed, but it wouldn't be the worst FG tooling to use on AG. Still, a full-conical configuration would be safer, but this is definitely not as aggressive as, say the GT2. There WILL be AGs coming in the new year though. Oh and remember that FG on AG = you lose your warranty. /Jay

the thing i don't like about the newer models of the previous boots are that they keep getting wider and wider. Nike already had the hypervenom line to offer for people with slightly wider feet, the switch from narrow to wide for all the existing model is just ridiculous and unnecessary to me. I mean i don't mind them making the mid or the toe area wider but the ankle? nah, it seems like they are making cleats for The Hulk at this point smh

Jay, how does the upper feel compared to the superfly4? I've been looking for replacements and wasn't impressed with the Vaporposite on newer Mercurials, felt way less pliable than the flyknit on older models.
anytime someone compares any boot to the hypervenom I get a bit weary honestly. they were so good (I owned 2 of them) and I feel like no boot ever hit the same spot again. It's like when a youngster starts playing well in club football and the media dubs him "the next messi/ronaldo" its very unlikely

Just tried these on today and it’s strange b/c I am a 8.5 for mercurials n fit true to size but when I tried the gx phantom DF in a size 8.5 which is typically my size the heel n back of the boot felt really snug n good, but on the front in my toe area I had extra space which I didn’t like and when I would bend my feet to change direction it would feel loose and not feel snug since the gripknit is stretchy. I tried half size down DF as well and it was the opposite, meaning the heel and the sock area felt tight and bothered me a little, but as for the toe area it felt snug when I would bend my foot and change direction. I think u should try find a store that has them and try em out for yoself tho to get a feel for them :)
My 2nd pair of GXs OG (GX I) now in the size of my feet (previously I bought some numbers greater than my feet and now I bought the 7.5 US (in my country 39) just came home today and I ordered on 14th October for 992 BRL (Brazilian Reais), cheaper than the GX II Pro (or Mercs), pay 992 BRL to an Elite version is nonsense (175 dollars in conversion) to a pair that 1 year ago were the Haaland's personal boot now is my 2nd GXs (last GXs I in Nike App in Brazil).

how much of the shoe is actually waterproof? is the inside foot fully waterproof cos if it isn't it may cause issues in terms of grip in the rain. especially with how stretchy and sensitive the material is to your feet, my foot might slide to one side slightly. just questions cos i'm liking the material aspect of it from past experiences. oh and is there a high sock version?

Depends on your feet. But I'd say Vapors are the best for wingers. If you got wider feet just go with the Phantoms, the'll be more comfy and that's the most important thing about football boots.

Quick hack! When you buy a pair of cleats buy the ones with a sock collar and laces, that way you have the option between laceless and laces.

The gt line has, for me, suffered in the toe box area. Its extremely shallow and my true size doesnt fit my toes and a half size up is too long
The first colorway for the Phantom GX reminds me of the final colorway of the Phantom VSN/VNM

Well they (phantoms) are made for wider feet anyway. So im pretty sure thats why

Depends on your feet. But I'd say Vapors are the best for wingers. If you got wider feet just go with the Phantoms, the'll be more comfy and that's the most important thing about football boots.
