I have seen this request before. Although it sounds good, it will undermine any spells already in the game by custom ones that will be the best. I think if we had 20 more spell types per skill, then that would be good. Make them unique like all the skyrim shouts should be tweaked to be spells of some kind etc.

We need customizable weapons. Pick your blade, the guard, the wrap, engravings, colors, materials, then top it off with enchanting at the level of Oblivion.

    • @conjonsilver_
      @conjonsilver_ 2 місяці тому +5

I have heard of this suggestion before. The counter argument I have seen is that it makes uniques less unique. Eg windshear was just a scimitar but it should have had a custom hilt or engravings or wraps to make it unique. If you can customise any weapon that much then the chosen uniques feel less special. So I would rather see any uniquely chosen weapons have those features but normal weapons remain similar to skyrim.

I’m kind of torn on the leveling system of Skyrim. Generalized, I really like it. I think it works well on things like sneak, pickpocket, one/two handed/archery, the armors, etc. But there are a couple I’m not a huge fan of like smithing and enchanting, it seems weird to me to have to craft 1,000 dwarves bows in order to be able to level up to unlock crafting dragon bone and daedric stuf, same with enchanting, it’s tedious to enchant 1,000s of rings, necklaces, bows from leveling smithing etc. to be able to put two enchantments on an item.
I think the difference between combat skills, for example, and smithing and enchanting is that you will naturally level the combat skills and stuff up as you play but unless you’re doing some really niche RP as a blacksmith to make money or something, you probably aren’t crafting thousands of iron daggers and bows and swords. That being said I don’t think you should be able to craft dragon bone after just crafting 10 iron daggers so I’m not really sure what the fix would be. Maybe at like level 15 of one handed you can craft iron one handed weapons and level 25 you can do steel, etc up to level 90 one handed you can make daedric one handed weapons and level 100 one handed you can make dragon bone one handed weapons. Using the items corresponding skill rather than a smithing/enchanting skill itself. Or maybe it’s not quite locked through skill progression but the hard part is finding the materials to use rather than earning the skill itself.
Idk just a nitpicking thing from someone who has leveled 100 enchanting/smithing probably 20+ times 😂

The reason for starting as a prisoner is that it essentially nullifies your background and you start on a blank slate.
The person you character was is no longer relevant as they become the godhead at the start of the game. That os, they are chosen by destiny to fulfil a divine purpose, that purpose being to become the player character. Sure you can come up with your own headcanon as to why you ended up in prison, but it will bever matter. That is not why the gods have chosen to release you.
This is kinda why im really not that into alternate dtart mods, but that is just me.
As for the levelling issues, BGS's problem was tying overall character level to world levels (particularly in oblivion though the problem still existed in Skyrim to a lesser extent).
The solution is simply to have character level and world level be independent of each other, or if they are tied then not so comstrained to each other.

With regards to clothing and armour. I’d like to see a system where you have a base layer - legs and chest or a one piece - and then depending on the quality and design of that base layer you can add armour plates and accessories through crafting to create a unique item. I would have loved to take the archmage robes in Skyrim for example and add a thieves guild bandolier or pauldrons from the companions wolf armour or the dawn guard armor. Maybe this could also allow you to add or remove enchantments too. You could have it so the enchantment comes from an accessory added to the base item instead of bound to the base item indefinitely. And you could even work this into the no/light/heavy armour system too. So that heavier armour pieces can’t just be crafted onto a ragged piece of clothes. Maybe you have to have a mail doublet which is sturdy enough and strong enough to be used alongside the heavier armour plates or something 🤷‍♂️

Only in recent years have I released that Bethesda focuses on making their games accessible and easy to get into for everyone. This leads them to lack depth in certain areas.
I really hope they are able to cater to the hardcore/immersion players too because that side of the game is what I and a lot of players love about BGS games.
Survival mode in Skyrim is a great example, and although the new difficulty update in Starfield is good, it does miss the mark in some places...

Each thing I want from each past Bethesda Games:
Morrowind: Medium Armour, Athletics, Spear, etc. More skills and classes for more rp value.
Obilivion: the reputation system, and exclusive factions (Some guilds aren't allowed if you have infamy). People recognize you are Hero of Kvatch is something lacking in Skyrim.
Fallout 3 & NV: Perks that are tie to more than one skills. Imagine Bound Weapon perks needing both Weapon skills and Conjuration. Also traits.
Skyrim: The unique separate power progression, Swordsinging instead of Thu'ym. But allow it to be viable for many archetypes. (Stealth takedowns for assassins, spectral daggers that shoots towards an enemy you shoot arrows at for archers, Floating Sword summons for Mages, etc.)
Fallout 4: One thing FO4 did better than other games are the companions. We need more unique companions as well as random hirelings. (Starfield did this to a degree but failed by having only 4 companions all tie to one faction). And also Skyrim's Heathfire with FO4's building system.
Starfield: procedual generation but in a small $5 DLC that gives you random dungeons in daedric realms. This works in lore side daedric realms are infinte and (ever-changing?) and like a remastered version of Oblivion Gates. And Bounties like you mentions.

No, not as a main feature. We obviously need to return to the big handmade campaign map like Oblivion/Skyrim. I want proc gen as a secondary minigame. I want to build a custom ship, recruit crewmates, and sail to random islands and coastal regions where I can build a fort and play The Sims. Starfield has this but its totally undercooked and pointless. I view it as an early alpha test. I think it mostly depends on the writing. They could be made interesting with good writings, worldbuilding, and game mechanics.
I feel like they could use High Rock as the classical fantasy setting, with hopefully some details from the 1st guide to the empire, such as the horsemen of northern high Rock, or the political intrigue of the region following the warp in the west. What does Daggerfall, or Sentinal, or whatever other city or all cities that may or may not have, been wiped out by the numidium. High Rock would be under the rule of the empire, though collapsing, High Rocks kingdoms are still apart.
Hammerfell could go absolutely crazy, serving as a heavy contrast. The isolated settlement and kingdoms only connected by caravans or shipping lanes. Markets of rugs, incense, and magical items and weaponry. Exploring the ideas of the near and far shore, meeting Tall Papa, and Aowahacca (the yokudan soul god), and Hoonding. Learning the history of the ra-gada, yokuda, and the hammerfellic dwemer. Learning sword dancing though rigorous training.
Honestly, anywhere on Tamriel is interesting based on what portrayal is used and how that's portrayed in game. I'm just hoping for a slightly more dynamic world from Bethesda. Though that's a big wish, so I best not get my hopes up.

The best version of TES6 is one where it’s not set in the extremely boring province of Hammerfell just for the sake of diverse NPC’s. Instead, a more logical, artistically inspired location like Vallenwood/Summerset Isles or almost anywhere else like Elsewhere or Black Marsh or the Akaviri continent. The setting they decided on was for purely political “current year” reasons and nothing else. Their release schedule is too far apart to do stuff like this. What a kick in the teeth after almost a 20 year wait. We’re literally getting Elder Scrolls VI: Wakanda, and for some reason people haven’t quite caught on to these signs of an inevitable disaster yet.

Personally i like realism in physics, The Witcher 3s put me off because of the clumsiness. Skyrim had really good and realistic weapon interaction and feedback, and realistic, made playing with melee weapons satisfying, none of that weapon swoosh nonsense, it kills immersion
