If you can only have one guitar, a desert island guitar if you will, it would have to be a Strat - to this day it's the most tonally versatile guitar out there, with or without an effects pedal rack. Even with the mini-humbuckers, which should give the Les Paul (Deluxe) more clarity and focus, it's still much 'muddier' than a Strat. Nice little breakdown on the pros and cons of these two iconic instruments. Liked and subscribed - thanks for uploading.
@@six_string_sage Yes, no doubting the quality of the construction of a Les Paul; it's put together better than a Strat with its set neck, but, I think Leo Fender got it right, the second time (around) post the Telecaster, which for me is a proto-Strat. And to think that his background was in engineering and he couldn't even play the guitar - what a (stroke of) genius! Best wishes...
Never played a les Paul, but I’d love to have one sitting next to my strat for completely different sounds. Love them both sound wise though and thanks for the video.
PRS is certainly interesting. I had a Custom 24 which you can see in some older videos but I sold it to fund a Gibson custom shop. Although very much their own thing, I generally feel they are very good at bridging the gap between Fender and Gibson too
You absolutely can not compare these two guitars. The Gibson can not play nor feel like a Strat and a Strat can not play or feel like a Gibson. This is apples to oranges. Not the same tree. It's like comparing two tools that do similar things. I would not use a philips screwdriver to tighten an allen head bolt I'd use an allen wrench. I would not use a Les Paul to play Stevie Ray Vaughan. So it's not so much which is better they are both great guitars but each has it's own unique sound, feel, & presence. Then you also have different models of each brand which changes the attributes of each guitar. Your choice of camera angle is rather off putting. I do not want to see your crotch for 46 minuets. I'm sorry Mr. but someone has to say something. Don't take it personnel I'm just trying to help you. Your Title does not say what @franklinj1038 said. You're mistaken words and meanings are very important. What is better for you Gibson or Fender. You're actually saying which is better "Period" in your title. that my friend is speculation and subjective. I have a little collection of guitars. 1) Fender Strat Modified MIM 2) PRS Silver Sky USA 3) G&L Telecaster ASAT 4) PRS McCarty Singlecut SE Modified Pickups (Gibson dirty fingers neck and Seymour Duncan George Lynch bridge) 5) Fender Aerodyne Strat California Blue 6) Ibanez Prestige Team J Craft. Not one of these is a Gibson Les Paul. My Father has two Les Pauls, Blackie,& Goldtop, I've played both and it's a completely different experience. One thing I have learned is each guitar makes the player feel something different which makes you play a little different. Thank you for sharing what ultimately is your opinion. But I hope you understand that when you broadcast your self out there you will get feedback. Regards.
I haven’t said one is better, the entire video is highlighting the opposite… what I’m doing is presenting an overview of the models to help people better understand how they differ. And I’m not sure what you’re seeing in the title but I see “Gibson” and “Fender” in it
@@six_string_sage Gibson Les Paul vs Fender Stratocaster: which is better? That is your title. The part that i am referring to is the last part >>> which is better?
@@whatshappening177 In your first comment, you said "Your Title does not say what @franklinj1038 said" - and what that person said is, the title should say Gibson and Fender. Thanks for confirming both brands are mentioned. With regard to the last part, you'll notice it's a question and not a statement - "which is better?". The reason for that is simply because it's the question many people ask when considering what to buy. This video is answering that question, but not by making a case for either one of them being superior to the other. On the contrary, the conclusion is the guitar to buy is the one you prefer! It seems you've not watched the video and are responding to the title - that's fine, but perhaps you've done so a little too hastily.

Thanks Mark! A Strat is definitely a very solid choice for a desert island guitar.

Thanks for watching Brent, glad you liked it
Respectfully headline should read Gibson or Fender suitability
Hi Frank, the video headline does
Les paul a little too heavy
PRS
