- The 4-year anesthesiology residency program at Mt. Sinai Hospital trains about 100 residents simultaneously. In this video, I talk with the department's senior leadership to understand the complexities of running such an enormous operation that turns new doctors into board-certified anesthesiologists.

Congrats on completeing your residency, not to mention 4 years of medical school and an internship. I hope you are not too badly in debt. You have been a great teacher and have drawn back the curtain on the mysteries of anesthesiology for millions of potential and actual patients. I have been an ACLS certified paramedic for many years, placed more than my fair share of ET tubes in the field, and learned a great deal about the medicine involved in your specialty. Thank you for that education. Best wishes for a long, enjoyable and rewarding career, your patients are very fortunate to have you caring for them.
You guys only do 4 years? We do 6 years, plus all the other stuff.
@@moritzwagner4332t’s 4 years of college and then 4 years of medical school. I’m assuming your 6 years is both of those combined.
@@jared394 oh yeah, University. We don't have college.
Thank you Max for posting behind the scenes what goes into medical education. As a patient I find the dedication of Physicians comforting.
Congratulations on your anesthesiology residency graduation and what I think is the best channel on youtube! I have been very appreciative for your videos as they provide some insight into what my son is going through during his anesthesiology residency program. All the best to you on your career and hope you continue producing content in the future.
congratulations!!! i had surgery this week and your videos made me feel a lot less overwhelmed. your patients are lucky to have you :-)
That is how a culture of learning and patient care should be. Amazing to learn how this program develops quality physicians . I hope more programs and hospitals develop this philosophy.
Max, congrats on the long journey you have endured. The future is bright.
Congratulations on completing residency 🎉
Dr. Max, I am no stranger to surgery and anesthesia. I always review your videos, before each surgery, to remind me what to expect and to have a comfortable experience. Thank You!!
Congratulations Max. God be with you
Congratulations! I Can’t believe it’s 4 years already. I listened first during the beginning of your internship.
That’s very cool how residency is run and works! So cool!! I really enjoy donating to the anesthesiologist Foundation, since it was hard for me to go to college because of my cerebral palsy, I really wanted to be a anesthesiologist physician!
Congrats on completing your residency! Wish you all the best as you move forward in your career!
Excellent video on the inner workings of managing people and schedules
👉 VERY much appreciated. The administrative process is as important to understand as is the technical side. 😁

Max, thanks for another magnificent video -- a glimpse into the administration and management of your large residency program. I am immensely impressed by the leadership of the program with whom you spoke. The profession would be so much better if the lessons they conveyed were more widely adopted.
Congratulations, Max!
Ahhh Dr. Sherwin!!! He's the kindest, most passionate educator
Perfect video to wrap up residency !

I am so excited for you, Max! Congratulations on completing your residency! I love this video!
Really well done, Max! I really appreciate the documentation of your journey, as well as the technical information you present in your videos. You've somehow struck the ideal blend. Thank you!
As a DIO (know what that means?) at a major academic institution I value(d) a collegial professional relationship with program directors and support staff as critical to ensuring that both the sponsoring institution and residencies/fellowships were providing an excellent educational experience. Almost without exception that was always the case. As well, the resident forum provided a venue for residents to meet and discuss concerns with senior GME leadership. Lastly, congratulations Max for providing professionally produced and highly informative programming. I hope you will continue these efforts during fellowship and what is likely to become an academic career. Cheers!
Congratulations Dr Max!
Your videos are gold as an anesthesiology applicant! Thanks for continuing to show how interesting the field is ❤

Dr. Max, will you be continuing your videos? AND Congratulations! Next time I have surgery I'll be able to ask more questions due to your videos!
WHAT. WOW. THAT TEXT AT THE END....
Will you be making videos? Where are you going now?
Can you do a video on ER trauma room anesthesia?
I think it's so nice that there is equal respect for everyone. I dont have issues with authority, but if someone call me by my first name, I will call them by their first name and so on.
You mentioned the RICC how common are they placed? when are they indicated? why a RICC vs a triple lumen central line? why a ricc in heapatobiliary sx?
Semper Fi! Go Navy
Your Ot is good looking....
Mazel Tov Max!
How difficult is it for an img to enter anesthesiology residency in the Us?
Hello Dr.Feinstein ,
Did you have to get formal permission from your program director to create this channel ?
Yes. As well as the department chair, as well as the social media department of the hospital system.
Cool. What a cool way to see how things work in a hospital in a way that content on the internet will always be a bit salesman shippy. Although like where does equipment come from, like mostly in America, yes? It’s just someone talk about this and like it’s weird that we get crap from China.
Best of luck to you but, I do have a question - why were you wearing a mask and the Program Director, Dr. Levine was not.
Congratulations!!! Your videos are what made me interested in anesthesiology 🥹
Hi . I am BSC anesthetist With 5 years experience in Ethiopia .africa . Do you i can continue My Career as anesthesiologist assistance in USA . I Appreciate !!!!
Are you going to be a fellow or became an attending without fellowship?
Yes, pediatric anesthesiology!
So, peds fellowship?
Yasher koach
Congratulations Max !
