Am I the only person who doesn't like the NCAA putting 'automatic' qualifiers in the play-in games? How is it an automatic bid if they aren't even playing in the first round? The play-in games should only include the NCAA's last 8 at-large teams as they try to prove that they belong in the tournament. An automatic bid should at least give teams a 1st-round game.
No. This should NOT be allowed. It's cringe worthy to see 17 win teams like UM get past the First Four round with a bye...when it's clear that they should have played their way into the round of 64...just like Indiana and Rutgers did (IU won and RU lost that round.) UM got lucky beating CSU in the round of 64. And TAMU got snubbed a chance to play.
