To better understand Diana you need to watch her perform “Yodel time”. She performed this at a different TV competition and none of the judges turned around but the audience gave her a standing ovation and later demanded she be put on the show. It was a big scam about it. She uses yodeling technique in a lot of her songs to fluidly transition her voice is so many ways it has baffled many other people who react to her songs. Then you will want to see “Human” then you will be hooked if you already are not. There is not one song that she sings that you will not get goosebumps from. Wicked game was my introduction to Diana over 2 1/2 years ago. Its been a pleasure to explore this young ladies artistry and her growth as a vocalist. Through vocal training Diana has widen her range both higher and lower.........she has matured physically and artistically. Diana's vocal tone and timbre is magnificent, no telling how good this young lady will be in 5-10-15 years from now, oh she'll only be 33 yrs old in 15yrs. So much growth to come yet. People are likely to beg that you next listen to her covers of "Rechenka" and "Human", sung at 14 and 15 respectively. And I cannot disagree. However these were sung over two years ago now and you may wonder What is she doing now? Can she live up to the promise of these performances? I have asked myself this, for the show, "You Are Super" has been able to provide spectacularly professional supports of arrangement and staging to its young stars. Diana is always pushing her boundaries and trying something new, experimenting with new forms (and new languages!), but it was not until she started singing and developing a song (a cover) variously translated as "Finicky Horses" or "Ornery Horses" that I could feel completely convinced that as she grows she will surpass these earlier performances from You Are Super. Diana will blaze a path across the sky. She may not be gigantically commercially successful for she clearly intends to blaze her own path but surely she will be successful by all other metrics. At the moment she is preparing a crowd funded album, working closely with a producer and a song writer. It is maybe due out near her 18th birthday in May. Who knows what jewels we will find there.

Rechenka is probably one of my favorite performances by her. She's incredible, really
To better understand Diana you need to watch her perform “Yodel time”. She performed this at a different TV competition and none of the judges turned around but the audience gave her a standing ovation and later demanded she be put on the show. It was a big scam about it. She uses yodeling technique in a lot of her songs to fluidly transition her voice is so many ways it has baffled many other people who react to her songs. Then you will want to see “Human” then you will be hooked if you already are not. There is not one song that she sings that you will not get goosebumps from. She is a rare contralto that you will never get tired of listening to. Get reaction and pretty much the same as any musical, vocal or artists that have reacted to her. The one that seems to amaze people the most is polyphonic voice. The root notes are enriched with powerful harmonics which can give the impression that there are several overlapping voices or an artificial effect which gives this result. This technique is used in Slavic folk music, like Bulgarian vocal groups or artists like Pelageya, the Russian folk diva. I cannot tell you exactly how these artists achieve this result, I was just told that it is linked to the simultaneous use of the different resonators of the human body and that such a mastery of the voice and of the breath with such a fluidity requires years of work, Diana has been singing on stage and has been taking singing and performing arts lessons since the age of 6! Wicked game was my introduction to Diana over 2 1/2 years ago. Its been a pleasure to explore this young ladies artistry and her growth as a vocalist. Love Chris Isaac and never thought I would hear a remake of this that would do it justice, and that remake came from a 15yr old girl, I was flabbergasted. I wonder if Isaac has a background in yodelling also b/c one of the reasons she can flip from low to high like that is b/c of her background in it. To answer your question, yes she did make this song her own didn't she? And she was only 15 years old when she did it. People are likely to beg that you next listen to her covers of "Rechenka" and "Human", sung at 14 and 15 respectively. And I cannot disagree.
However these were sung over two years ago now and you may wonder What is she doing now? Can she live up to the promise of these performances? I have asked myself this, for the show, "You Are Super" has been able to provide spectacularly professional supports of arrangement and staging to its young stars.
Diana is always pushing her boundaries and trying something new, experimenting with new forms (and new languages!), but it was not until she started singing and developing a song (a cover) variously translated as "Finicky Horses" or "Ornery Horses" that I could feel completely convinced that as she grows she will surpass these earlier performances from You Are Super.
Diana will blaze a path across the sky. She may not be gigantically commercially successful for she clearly intends to blaze her own path but surely she will be successful by all other metrics. At the moment she is preparing a crowd funded album, working closely with a producer and a song writer. It is maybe due out near her 18th birthday in May. Who knows what jewels we will find there.

It is based on a Russian folksong about a young betrothed orphan girl who goes to the river, the boundary between the living and the dead, to ask her mother's blessing for her marriage.

Ironically, Diana herself was an orphan who was abused and abandoned by her alcoholic mother. Because of this beginning her speech was very undeveloped and she was given singing lessons to help improve her speech. Her talents was quickly recognized and the rest is history.
