    Phil invented "putting a comment in the spot below". That's Radical! Word.

    HK22 is an awesome coverstock for anyone that doesn't use a ball for more than 50 games before replacing it. "Marketing disguised as a coverstock."

      Congrats.. you got a good one. I got less than 50 games out of one of mine. Yes I wipe the ball off after each throw and clean it after each use and I tried to revive it and put the factory surface back on it… There are a lot of you and there are quite a few of me once you start talking to people that have used HK22. Results definitely may vary. I want to make this perfectly clear as well. I have been a huge Brunswick brand fan. I’m part of a family of bowlers spanning multiple generations and over 50 years. we have purchased 20 new Brunswick branded balls over the last 8 months. 2 Radical, 3 Columbia, 3 Ebonite, 6 Hammers and 6 Brunswick. The only three that we have been unhappy with so far have been HK22 products.. Right now we are batting .500 with them. Our other non HK22 balls are still going strong. The first thing that people want to assume is that I must be a noob. I do not ignorantly criticize a bowling product. For Brunswick to base most of there products on a single technology, I should not be able to find people with the same experience as I have been able to. Being someone that has been a loyal supporter of the Brunswick brands I am concerned that over time those with bad HK22 experiences will move to other brands. I would also say that a Radical Rundown showing exactly how to make sure that your HK22 ball last as long as it’s supposed is not a bad idea. If I’m doing something wrong I would like to know.

    I'm a big fan of Radical (it's all I throw anymore), but the HK22 has fallen a bit flat for me. Out of box, my Katana Strike was great! Threw my first 300 in a couple years with it. However, after about 150 games (I bowl two nights a week) into the season, the ball lost it's kick and my other older equipment was hitting much harder.
    I intend to add surface, detox, then attempt to get it close to factory and see how well it performs. For now, though, it's back to the Trail Blazer, Zing, and Bonus, depending on how the lanes are playing that night.
    EDIT: I clean my equipment before and after each league night, as well.

    Why did Ebonite not put HK22 on the GB5?

    • @turtlejeremy6980
      @turtlejeremy6980 6 місяців тому +1

      The GB series is more of meant for a slower benchmark reaction. Also, the GB series has kept the same GB coverstock base for years, just different versions. They went from GB 10.7 to GB 12.7 with the new GB5

    Hk22 is to their brand as REX is to storm. They put it on a LOT of stuff bc they are both good covers and are so versatile.

    HK22 is on the DV8 Brutal Collision. I couldn't get it to turn over and roll unless I slowed my ball speed way down. Now I just use the pads and tune the surface to what I want it to do.

      lanes weren't developed enough for pearl. If 70% of ball reaction is cover and you had to slow the ball down to do anything, that means you were caught in the oil and getting it to the friction late or blowing it through the breakpoint... could be a your tilt vs surface thing too. Probably needed to start with a solid

    My first ball with the HK-22 is the BW 3.0, and I love it! But I am now looking for a ball down from that because some of the other houses in my area tend to have more friction, even on the fresh. I am working on being able to move further across the lane, but as a Speed dominate player, I am looking to have a ball that I can play a little straighter on the higher friction houses.

      100%. I have to buy dead stock balls to get something that isn't plastic but also isn't a hook monster.

      Learn how to bowl with different lane conditions an even different hand position it has helped me alot Radical bowling balls have improved my average by 19 pins in less then 3 years because I don't leave the single pin bullshit from a good shot they have everything you need become me versatile if you are not new to bowling you should know this it's not a fame of inches it's a game mm
