Interview with Urdu Poet Himayat Ali Shair

July 8th is the international writers day. Himayat Ali Shair is a renowned Urdu poet, writer, lyricist, actor and radio drama artist from Pakistan. In an interview with VOA, Shair discussed his life and literary work. Shair was born in 1926 and has contributed to Urdu literature for more than six decades. (INT)
The government of Pakistan recognized his efforts and contributions for Urdu literature by giving him the prestigious civil award, Pride of Performance in 2002.
