    What I got from your lesson in general is that if we want to be specific something we should use plural form and if we want to in general we should use uncountable noun. Is that right 😅

    Hi there, I'd like to ask a question if I may. In the title of Ernest Hemingway's short story:The Snows of Kilimanjaro. Why is it SNOWS, not SNOW? I am an English learner, and was told that "snow" is an uncountable noun so it can be "SNOWS". Thank you very much for your time and help!

    I’m Japanese. I’ve been studying English for more than 6 years as I like English so much. These days I don’t understand well the difference between countable nouns and uncountable nouns while studying English because in Japanese, there’s no concept about article. So I think that this video is of great use. I really appreciate it.

      just me Thank you for saying such a thing. However, in some cases, when Japanese people communicate with foreigners who speak English, Japanese people may impress on them mistakenly by reacting, using body movements, and so forth. I think it relates to the background of different culture.

      Please what's the difference between a chicken and a hen
      a train and a coach
      difficult and hard
      easy and facile
      ....
      In Arabic we translate them into the same meaning but I don't think so. .

    • @thatsme7231
      @thatsme7231 4 роки тому +1

      If l speak English in American and British accent .. will it be right. ?

    • @Ismail_Dagli
      @Ismail_Dagli 4 роки тому +1

      Hi Yasser Mohamed. In this context, a man equals a “rooster” and a woman equals a “hen”. Both are generally chickens, but the names indicate their gender and that they are adults. ... This states that a young male chicken is called a cockerel, while the name for a young female chicken is a pullet. Just to put us all on the same page, let's make the distinction between coaching and training right up front. Essentially, training is about transferring knowledge while coaching is about enhancing knowledge (or skills)-development, in other words. As adjectives the difference between facile and easy
      is that facile is easy, now especially in a disparaging sense; contemptibly easy while easy is comfortable; at ease.
      As a adverb easy is
      in a relaxed or casual manner.

    Dear Alisha. Which of the following is correct?
    ''Please tidy up your Legos.'' - America.
    ''Please tidy up your Lego.'' - the rest of the World.
    Lego is an uncountable noun, like golf or chess. There is no such thing as ''a Lego'', in the same way that there is no such thing as ''a golf'' or ''a chess''. You can speak of Lego bricks, or a Lego set, or a box of Lego, but you cannot pluralise Lego.
    Please pass this information on to your fellow Americans, because it drives the rest of us crazy.
