Rise Up for the Holidays 2018!

As we reflect on 2018, we are reminded that it has been a year to RISE UP and DEMAND CHANGE.
We celebrate the youth who so bravely and boldly led the way for California to increase civic engagement, voter participation and turn out. They are proving to be a very powerful force who demand to be heard and that their leaders be responsive.
For the first time, The California Endowment partnered with Music Changing Lives (MCL) to create a year-end report in the form of a music video that captures the issues youth care about and it reflects their solutions for community change and impact.
The music was created and performed by the youth of MCL, a San Bernardino-based non-profit focused on reducing dropout rates through enrichment programming. The video captures the creative expression of youth and is an extraordinary statement of hope and resolve.
The youth remind us of the transformational power of solidarity as we #RiseUpAsOne for our democratic values and a new patriotism that is youth led and inspired.
As we look to 2019, we are inspired to support our California youth in becoming the innovative leaders of our present and our future.
