Thank you so much for clarifying the Korean translations with Euna! It backs up what I have truly felt in my gut about these two without even knowing the literal translations. The rainy day totally confirmed for me they were in a relationship even back then. Remember when Bang Si-Hyuk said whenever BTS has a problem they discuss it as a group and resolve their issues? Remember when Jin and V were having an argument about the choreography and they all got together to air out the problem? This did not happen with Jikook's rainy day incident. In fact, RM the Leader does not even know what happened. Of all people you would think he would know the situation and get it resolved if there is a problem, right? If JK and Jimin are just band mates then why would they have not had a group discussion about it like they are suppose to? It is because this is a close, personal, relationship issue. Jimin has clearly had enough and tells JK to do whatever he wants and sets him loose. That suggests more of a committed love relationship than a friend. When Jimin had a fight with V over the dumplings, they ended up not talking for two weeks. Why then is Jimin being so dramatic with JK? You can't set something free unless you possess it. JK's panicked reaction to come and find Jimin and not lose him also indicates that JK does not want their relationship to be over other wise JK would have just let Jimin stay mad. Jimin would not be able to avoid him. They work together. They would have to see each other. JK realizes that Jimin is ending it and he doesn't want that to happen so he apologizes and goes to find Jimin. It really is a romantic K-Drama!
Yes, totally agree Bang PD said that they all have to resolve it no matter how embarassing it is for the members involved. Here even V, Jimin's best friend seemed unawares of what went on with JiKook during those times.
totally agree with your comment i think that was push and pull phase in their relationship when this specific incident happened.I always knew that I stan or support a real couple without knowing the actual meaning of whatever they say or do. but even after confirming all this from a native speaker there are some idiots who will still deny it. love between these two is so obvious how can people not see it and worse call it pretending or scripted🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️.
I agree with you 100% and that was my exact thinking when I heard this story. They have been together for so long was my exact thought. I think my suspicion of 2015-2016 is spot on. What's interesting is the members envolvement. You have Yoongi, Jin, and RM who have no clue as to what happened. However the most interesting thing was Tae's and Hobi's reaction. Hobi just like the first clip in the video knows things including this. Jimin probably told him. He can't control his facial expressions and that's hilarious. On the other hand, V has the ultimate poker face if he knows something and is trying to keep it a secret. He overcompensates with the ultimate poker face which does the opposite and now I look for it when I think he's trying to hide something from us.

I also believe that Hobi being Jimin's roomie knows the most about Jikook as I bet Jimin often discussed his emotions to Hobi.
Finally caught up, I just love videos like these. It's kinda like a refresher and going over details and happenings that we potentially have missed the meanings because of mistranslations and such. Just using gut feelings and hearing the tones of their voices when communicating is not enough to comprehend the real atmosphere of what's going on. We need good translations too. While I agree it can have references to JM, Jungkook himself told us that he wrote it during the Pandemic while thinking about time with ARMY and missing seeing us face to face. As an avid Jikooker, I like to think he had Jimin in mind, but that is not what JK himself said. It was during FESTA, I'd have to go back and find the reference.

He heard that jimin and jungkook were fighting so as a leader he should be like "what? Why you didn't tell me?" Furthermore, he only listened halfway of the story and already cringing. Jimin didn't even tell that he and jungkook has made up yet. As a friend, they should feel concern, right? Two friends in your group were fighting, and you didn't even know about it. But what if the two of your friends that were fighting are actually a couple? Of course you would feel like, nah it's a normal thing between couples. I would love more, I am enjoying the explanations from Euna , but to be honest I have no doubt they are in love and are a couple. I find the fact that people think they all live together is hilarious. These are grown men there is no reason for them to all live together now. For those who don't know the dorm's lease ended early last year. Big his has everything they need for work so no need to keep the dorm.
Regardless, there are those who will read into something that's not there or not meant to be what it means to the reader. I don’t know if you would be open to a question for whenever these videos start back up again but I will ask it and if you and Euna want to answer it that would be great and if not no problem. Q. Does the fact that JK sometimes calls Jimin “Jimin-ssi” rather than “Jimin hyung” tell us anything about their relationship? Or is it just a joke that doesn’t mean anything? I did notice in the BTS Run ep 133 when the group is discussing who did better at the Search King game JK uses the hyung title for both Namjoon and Jimin. But I have wondered before it seems like an unequal form of address JK can say hyung to Jimin but Jimin can’t address him that way in response while “ssi” works both ways, when JK says “Jimin-ssi” Jimin seems to often respond with “Jungkook-ssi”. So am I misunderstanding Korean culture or could this be a sign they are equals in any relationship?
Oh, I can answer that! Euna also already talked about that. If we think about the honorifics at general, Jungkook is very respectful about it, mainly with the hyung line, I can literally count on my fingers the amount of times I've seen him call Namjoon, Jin, Yoongi or Hobi without honorifics. We're talking about 10 years together, and it was on very specific situations (for example Run episode 15, when he is going to challenge Namjoon in a game, he does a challenge pose and call "Kim Namjoon"). He only drops the honorifics when it's on purpose, if he's on authomatic mode, he always uses them. With Tae he drops the honorifics a little bit more, as he's closer to his age, but it's still rare. He drops waaay more with Jimin, and the problem is not only about not using the "hyung", but exactly the other ways he calls him. The "ssi" is supposed to be a very respectful honorific, but he obviously uses it on purpose to tease Jimin, and I love how Jimin teases back or just can't stop laughing. It's even worst when he drops the honorifics naturally, like a slip of tongue, because as I said, in his authomatic mode, in a natural way, he would always add it, but with Jimin, his authomatic mode seems to be the opposite. Now, I'll just paste what Euna says about it: "I feel like just in general we lose it anytime Jungkook addresses Jimin without honorifics. Anytime he calls him "Jimin" (or god forbid, Jiminie) we eat that shit up, especially if in context it sounds like a natural slip of the tongue more than a purposeful teasing jab. Culturally, you drop honorifics between people of different ages when you: 1) Make a conscious decision to think of each other as same age friends (i.e what ITS revealed almost happened between maknae line) 2) Are related by blood 3) Are romantically involved (and even here most couples use a mix of honorifics and plain speech even after marriage). Since we know from the documentary and other instances that Jimin places great importance on honorifics and respecting hierarchy, the little passing moments where he seems to allow Jungkook to flout this line with him might stand out more as evidence of their close bond." As Euna said, if you make a conscious decision between your friends of thinking of each other as same age, then you could possibly drop the honorifics without worries. The thing is, Jimin cares about honorifics, Jimin likes that Jungkook is his dongsaeng, and there were times where he called out Jungkook for not using them, so between the two of them probably this agreement didn't happen. But then, Jungkook drops way too much the honorifics with him to be a "sometimes" thing, like with the other members, and he does it naturally, what also doesn't happen with the others, so yeah, there's not a lot of explanations left. About "Jimin-ssi", Euna said: "I love it when Jungkook calls Jimin "Jimin-ssi" because from him, it sounds so much like an endearment. The tone he uses with Jimin is drastically different from the tone other members use when they attach the -ssi suffix to each others names. Normally adding -ssi is just another way to indicate respect and maybe a bit of figurative personal distance from the speaker towards the addressee, but it’s notable when Jungkook uses it with Jimin because the way he says it feels almost like…. the opposite lol (kinda like saying “yes sir” when your friend asks you to do something for them but if that “sir” was more, idk, charged)." While I agree it can have references to JM, Jungkook himself told us that he wrote it during the Pandemic while thinking about time with ARMY and missing seeing us face to face. As an avid Jikooker, I like to think he had Jimin in mind, but that is not what JK himself said. It was during FESTA, I'd have to go back and find the reference.

Like we can't find the original full video but only snippet of this clip at other channels but it was certainly a photoshoot... 😅

I actually think the members reaction to the rainy day story was weird. Because why would they feel cringe? Look at namjoon. He heard that jimin and jungkook were fighting so as a leader he should be like "what? Why you didn't tell me?" Furthermore, he only listened halfway of the story and already cringing. Jimin didn't even tell that he and jungkook has made up yet. As a friend, they should feel concern, right? Two friends in your group were fighting, and you didn't even know about it. But what if the two of your friends that were fighting are actually a couple? Of course you would feel like, nah it's a normal thing between couples. And when you hear their story are like those in tv then you would feel ewww cringee. Im single i can't relate to this couple fight

Q. Does the fact that JK sometimes calls Jimin “Jimin-ssi” rather than “Jimin hyung” tell us anything about their relationship? Or is it just a joke that doesn’t mean anything?
I did notice in the BTS Run ep 133 when the group is discussing who did better at the Search King game JK uses the hyung title for both Namjoon and Jimin. But I have wondered before it seems like an unequal form of address JK can say hyung to Jimin but Jimin can’t address him that way in response while “ssi” works both ways, when JK says “Jimin-ssi” Jimin seems to often respond with “Jungkook-ssi”. So am I misunderstanding Korean culture or could this be a sign they are equals in any relationship?
Oh, I can answer that! Euna also already talked about that. If we think about the honorifics at general, Jungkook is very respectful about it, mainly with the hyung line, I can literally count on my fingers the amount of times I've seen him call Namjoon, Jin, Yoongi or Hobi without honorifics. We're talking about 10 years together, and it was on very specific situations (for example Run episode 15, when he is going to challenge Namjoon in a game, he does a challenge pose and call "Kim Namjoon"). He only drops the honorifics when it's on purpose, if he's on authomatic mode, he always uses them. With Tae he drops the honorifics a little bit more, as he's closer to his age, but it's still rare. He drops waaay more with Jimin, and the problem is not only about not using the "hyung", but exactly the other ways he calls him. The "ssi" is supposed to be a very respectful honorific, but he obviously uses it on purpose to tease Jimin, and I love how Jimin teases back or just can't stop laughing. It's even worst when he drops the honorifics naturally, like a slip of tongue, because as I said, in his authomatic mode, in a natural way, he would always add it, but with Jimin, his authomatic mode seems to be the opposite.
Now, I'll just paste what Euna says about it:
"I feel like just in general we lose it anytime Jungkook addresses Jimin without honorifics. Anytime he calls him "Jimin" (or god forbid, Jiminie) we eat that shit up, especially if in context it sounds like a natural slip of the tongue more than a purposeful teasing jab. Culturally, you drop honorifics between people of different ages when you:
1) Make a conscious decision to think of each other as same age friends (i.e what ITS revealed almost happened between maknae line)
2) Are related by blood
3) Are romantically involved (and even here most couples use a mix of honorifics and plain speech even after marriage).
Since we know from the documentary and other instances that Jimin places great importance on honorifics and respecting hierarchy, the little passing moments where he seems to allow Jungkook to flout this line with him might stand out more as evidence of their close bond."
As Euna said, if you make a conscious decision between your friends of thinking of each other as same age, then you could possibly drop the honorifics without worries. The thing is, Jimin cares about honorifics, Jimin likes that Jungkook is his dongsaeng, and there were times where he called out Jungkook for not using them, so between the two of them probably this agreement didn't happen. But then, Jungkook drops way too much the honorifics with him to be a "sometimes" thing, like with the other members, and he does it naturally, what also doesn't happen with the others, so yeah, there's not a lot of explanations left.
About "Jimin-ssi", Euna said:
"I love it when Jungkook calls Jimin "Jimin-ssi" because from him, it sounds so much like an endearment. The tone he uses with Jimin is drastically different from the tone other members use when they attach the -ssi suffix to each others names. Normally adding -ssi is just another way to indicate respect and maybe a bit of figurative personal distance from the speaker towards the addressee, but it’s notable when Jungkook uses it with Jimin because the way he says it feels almost like…. the opposite lol (kinda like saying “yes sir” when your friend asks you to do something for them but if that “sir” was more, idk, charged)."
