Rhonda lived a quiet and simple life in a suburb of Los Angeles. She was a neighbor of a friend of mine and no one in the neighborhood knew of her history with Tina Turner. They learned of her career through the obituary and were in complete shock of her life as she never mentioned it.
Ohh my my how she managed to keep silent about the 🌟star ? she probably didnt wanna gain a fame or pride given that ppl will probably disturb and question lots of historical staff about Tina...you could tell that she was over protective of Tina , she even carefull how she answers questions not to tarnish Tina's name oh woow! a real PA which are so rare in this day in age ....
Personal Assistants usually keep their bosses life & schedule confidential or on a need to know basis. And when your boss is famous, this skill set is taken to a whole new level. It sounded as though there were security/safety concerns that she needed to work around (due to Tina being a celebrity). So it doesn’t surprise me that she kept her work life private and didn’t tell anyone. It is ironic that this video showed up in my U-Tube feed because I’ve been wondering who Tina’s assistant was, after Tina passed away. I’m also an assistant which is why I wondered who helped Tina during her busy career.
I remember Janis Joplin guesting on the Tonight Show and she was asked who her idols and influences were, one who Janis mention was Tina Turner who at that time was a star among Black's but very few whites knew of her and Janis gave Tina big praises and told the audience to look for her in the future because she was gonna be big , really big .
Not quite true that very few whites knew of Tina when Janis made those remarks. Tina had already been on tour with the Rolling Stones at that time, and had a big hit with "River Deep -- Mountain High" in 1966. Her fame was small-ish compared to her uber-success she enjoyed as a solo act, post-Ike, but she wasn't at all unknown to white music fans.

First time I'm seeing this wonderful woman and hearing how much she has loved and assisted Mrs Tina Turner, something we don't see in today's world , dont kno her but I'm saddened by her lost.
I am deeply touched listening to this interview from Rhonda Graam. I would have loved to have met her. The glorious happiness of Tina and her career has met the reality of life. EVERYTHING MUST END. Rest In Peace Rhonda and GOD BLESS TINA.
I LOVE "I Can't Stand the Rain". I am surprised this song was one of Rhonda's favorite songs from Tina. Of course there are so many great songs but this one was an instant favorite for me too. Tina FOREVER!!!
This is just fantastic! Tina has only spoken highly of this woman in her books. Great photos! There is also a lovely tribute to Rhonda and the Tina Turner musical. Check it out!
I’m glad I came across this interview. I first learned about Rhonda Graam in the 1980s through Ms. Turner’s book “I, Tina”. I’m glad they remained connected and friends over those many years. May both of them rest in peace.
Great interview by Rhonda Graam! Revealing insight into Tina Turner's life (onstage & off) by her closest confidant & tour manager/promoter. So sad to hear of Tina's passing today. What a pair of strong, trail blazing women they were! Thanks for all the wonderful music Tina! You were a brave, determined & pioneering icon!

She’s with big big heart I really love her for staying beside Tina when she needed her Tina is fortunate to find her because she never say something bad only appreciation to Tina that’ll called real friendship ❤
Tina had extreme elegance and 'light' in her own interiors 👌 Not garish nor did she ever choose dark, depressing color's. She looked absolutely amazing in a pair of faded denim jeans and a crisp white shirt! I've never seen a photo of Tina with just her own natural hair with the exception of photos from her childhood...I will always love Tina for inspiring me in my youth as well as 'now' 💚
It looks as if Tina straightened her hair. She ran her fingers through her hair quite abit & it looked natural, just straightened, which even I a Hispsnic woman have done. Tina however has a mega amount of hair that I so wish I had a quarter of, lol. Bless her spirit, her beauty & her joy. ❤️

Great interview. You get a sense of how protective Rhonda is of preserving Tina’s privacy as well as lauding her success for all these years. I can understand how Rhonda has remained with Tina for 50 years with this balance in place.
I had forgotten about "I Can't Stand the Rain"! I loved Tina's rendition I Love Tina! So glad you interviewed Rhonda. She is an exceptional woman and a store house of real history. I enjoyed this interview very much!!!
A fabulously straight talking , grounded and sober woman who came into an extraordinary situation & opportunity and became a real asset, loyal friend and manager to an iconic entertainer.
I absolutely loved this interview! Seldom does anyone ever sit down with the people closest to the artist that have been loved and adored for decades. Hearing stories about the history of working with someone like Tina, amazing. Sad hearing that this lovely lady is no longer with us. I'm sure Tina feels the absence from her life.
Fascinating. Rarely do fans have any idea what it takes to put a production together. I had no clue. Overwhelming doesn't begin to describe it. I'm thinking what it must take to coordinate the Cirque du Soleil empire. Good grief. Very well done. Thank you.
Rip Rhonda. You was a very important person in Tina s life. You and Tina are holding hands and hugging in heaven. Rip to the Queen of Rock Tina as well🙏
One of the greatest memories I have is taking my Dad & at that time, 16 year old daughter to see this LEGEND. She's correct, she's a performer first, singer 2nd but both equal out of this world talent. She's without a doubt the best & most iconic concert I have ever been to, & 2nd was Celine Dion. Tina had Joe Cocker open for her & that was freaking awesome too. My daughter is 36 years old now & she still talks about seeing Tina & how iconic it was for her. My Daddy bought her a T-shirt of course & she painted it on canvas & it looks just like the T-shirt. ❤🙆♂️💯 Still blessed & thankful to have seen this Legend 💞 Love you Ms. Turner
Lucas, I am in awe. A lot of interviwers need to learn from you. You are simply the best! Eloquent, allow them to answer the questions in their own time, you ask very interesting questions, most importantly, you do your homework, and deliver an amazing end result!!!! Well done! I loved every bit of it.
You are amazing to be such a great friend to Tina Turner. I'm glad I got to hear your story. This is good for black people to know a friendships like this. It makes me smile!
Loved, loved, really loved, the footage of Tina performing " The Best" at the end . Incredibly giving, joyful, raw... an inspiration. Enjoy your retirement with your loving husband Dear Tina. Always in my Heart. I'm grateful that Rhonda gave us this interview too. Happy 2021 to all of you and the fans around the world. Kisses, Hugs and sending you all my Love.
Very good interview with really good questions with an other very strong and interesting woman...I think that Tina is very lucky to have that woman near to her...a match made in heaven...kindda. Being dutch myself it is nice to know that Tina has recorded many songs in Amsterdam and has a special place in her heart for my little country. [EDIT] Just learned she passed on..We are fortunate to have this interview with her. Must be a real blow and loss for Tina..RIP Rhonda
Wow nice interview..u can tell she's very genuine and loyal to Tina's friendship and business partner ..and u can tell she has respect for Tina by not wanting to discuss Tina's bad past incidents involving Ike Turner or even refrain s from speaking negative or bad about her at all and for someone her age seems to be taking care of herself and I'm surprised she carries this interview very well and professional and keeps up with the questions very well without hardly being forgetful on her recollection of the times she was with Ike and Tina during their 1960s hey day on the road tour schedule.. she's a nice lady
Thank you for this informative interview with Rhonda Graam. Tina’s Road Mgr. I never knew this, she was like a Sister from another mother& color. Lol. So classy, dedicated & professional. She was a Godsend to Tina& her Band during the Jim Crow era& Segregation. Thanks also to Mrs. Robbie. Tina & her Revue were Blessed to have you in her corner. Businesswoman Exordinaire. R.I.P. Rhonda Graam. You were the Best as Well. 35:17
Yes she was working with her and her family f..ups like her ronnie drug problem rhonda was who put him in to the treatment facility. And she saw craig after his kill himself that’s real bad . And she live very close to Tina evil mom . To help her when tina is away.
Rhonda is a phenomenal woman in her own right. She sure smashed some barriers during her career! Being a female manager of any kind (artist manager, tour manager, etc.) in the music business was unheard of in the 1960s. Being a female manager of anything was a rarity back at that time. I think Rhonda may have been the only one in the entertainment industry then. The other thing that Rhonda and Tina broke down is the race barrier that existed during that era. I’m sure there were white male managers of black entertainers, but black male managers of white groups I bet there weren’t near as many. White females-nope. This was BEFORE desegregation!
Yes it was very rare for artists to have a female manager but they existed and flourished and some owned major companies! I can think of three important managers for important artists. Johnny Mathis' manager was Helen Noga, the co-owner of the Black Hawk club in San Francisco where Mathis got his start. The Black Hawk was a setting for several famous recordings from Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Mongo Santamaria, Dave Brubeck, Ahmad Jamal and Cal Tjader and Shelley Manne. Miriam Bienstock founded Atlantic records with Ahmet Ertegun. She really ran the money aspect of Atlantic and kept it afloat including managing major artists at the label for decades, including Ray Charles, the Coasters and Ruth Brown. Sue Mengers was such a legendary and formidable talent manager/agent that Bette Midler played her on Broadway. Mengers had a notorious feud with one of her clients, someone named Barbra.
I loved this interview in light of the recent saddening situation... I'm so happy to have seen this but then I see Ms. Graam passed. I'm so sorry to see this... I was simply astonished by the fact that she was by Tina Turner's side since I was born... I'm blown away and now sad to hear. God bless Ms. Graam. Talk about loyalty... integrity... devotion. Tina was truly blessed to have had her throughout her entire journey.
Tina's costumes was very fascinating and fabulous when she performed on stage and when she dance it flows she always had short dresses and suits and luxury coats and hats you go tina
Wow! This was a fantastic interview! I found it very wonderful, and interesting! Especially about the segregation from the 1960,'s and how they got paid! I could tell Rhonda didn't take no mess about the money -them getting paid, she made sure they did get paid! She was so informative about the business and the group. She was indeed a friend to Tina, and Miss Robbie I love 💕 her ,she had a great show!So sad to hear that Rhonda passed,I could have listened to her all day talking about Tina and the business and the group! Rest in peace Rhonda and Tina! Both are so truly missed 😢😢!
When I turned 18 I went to the Cinnamon Cinder in Long Beach to see the Righteous Bothers. They checked my ID and wished me Happy Birthday. I first saw Tina and Ike at a little hole in the wall dance joint in Santa Ana, CA near Main Place Mall. I was mesmerized. I loved to dance and her music was show stopping. From there they appeared at a more upscale place (but not much) in Costa Mesa called Fat Fingers. I never saw them again in person, darn it, but followed her career the rest of her life. Simply the Best!
This interview sucks on so many levels. First this guy is trying to make Rhonda the great white hope. Ike was the steam behind that show. White folk always trying to give credit to white folk on black success. Secondly, all white media harp on Ike’s abuse of Tina. So much more was going on
@@cajunpeach1261 Well thanks for expressing your opinion so freely. I wish it had been posted somewhere not associated with my comment, however. You've heard the old expression, "if you have nothing nice say", if not look it up and heed the advice. The world would be a better place.
It was great to learn of Rhonda… Tina had good reason to not keep touring and recording, wish I could have seen her musical, but Covid took that away. Tina is just missed and always simply the best!✨♥️💫👋🏽🤚🏼
GREAT INTERVIEW, just wish you would have asked the questions 1] who controls the IKE & TINA catalog ? [ is there more unseen performance footage ] 2] who will control the TINA catalog when she leaves the planet ? 3] does Tina have any concerts footage of songs performed LIVE that we never got to see and want to see ? [ because she had a lot of concerts 4] are there songs that were recorded but haven't been released ? 5] does RHONDA ever visit or see the TURNER CHILDREN ? be so nice if you would have asked them questions, but the interview was great WE LOVE TINA TURNER
I'd love to get the info for your question 1 since I've been collecting their music and there so many 45" songs which have never been released somewhere else: Not in compilations, LP's nor Cd's. Of course not digitally.
Amazing video! What blessing that Tina had her in her life! Cudos to her for the strength and support she gave her thru the years. RIP to her loyal friend. ❤
Fabulous interview. What a job and professional history Rhonda had with Tina. Experience of lifetime, and a very wonderful story to hear. May they both be reunited, and enjoy a blessed and well earned peace. Lived well and did well.
I like how she refused to drag Ike through the mud. Lord knows that's been done enough already. One thing she said that caught my ear (and Tina has acknowledged it, as well) is that she "learned" from Ike. In spite of all the negativity towards Ike, people seem to forget that without him, there would be no Tina Turner.
RIP Ms Tina Turner, Legend, Icon, trailblazer,Queen, wife, mother, sister, daughter, singer, dancer, actress, Superstar! Tina Turner, we will miss you ❤
you can respect the art of the artist and still disapprove of the personal actions of Mr. Turner. Yes, he wrote great songs and put together a great band, was a great musician. Tina was the star of the show; that's just the way it goes. He could've been kinder and not-abusive, and he wouldn't have earned a bad reputation. He's responsible for ruining his reputation and future.
You obviously don't know the Truth. It was Tina who was violent and not ike. When Tina went solo a feminist group thought it was a good idea to reverse Tina's identity or reputation with Ikes. Ike died owned a non profit that helped women get way from domestic violent homes. It was Tina who beat him and other women. Tina actually used to be pimped in Tennessee and she violently abused the girls if they came up short on money. You had to be local in Tennessee to know this about her. Tina was in showbusiness a long time and Ike is the one who put up his money to get her out of that street life and into show business where she was obviously happier... so a lot of people in Tennessee know the truth about Tina. And since Ike was a huge mentor to kids and the community,a lot of people who know him have big respect for him. He did.have a stint where he did do drugs but he got arrested and wasn't productive. Not violent. According to everyone and this is mostly Church ministers and court judges, they all say that was Tina.
This was an Amazingly Beautiful interview, this history and knowledge Rhonda shares is so very refreshing. Tina was an amazing entertainer and has given so much to the world. I am grateful to been given the opportunity to evolve through her wonderful journey of music and the power or taking control of her abusive encounter with ike. She is the epitome of courage and strength, may she rest well with the ancestors. Phenomenal interview 👏🏽 🙌🏾 ❤. I Can't Stand The Rain, is my favorite🙏🏽💖
This woman must have been very young when she started working for ike & tina. I saw a documentary from 20 years ago & she looked like a really young woman in 2000. So in 1964 I cant imagine. She had to be like 18 to 21
Thank you very much Lucas, for this wonderful documentary. For me, Tina Turner was a Rock star and did not know much about her personal life, I just loved to hear her songs song by that unique voice so full of energy. Obviously Rhonda Graam was pivotal for Tina. May both of them Rest In Peace. Maybe one day I'll pay a visit to the great town of Brownsville, TN.
Rhonda was a Woman of Class I love and respect her honesty, you can tell she loved Tina and will not Railroad her. May you rest in Peace and Tranquility.❤❤

So many artists nowadays are manufactured, Tina made it because of her talent.......no lip synching for this star. I'm glad she had someone like Rhonda in her life that she could have 100 percent trust with, a true friend.

Great interview. You get a sense of how protective Rhonda is of preserving Tina’s privacy as well as lauding her success for all these years. I can understand how Rhonda has remained with Tina for 50 years with this balance in place.
very true, my analysis as well , she has proven to be a trusted PA for Tina
I had forgotten about "I Can't Stand the Rain"! I loved Tina's rendition I Love Tina! So glad you interviewed Rhonda. She is an exceptional woman and a store house of real history. I enjoyed this interview very much!!!
A fabulously straight talking , grounded and sober woman who came into an extraordinary situation & opportunity and became a real asset, loyal friend and manager to an iconic entertainer.
💯% agreed. This was a real treat. Old-school help to these acts were more than employees.
Thank you.
@catheline51 🤗 Some people just have a natural skill or nack for doing that, it's not something that everybody can do!
I'm so happy to have found this interview. RIP Rhonda Graam.
Fabulous interview! I especially liked Ms. Graam's story about catching venue operators re-selling tickets. Brava!
Turner
Thanks for posting this. Without this interview we might never have learnt so much about her role in Ike and Tina Turners career.
THANKS FOR UPLOADING THIS BEAUTYFUL INTERVIEW WITH RONDA GRAAM , SHE'S THE WOMAN WHO KEEP'S TINA GOING ALL OVER THE YEARS 💖
Loved, loved, really loved, the footage of Tina performing " The Best" at the end .
Wow, I didn't know she was still working with her! That is awesome! She has been there since the beginning!
This was BEFORE desegregation!
tina and rhonda what a team lol ....rip rhonda x
Indeed

Thanks for this interview Rhonda and thank you for looking out for our Tina all these years. Prayers for your peace and comfort
Rhonda, you obviously did a fab job managing the great Tina -saw her at the Cave in Vancouver,in late 70’s. RIP Rhonda
RIP Rhonda. ❤ You were very respectful and loyal to Tina. TY
⚘️🙏
REST IN PEACE RHONDA 🥺💔
RIP
Rhonda is a legend in the music business. I hope she writes her memoirs.
How? 🤷🏻♂️
@@MrWmJosephSmithIII😂😂😂
She died in 2021.
God Bless you, Rhonda. May you rest in peace. I know Tina must miss you a lot.
Thank you for sharing this and Huge Thanks to Miss Rhonda Graam for being so Amazing!!!!
Terrific interview. I was never aware of her. I love to hear these behind the scenes stories.
That in clip of her singing Simply the Best is so endearing look at all those beautiful young faces just looking on to Greatness once again thank you
Enjoyed this. I've always wanted to hear from those who worked closely with Tina... Thank you.
Another Tom In Ohio what a treasure To hear Ronda Graham talk about Tina Turner they look to be very close in age toTina yes i love this interview
They look to be very close in the same age
What a great interview! I've heard her name over the years but never really seen or heard from her. This was great.
I counted 6 questions you didn't count one of the questions.
I love Tina Turner, she is a strong woman who has overcome so much. A true icon!
Ok ….we all go through something…but to side with the enemy….have at it
White women….ie…Elizabeth Taylor went through something but she didn’t go run to a black man….anyway…duces
I just check all of your interviews. I love them.
She's had a great career, now its HER time to enjoy life with her husband Erin. She will always be "Simply The Best".
Imo there will never be another. Regarded as the most hardest working woman in entertainment history.
We love, Tina Turner rest in peace, Tina turner❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Let Ike rot in hell. He is not God.
Ike discovered Tina, but he didn't make her a legend. Tina did that herself.
According to everyone and this is mostly Church ministers and court judges, they all say that was Tina.
never knew about her ! what a super cool lady , like she said she was a jack of all trades indeed . Much Respect 🙌🏼👏🏼🫶🏼👍🏼
both beautiful and remarkable women 👍😻❤️✌️
What a score!💃💝great interview 💝
That interview impressed me much , really . What a great woman . She should write a book about that. If she has not done it yet.
Read the description. She died in 2020
@@debbiemartin2026 Sorry I did not get it before I posted my comment. Thanks .
Rhonda was a Woman of Class I love and respect her honesty, you can tell she loved Tina and will not Railroad her.
May you rest in Peace and Tranquility.❤❤
Thank you Rhonda Graam. You should write a book of your life experience. You're a treasure. Thoroughly enjoyed your interview lovely lady xoxox
I believe she has passed. She died before Tina.
Sim, morreu antes de tina, foram vários do grupo da Tina Turnner , que faleceram. Ronda em 2021.
Wonderful interview :) thank you for sharing. You can definitely tell she’s a no nonsense lady. RIP Rhonda, RIP Tina 🙏 both incredible women
Thank you for this very interesting, informative, and lovely interview. I enjoyed the pictures of Tina and all her celebrity friends. I wonder what Shirley Bassey was saying to her that had Tina laughing. What great memories of time gone by. LORD willing will meet Tina and Rhonda one day in Heaven. Thank you Lucas.
Sharp as a tack, much love to both
What a cool lady, and a legendary on her own!
Tina’s picture in the thumbnail is so full of energy…really great capture.
I think i saw this when you first released it, appreciate more this second time, really was amazing because Rhonda was with Tina from the beginning until the end ... RIP ⚘️ would luv for you to catch up with Edna (Lajun) 🥰
Rest in peace, Tina turner. We love you so much.😢😢
No nonesense straight to the point and smart. I can see why she was so important to them.
Resembles Bette Davis to me.

Those kids in the background while she's singing The Best don't know how lucky they are!
You don't say!❤
A legendary personal assistant/close-confidant, to a legendary diva, megastar, rockstar, you name it..
Enjoyed tremendously. Thank you.
Tina reminded me a lot of Little Richard. Her positivity, dynamic presence, talent and many other endearing qualities ✝
@Donna di Lode you need serious help. your family should put you in a mental institution
I’m thinking Wilson Pickett.😊
Bravo for an excellent interview that is not pretentious or phony adjust Queen Mother Tina Turner was truthful Raw and organically deliberate. Thank you for showing this I came across them in a timely manner
This woman is intelligent, articulate, and capable. Bravo
So many artists nowadays are manufactured, Tina made it because of her talent.......no lip synching for this star. I'm glad she had someone like Rhonda in her life that she could have 100 percent trust with, a true friend.
Wonder if Rhonda knew Tina’s dark past, according to Judge Joe Brown account, Tina was a violent gagster pimp in Memphis ?
Facinating interview. What a special relationship and how we could learn from these women. Thank you for posting.
Rhonda certainly paid her dues.
Rhonda used her white priveledge to get them gigs during the jim crow era.For that alone...we gotta give her credit.R I.P Rhonda.Shout out to all of the road managers, publicists, promoters and even band members and light technicians and people who set up the equipment and the bodyguards too! We too often forget these people. They are just as important as the big acts.
Fascinating ❤
Really Good listening.....warm open and detailed....couldn't be better. Thank you both for this....
She lies
Im always amazed more of the behind the scenes ...... more of a 360 degree view, than the artist themselves
Great interview!!! RIP TINA !!!!
❤ No doubt about it Tina Turner is and always will be Simply The Best. ❤ RIP 🙏 angel Tina 😇 you'll be missed by millions 😢 love you always 😢🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️🇦🇺🇦🇺
