Gary freaking Willis. A living legend.
Gary Willis and Lenny White are the soul of this quartet. Brilliant.
Gary Willis is the best thing that happened on fretless bass since Jaco.
Gary Willis is playing the GWB205E here, signature on the headstock, ebony board. Nice!
WOOW BIRELI ON FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After many great years with Tribal Tech, glad to see Gary Willis "blast off" with some hardcore jazzers!
Lenny White's such an O.G.. Did you listen to that drum solo? No one plays drums like that but him. 💯👍👏
That's one happy little hi-hat lol
One of the best ever jazz guitarist of all times
and a fantastic piano palyer, a galactic bass player and a exquisite, explosive drummer
@@dariobottura7060 and he is also an amazing singer.. check out his "blue eyes" album, he has the same voice as frank sinatra
@@dariobottura7060 he plays piano and drums as well? I've seen him on bass and he's amazing at that so no surprise i guess
My God.... This is out of this world!!!
🔥🔥 this performance is fire, 5:23 even lenny white's drumstick say please stop, absolutely amazing performance
Is it just me, or did they seem to feel awkward with the vibe going on?? I was having a hard time getting into the flavor of the drums, and you could see it in everyone else's face too, Ida know, maybe it's just me...
They look a bit shy... few interaction between them. It´s really awkward cause it feels that they are not too comfortable with the drumming of Lenny.
You are right
I guess they’re pretty concentrated, not shy. Got to stay focused with this kind of champions league jazz. These guys are in top gear even within the first chorus of their solos. Beasts! No overplaying for my taste, but certainly no easy listening😄
The best Guitarist There is whether jazz or Gypsyjazz
Amazing to watch! I feel like a kid in a candy store. 🇺🇲🤓
Notice how time happens when the guitar player gets to start.
Can't you see them all?
Blue Note Milano!! I’m sure I’d feel like a foreigner unable to speak Italiano. But in this club, I wouldn't feel I’m a foreigner because I understand the same language : JAZZ!!
BTW, Antonio Faraò is a great find!
where is the whole concert ?
That piano solo was a tough act to follow.
Antonio Farad is a beast. Nice touch on the piano!
This is insane
These musicians epitomize jazz sound for me in this video. If you are a parent and you like jazz it is your duty to introduce your children to jazz like this so that at least they know what real jazz sounds like.
when they become 18

@@robertvanruyssevelt7159 gracias
Jason Statham Nails it in the piano!!!!
😂😂
😂
How can one as drummer just ignore the bass and push the soloists into the ground all the time,as if he were the only soloist.......this drumming is just bad . Doesn't matter ,if it's Lenny White.
I'm familiar with everyone but the pianist - wow.
Lennies' on Fire, stoking' the flames....perfect performance, giving the kick, the propulsion. Note perfect! If listeners cannot keep up, so be it!
mr ex tribal tech meets meets mr ex return to forever meets the bireli monster and where did that other guy some from ? a bit mccoy tyner like
so good! , love Lenny's contribution ' This swings.
Super solo de Birelli !!!! Bravo !!!!
😎
I loved Gary's performance here
Awesome!!!!!
REAL JAZZ MUSICIANS!!!!!
🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🔥🔥👌🏿👌🏿
Yamaha sa2200, the most gorgeous semi on the market.
I think so
Larry Coryell, Ryo Kawasaki, Rodney Jones and many other great jazz guitarists use(-ed) Yamaha SA’s. To my ear, while the Gibson 335 sounds more bluesy, the Yamaha SA sounds more jazzy.
@@jimtakahashi4638 Oh yes !
yamaha beautiful haha
Willis ineccepibile, complimenti.
Im a big fan of Lenny White but I thought his drumming was a little too "outside of the box" on this one.
wrecking the whole thing. You can even see the awkwardness it is causing.
2 years later and I disagree with my statement lol. I thought It really a great solo and I love the sort of "clumsiness" to it. Reminds me of Elvin a bit
Congratulations to the TV director, we never see the pianist's right hand hahaha !!!!!
Wow! So much energy and incredible music in the bones of the listener. Modern mainstream with a hint of bues. Just a hint. So nostalgic to see Lenny White still at the top of the game. Really a return to forever... Willis: what else to say that has not been said yet... tribal phrasing under his fngers. Bireli and Antonio... killer combo... bravo!
Not bad at all. I didn’t know Lenny was a southpaw drummer, only that he kicked ass.
At a distance, it looks like the house piano. On the speakers, it sounds like a CP70.
Nod to Pat Martino around 5:14..
Lenny White is chanelling Tony . Also reminds me of the great Marvin “Smitty” Smith . Higher consiousness form of playing rather than just ding dinga ding .
Mr Leny is overplaying.
Gary Willis oh my god
O maior guitarrista do mundo
I can't believe Jason Statham can play piano so well ... ;-)
hahahahahahahahaha......oh, man, you made my day!!!!!
i had same thought XD
To me the drums sound like they got kind of an Afro-Cuban thing going ------ It's all pretty cool with me.
& they say Jazz is difficult to listen to .. can't sing along ,, can't dance to it.. well ,,, if it's in 11/8
i like *faraò* 'cause he fits into different songs with different approaches. all 4 are brilliant!
BIRD LIVES!! opps wrong video sorry! 😁
7:00 :)
Lenny is great - I hear a lot of Tony's drumming as well...
I was thinking the exact same thing. Anthony "Tony" Williams.
Straight ahead jazz drumming at its apex!
Just Mean!
Scary stuff
Jason Statham plays piano pretty well
10 bpm -...makes more music porn
Super musicians! Farao, Outstanding!!!
Faraò is a Martian
And he's got your initials. Strange.
Wow! The greatest piano solo ever
INSANE ...lovely.....smooth all the way
espectacular , gracias por compartirlo
I love bireli. But Here the playing is too busy. Even the piano player was too much. Drums too loud and involved. I love them but i did not enjoy the performance, i think this kinf of things get People bored by jazz.
i agree the drums a little bit too loud, but the 'busy' stuff you call i LOVE this. this is exactly the stuff im searching for
@@joejoe5921Yeah I am with you and personally I get tired of people criticizing players that happen to have a lot of ideas as being to busy. This was all completely musical to me!
❤❤❤
Grandi
Wow!!!!!!!!!
🤭
Jazz Juggernaut!
c est enorme la cohesion
le batteur!
killer performance
Matter of personal preference and reaction, thanks to Gary Willis for the most part, the guys swung hard A.F.! Great performance.
fenomeno"!
Morri.
unbelievable band!
Awesome!
Good Band !
Mah! Tanto fumo poco arrosto ...
what king of jazz is this? te genre i mean
bebop
Hardbop
Pro
Bit overplaying on Farao part throughout but still great.
Farao is a beast but he has a habit... or style ... of disregarding the actual changes and just getting that modern Chromatic use of quartals sound.. gets a little annoying after a while
man that drumming is wrecking the vibe big time.
disagree big time. You obviously don't know good drumming when you hear it. It is a bit too loud perhaps in the mix, but come on!
nah bruv i know good drumming, and sure it is too loud in the mix, but the sound, ughh. I mean listen to bireli play with andre ceccarelli. the kit sounds like a P/o/s as well. shieeet never been a fan of lenny white's playing, no disrespek. i'm sure i could be more forgiving but this is major buzzkill. causes the damn pianist to over compensate the whole way thru too.
I kind of agree. I really like Lenny White, but this sounds almost like someone is emptying a dishwasher. Must be having a bad night, 'cause otherwise the man can really play!
I thought it was fun
Sounds bitchin to me
With all due respect to all the other great guitarist we may witnessing the greatest guitarist on the planet. That bass player ain't shabby either he's awesome. Drummer lacks a bit.
Of course, Lenny White “lacks a bit”
Que maravilha!...
Where are the II-V-I's that are so significant for this tune? If you always play outside, there is no tune left. They drown the harmonics with additions. Virtuose? Yes. But the bridge is hard to distinguish from the a-part. A mash of the same harmonies is the result.
You have to buy Q tips
The purpose is to explore and not be bound by static structures. McCoy Tyner vibes.
They work hard to play the best music they can,but the listeners need to do their home work too. Your comment says that you still need some time to be able to fully follow them. Time will tell.
