Was the noise you were hearing a slight knocking sound every half second or so? I got one today and that's what I'm hearing but I can't quite tell if I'm hearing it in your video. Seems to be a common issue with this particular clock.
I have the same clock and it has the gear sounds as well, but note a few things first before counting it as a con. The clock itself has a gear theme with gear art all over it. This clock is a collectors edition, it seems possible to me as a collectors edition, Seiko would purposefully put neat artifical gear sounds in the clock to add to the theme as a way to make it distint from other musical clock models.
Thank you for sharing your awesome clock with us! While it is still a lovely clock in it's own right, I am sad that the models are looking less elaborate. The ones from years prior (especially the fairies model) had stellar clock work/mechanics.
Nice video! You’re usually the first one to review the new Collector’s Editions! :) Although this nearly looks identical to last year’s (QXM382BRH) and Mode A is the same as 2018’s (QXM377BRH), they’ve added 6 new melodies in Mode B.
depends on your lighting situation. I would say close to a year, but if you are in a room that stays lit...and chimes more times throughout the year...then less.
Hi, I just open my clock. Set it up and hit demo... Heard the gears only as it opened and twirled. It has not played music or done anything other than keep time for the last 3 hours. Do you have any idea other than go grab new batteries?
is the volume up to max? If yes return it. Could be something got knocked around in shipping and the wires could have gotten disconnected from internal speaker.
make sure the minute hand is in the “12” position, to do that, turn the hand to that time, or wait until it strikes, it won’t work when in the dark. make sure the light is on.
there are categories, but you cannot choose which song in the category plays. They go in a pre established order depending on what category of songs you pick.
Yes I have the same issue. But I can't hear it all the time...if I am right next to it I only notice it if I try...disappointed in the quality check control tbh
I love Seiko but it’s disappointing how they’ve continue to cycle the movement since 2013. I love the steam punk design, but they all look the same now and it’s sad.
Just by the look am having a hard timing as my focus is on the moving numbers and not on the dial to find the time, this is a mystery and looks more like wall art than clock

Can you turn off option of music every hour? Also, what is that bumping sound I heard. Hope its not the clock or gears.
yes you can turn off the music, I am not sure about the bumping sound.

Mine is not very loud like my old one, are they suppose to be loud I cannot hear mine in other rooms
Can you shut off the bottom part crystals from spinning or are they spinning all the time?

Replace batteries first. The batteries that come with it are doo doo
make sure the batteries are new and not dead, as well the volume is up, and make sure you installed the batteries correctly.

Make sure the volume is up, install new batteries, set the mode to A, B, or C. Not off, because that will silence the clock’s melody.
The little pendullium on the bottom of the clock quit turning. I replaced the batteries it is still not working.
Is you clock sitting at an odd angle?
make sure your clock is in the right angle, or standing up. Make sure it is up in the wall for best performance.
