Biggest thing Brunson missed out on was working with all these generational players closely for 2 months. Typically a few young players really grow to another level after the Olympics, weve seen it all the time.
Even after FIBA 2023, a lot of the guys on that team made a leap this past season. So, I expect ant and Hali to make huge jumps coming into next season.

@@justanobody0 That's just not the relevant criterion to use to construct the team; they're trying to win the Olympics not give awards for the best American NBA players. Brunson was given the keys to last year's FIBA team pretty much from Day 1 and was outplayed by Ant, Bridges, and Hali and the team failed to medal.
International rules just seem to punish Brunson's exact archetype-undersized ball-pounding scorers reliant on driving to the paint-since there's no defensive three seconds. It places a premium on pull-up shooters with size which is why KD and Melo are the greatest Olympic players of all time and why Booker was favored even though he's not as good as Brunson in a vacuum.
Other than drawing charges, Brunson doesn't bring a complementary skillset like the other guards do: Ant/Jrue have their defense, Hali is the only elite facilitator other than LeBron, and Steph is the greatest off-ball player of all time (and will be playing with a shorter three-point line to boot).
