The DEF Doser does not effect the temperature during an active regeneration. It is used only to combat Nitrogen Oxide in the SCR and is mounted after the DPF Filter downstream. The truck uses the turbo actuator, 7th injector, and DOC to heat up to spec.
The DEF fluid does actually create heat in the SCR. The reaction that occurs and changes the gases is an "exothermic reaction" and creates heat. And if is sprays to much fluid or dribbles the fluid out it can cool the SCR and cause "ammonia slip." The SCR can also get dirty and clogged as well as the DPF filter. If the Doser is not spraying properly the system can abort the cleaning/heating. We made this video in layman terms and it isn't a video teaching about how the SCR and DPF work. I have a 2016Cascadia and had constant def issues and shop changed nox sensors and def pump dpf filters dozer valve and still kept having issues costing me thousands of dollars. Then I came across a video about the def metering valve and while it was expensive like you were saying right away on first regen I noticed the difference in regen temp in the first 5 to 10 min the codes popped back up and 5 min later were gone after cycle ran codes check again codes were cleared and gone. Freightliner kept telling me my one box needed replaced. Saving me from a ten thousand dollar job.
Great info...and a real shocker that these dosers should be replaced every year! I've got DEF crystals hanging down and am sure this is the problem since it's never been changed on a 2015 with 74k miles!

When these systems started coming out they said to clean your filters every 500k miles. Now the brought it down to 100k to 150k 😂😂 most of them are easy fixes like my man here said. Thanks
Put it in a garbage can filled with water and liquid plumber gel max keep moving it around wear rubber gloves and keep dumping the water in and out until it's shiny like new wash the drain slash acid off good so it dont keep eating the metal...ps shines all metal to new

So I have a kenworth 2016 with a pack car motor T680 Just had the whole DPF system replaced replaced filters everything sensors and guess what now my truck is having A problem again I paid thousands of dollars to have that system replace and and apparently it's doing the same issue as before they said they had to replace the filters because they were cracked or had a hole in them or something I or something I did not know you could damage them when you're pulling them out that's funny probably what happened but if you could do a video about the suit level centers it'd be much appreciated if there's something about maybe needing cleaned is what somebody told me

I have a 2013 kenworh t800 cummins isx 485. I saw this message from my dashboard that "Regen is inhibited due to switch". My boost on the guage registers 20. But the exhaust pipe is extremely hot such that when I placed my finger to it, it burnt my skin. It has not gotten to a derate mode yet. Do you think replacing the doser injector will take care of the regeneration? Please advise
sounds like your reganeration swith is in manuel mode. if your truck has that you can swith it to auto. if you havent replaced your doser injecter in the last few years you should do it.
After installation of the valve do I have to reset computer or is just plug and play..I thought about mine but didn't want to tamper with it because I was afraid it would mess up computer readings

eBay, but you may have to wait 2 months to get them at that price, we have them right now for $30. I'll see about the video. it's pretty easy to change but if you don't do it right the dowser doesn't work property and you have to take it all apart again and you may have engine codes that need to be cleared. sometimes the extra money for the whole dowser is worth the less potential headaches.
My 2015 paccar goes into limp mode every time I turn it on due to SCR fault code. I can clear it to drive but it appears the doser isn't getting def. Just got it out of the shop a couple weeks ago for a different dpf issue. I replaced the doser and it didn't do the trick. Could it be the pump?
I need some help with my 2014 D13 i've been having problem with getting the temperature higher than 240 on T! and 230 on T2 while doing regen. i change 7 injector which was not clog but i change, i change the AHI , i change the SCR injector dozer valve. No luck there is no code that i can look for it. any suggestion i will appreciate.I also did the reseting and nothing the truck went into derate 5 mile and doesn't want to let go. and when i mean is not hot is that i can put my hand and leave it touching the piece where is mounted the dozer valve and it wont burn.

You should call video dosage valve replqce, because i didn't see any dosage valve spray test or eats system diagnostics (nothing) :) but otherwise good vid :)
I contacted Kenworth and got the part number. I just received the dossier valve that I purchased on eBay, yep they have them all day. It was $32.49! The gasket was $48. I am going to install it tomorrow morning. Wish me luck! Also, you can find Nox Sensors, for around $150.

you can't get out of limp mode unless you go to a dealer. maximum derate is 5mph.

If there is no engine light on and you replace the senor, everything will be fine, but if the light is on, replacing the sensor will not clear it.

yes it could be the pump. or the filer in the def tank is dirty. If it has the orginal 2015 def filter its long over due to replace it.

Once it is in derate you have to take it to a place with a computer that can clear the code. without seeing it there are a lot of possibilities

dont know anything about jeep diesel, but if it has def, then it has a def injector.
