I am happy you picked up on the fact that Sabaton gave no allegiance to either side-- they will be the first to tell you that they tell stories (true stories), they never pick sides but sometimes they will write a song from the perspective of a particular country or person. Sabaton will take you on one helleva journey into military history, if you let them!
Sabaton has 8 albums of historical songs - you have a lot to go through. They also have a Sabaton History Channel that provides the history behind the songs...
They have recently became more popular. They are a Swedish power metal band as mentioned and all their songs are about history usually war battles. They also have a history youtube channel where they explain the story of their songs. The band members love history and metal and have found a way to combine them together. Their songs aren't necessarily about Swedish wars or themes, any war counts. This song was about Bismarck a german battleship from WWII. It was the best battleship in the entire world the germans thought it invisible but eventually british navy had more ships and carriers and they lost. There are a lot of details in the video and they are really trying to be accurate to the story behind song. Its really a good way to learn about history this way and enjoy good music. At least for me the biggest thing about them is the stories behind their songs and the way they can tell it in a song, instrumentals are less the issue (although they have awesome guitar solos 😉).
Awesome reaction man. and thanx for the shout-out! If you really want to go down the Sabaton rabbit-hole, I would reccomend these: (These are all from the Sabaton Channel, and they never block videos so it's safe to use) [live at Woodstock 2012]: 40:1 and Uprising [Great Tour Live Videos]: En Livstied I Grieg, Red Baron, Swedish Pagans, Primo Victoria, Fields of verdun, Devil Dogs & Angels Calling [Lyric videos]: Attack of the dead men, In Flanders Fields, 82nd All the way, Sparta, Shiroyama and The lost betallion [Music Video's]: Fields of Verdun, Rourke's Drift, Screaming Eagles, Uprising & Seven Pillars of wisdom [Covers]: Kingdom Come - Deliverance
This video was produced by Wargaming, the company behind games such as World of Warships and World of Tanks. They're long-time sponsors of the band, who have their own tank in WoT. The band has played at gaming conventions where Wargaming was featured. This song and video came to be, because Wargaming wanted a song to promote the release of their Bismarck model in World of Warships. Sabaton, lacking a suitable song, realized fans had been asking them for it for nearly ten years, too, so to please both sides, they decided to create a brand new song. If you look at the old fisherman (who is supposed to represent the last surviving crew member of the Bismarck, who IRL died shortly before the video was made), the compass he holds has coordinates engraved in them. They mark the location of the wreck of the actual Bismarck.
I guess Sabaton is considered power metal but the bass player Pär Sandstrom makes 2 good points: power metal mostly involves high pitched vocals and fantasy themes; neither of these apply to Sabaton!
@@bennysavagemusic SABATON - Carolus Rex (Live - The Great Tour - Stockholm) SABATON - En Livstid I Krig (Live - The Great Tour - Gothenburg) Both amazing live performances.

Almost no one catches the watch! The Watch people! It's important. Just know that the numbers scratched on the inside cover are 48 10 N 16 12 W. The location where the Bismarck went down.
Except: In the Name of God (about terrorists/ terrorism), they definetly pick a side on that one... but thats different from their usual story choices.
@@miiah7475 Keep in mind that was in their very early days. On their first few albums, they weren't as neutral as they are now and only later decided, when their musicianship and songwriting matured, to be less one-sided.
@@AO968 I agree + I think it's VERY understandable not to take neutral position with terrorism. (since it allways by definition targets innocent people)
The band is from Sweden. The Bismarck was a German battleship in WW2, the biggest of its kind. Another song of theirs that you should listen it is Night Witches. ua-cam.com/video/5YPo8zDkvy4/v-deo.html
I have literally watched every single fucking reaction on YT to this video and only you noticed the old article in that frame when the were in the office, cred to u! Last but not least yes it is power metal as you thought :D
Thank you to World of Warships for creating the amazing battle scene for this video. All the ships and fighting were created using CGI, then used Live Action actors placed into the scene. This is just one example of some of World of Warship's amazing battle scenes they can make. BTW- World of Warships is a free to play warship game.
Just got into Sabaton this year. Love their music and the history lesson you get, usually unknown and interesting. Great reaction, you definitely need to check out Red Baron by Sabaton.
If you are strict, Sabaton wouldn't be Power Metal, because Power Metal has mostly this aspects of fantasy in it. But they break the stereotype and are a history-power metal Band. If you ever want to learn history an headband at the same time go for Sabaton. Oh and what the leadsinger has, it is not a bulletprove vest, it IS a Sabaton. This kind of Armour is called this way. Love you reaction and greetings from Germany.

Agreed fully but think you mean 'invincible', be pretty hard for a 50,000 ton warship to be invisible lol
They are Swedish and have been around for 20years. Check out some live videos from The Great Tour or Woodstock 2012 in Poland.

Sabaton worked along side world of warships (wargaming) to make the animation
Thanks for reaction
Bismark is refered as HE not like normal to use female names. Quite interesting. Love your reactions. Love from The Home country of Sabaton, Sweden.
Oh another thing about Sabaton they don't take sides about who was right or support wars they just tell the story as it is :)

A sabaton is piece of footwear. Joakim is wearing body armor (or at least something that's made to resemble that).
