    Love these cars, and such a great junkyard engine hack. With a good cam and springs they punch above their weight class.

    I'm not a Ford guy, not a Mustang guy, not even into Domestic cars.. But something about seeing a old Fox GT on the road makes me feel good. Every time I see one driving around, I remember and think about High School. Good times.

      I drive a 89 CRX with a b16 swap. Love catching old IROC's and Fox 5.0's. I only make about 165hp, but the car weighs just under 2,100lbs with 1/2 a tank of gas and me sitting in it. I'm not much faster than, nor am I any slower vs a "basic bold on" stock V8 of the same time frame.
      "It's not fast, It's not even quick. But it's damn fun to drive"
      "It's not about how much power a car makes, it's about how many pounds the car doesn't weigh"

    What exact trans. Looking to get 96-01 ford explorer engine with a manual trans. Looking to get something that will directly bolt up

      The trans is from a 95gt. It sits back a little due to the bel housing is longer. But not to bad.

    Does the 5.0 foxbody headers fit a 5.0 Explorer engine? Or are they different?

      They fit. You just have to get 90 degree spark plug wires.

    I just came across your channel a couple of weeks and love it. As I’m also building a 88 foxbody. I’ve been going back and watching all your older videos now. I like how you try to keep it simple and do everything yourself to save money. I’ve been working on my car almost 2 years now. I’m so ready to get it going. But I do want to know we’re you got your steering wheel from that’s in the black car and what looks like a line lock switch that you have on your shifter in the white car. If it’s still in the white car. I have the same B&m shifter and was trying to figure out something for my line lock until I seen that. Any help with my build will be greatly appreciated.

      @fox-body 2 роки тому +1

      The steering wheel is from motion race works. And the button on the shifter is the line lock. It came with the hurst line lock kit.

    Great video. What are the details on the extra preload you needed to add? Was it due to chatter? Did you go up .050” in push rod length or more? What size shim di you add? I’m having issues with valve train noise and I’m wondering if I should do the Selma thing.

    • @fox-body
      @fox-body Рік тому

      With the stock length pushrods I was only getting 20 thousands preload and the cam called for 50-60. That’s why I needed longer pushrods. I don’t remember the shim I used. You have to measure with a dial indicator and add shim if needed.

    I ended up finding a “refurb” demon 750 blow through carb on an eBay auction for 300 bucks. It looked like it has never been ran and runs good so that’s a good place to look if you want to run a carb with a turbo
