  • Taped at Vintage Poster Art Convention & Auction April 22-24, 1994
(presented by Marty Davis & Morris Everett, Jr.) Sheraton Airport Hotel Cleveland, OH -- Originally distributed on VHS to video stores (or anyone willing to pay the $49 price tag) through Facets in Chicago, I created this so I'd have enough titles in the year 2000 Facets catalog. I never envisioned this video having much currency, and even stated on the cover art 'For obsessive fans only!' I still stand by that statement, but as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre has grown in legend, and become a franchise, I'm happy to share this small document I was fortunate to produce.
Furthermore, I hesitate to consider myself a 'producer' as it's essentially me wandering around a movie poster convention weekend with a home video camera without script or plan. In fact there's no editing (except in my head as I was shooting) and no credits or titles or anything. And I didn't even bring a camera to Cleveland! I borrowed it on a whim from the family I was staying with.
There's more to this story but before I get to deep into the esoteric weeds, I just want to share what's on the back of the VHS box art: "It's a film about meat, about people who have gone beyond dealing with animal meat and rats and dogs and cats. Crazy retarded people going beyond the line between animal and human..." Tobe Hooper, Director, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
I'll never forget sneaking in to see this film with my pal Eric Rubinstein in 1974 at the Landover Mall 6. I think we paid to see a Disney film. If I remember correctly , we also caught a few scenes from 'The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3.' It was a great day. In 1994, I attended the 20th anniversary convention in Clevelan, Ohio of all places, and spent lots of quality time with the cast there: Gunnar Hansen Marilyn Burns, Ed Neal, Jim Siedow and Grandpa John Duggan. Jeff Krulik
Thanks and I'll eventually circle back with more details for what it's worth.

Oh wow, how cool to have so much one-on-one interaction with these guys from way back when, particularly Jim before he passed away. Thank you so much for posting this!

this is an awesome video man! can't find hardly any interviews with Jim Siedow and he's a legend. What a gem of a video for 94, camcorder paid off

The Ed Gein fan club guy from Kansas was interesting. I knew of an Ed Gein club back in the 90s but think that must be another one.

Really enjoyed the interactions with the late Mr. Jim Siedow.
Very rare to see footage of Jim speaking of TCM, outside of the "Family Portrait" documentary. Thanks!

I wonder if they ever toured back in the day when the film was presented in European festivals, never heard or seen nothing of that

Yo Jeff what's up man? Is this video a re-release or something? I'm a little confused. This should have way more views and attention to it. Nice job on it. I have multiple channels but this channel is my more successful one I guess.... and I just started doing Streamyard horror movie streams on it. TCM is my favorite horror series of all time.

4:55 Being french, I appreciate the posters on the wall ! 🥰🥰🥰 TCSM has been released in 1982 in France. For many years, the movie was banned by 4 or 5 ministers (Culture). Then, the Left came to power. The censorship and the long waiting made my first viewing so intense.😱
