I can't seem to stop watching every new video that comes up for the Xtool F1 it's fascinating to watch. I preordered mine and can't wait to receive it. I guess I'm wanting to see other things being cut or engraved. Something out of the ordinary.
Hello, I got my xtool F1... and I am newbie to the Lazer world .I try the slate coaster it came with and it took me about an hour to engraved.. did I do something wrong with setting? Can you do more F1 video.. it doesn't seem to be alot out with the setting too. Glad to find your Channel. And you're also pretty funny.
Another great video bro!
Thanks homie.
I have the 10W D1 pro and IR 1064 module. It works well but is slow. It will engrave tungsten carbide with a few passes. I can put up with the slow speed but it is the 20mm focus length which is limiting. Impossible to focus inside a ring. I am installing a lens extension tube which should make it easier.
Very cool machine keeps making go grrr cuz I spent all my cash on the xtool d1 and now all these new awesome things come out. But that's life brother. Need to win the lotto right. Keep up the great content. 👽
Great vid as always, and definitely considering one. Question: You did the glass etching with the diode, how would the IR one fare with glass?
The wavelength will pass right through the glass
Thanks so much for the videos I love learning about xtool through your fun and exciting videos! Question... I want to engrave/etch stainless steel bracelets . will the F1 do this? Will I need to use marking spray or will I just have to get a fiber laser machine? Thank you!!!
This will mark stainless steel without a marking spray.
@@BuildDadBuild вместо дорогого спрея можно использовать обычную акварельную краску😁
We're still waiting on ours, if you are feeling generous we could borrow yours. Really looks like a promising machine to add to our little army.
Can you put and mark/engrave a APPLE WATCH band in there (the silicone/rubber one?)
Sure!
Can you engrave anodized, powder coated and bare polished aluminum with this? I have some valve covers I’d like to engrave.
Yes
Hey Nick, where did you purchase the necklace in this video? I want to purchase these blank and in bulk.
Xtool
Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated.
How long did it take for you to get yours? I’ve been waiting over a month
Not sure when they sent it out.
I’m not getting the blue light to light stuff up/frame. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?
Sounds like you’re not focused.
@3:30, you say, "a diode laser cannot mark glass." I'm afraid I have to call BS on that one, dude. I have engraved all sorts of drinking glasses with a 10W diode laser by spraying the glass with black acrylic paint (just as you did with Cermark) and using a rotary. Cleanup can get messy (you're removing acrylic paint with paint remover such as thinner or acetone), but the results are very good.
Correct. A diode laser cannot mark glass without some sort of agent to help the beam “see” the glass.
@@BuildDadBuild And a can of Krylon is a lot cheaper than a can of Cermark. 🙂 Love your stuff!
is this portable IR F1 better than IR 1064nm and which is more recommended for metal laser ?
Both are IR 1064nm. The Galvo bears the D1 IR in all ways.
@@BuildDadBuild any chance you could post a reply on how long it would take to burn and cut the acrylic piece you did on a D1 for comparison? I think we’ve got the same setup, 20w & IR, I just haven’t spent any time on the IR yet. Thanks.
The galvo IR is definitely going to engrave faster. The cut would be similar.
What's best for making leather patches for caps?
Vegetable tanned REAL leather
@@BuildDadBuild thanks. Which laser is best for a beginner?
@@lbrooks3057 probably the xTool D1 Pro
@@BuildDadBuild thanks!
I'm really curious why this is so much faster than a D1 10W. I understand the motors with mirrors movement vs the track speed so it can go faster but why is the laser itself able to be so much faster? The logo on the glass would take way more than 5min with my D1 and RA2.
Is there something I'm missing or not understanding? I'm still fairly new to laser engravers in general but the F1 speed just seems insanely fast for such a "low power" laser.
The galvo makes it faster. No gantry to move back and forth.
@@BuildDadBuild I understand that, but does that mean any 10W laser would be able to move that fast if it wasn't gantry? Like my 10W D1 could perform at the same speed if it was galvo too? Obviously it can't be cause it isn't galvo but it's speed is basically limited to the speed of the gantry?
We have a lot to about high-value products that would be of interest to you? We have sent you an email inviting you to take a look.
No porn?? Darn it! 😂😂😂
