the Book of Moon play worked bc Dimensional Prison *has* to target an attacking monster to banish it - by putting Vampire Lord face-down *before* Prison resolves, it's no longer considered to be an attacking monster so it doesn't get banished the same thing would happen if you Book your monster that's about to be destroyed by Sakuretsu Armor, since Sakuretsu also has "Target that attacking monster;" in its text
I see Reading really is essential to yugioh 😅 That's how I learned about non targeting removal at first I scratch my head at what that mean when it was just wording if a spell or monster has the word "target" in the text or not
Think of it this way whoever goes second, is actually first. Example, Rhym wins coin toss and wants to go first. He forces Jay into the first position and he ends turn. Now its turn two Rhym draws and he can't attack
Yeah, I think the problem Rhyme ran into is that he skipped both turn 1 AND 2, when he could've just skipped turn 1 and start playing normally turn 2, just not without battle.
How to simulate going first old school style. If rhyme wants to go first and get first draw, he goes 2nd. Whoever you face will go first, pass, then you draw play like you don't have a battle phase and resume like nornal
@@rhymestyle You're ending up with 7 cards because you're not understanding and skipping both turn 1 and 2. You're supposed to only skip turn 1 then turn 2 player gets the draw and is treated as the player going first.
@rhymestyle how did you math so badly? Player 1 5 cards Player 2 5 cards. Player 1 passes turn with 5 in hand. Turn 2. Player 2 draws for turn, plays normal, skips battle phase, passes turn. Turn 3 Player 1 draws for Turn with 6 cards in hand and resumes duel like normal
@@rhymestyle@rhymestyle I guess you can like, decide before starting the duel whose going first (say it's you Rhyme) when you get to decide in game, you let Jay go first, and he just passes, letting you draw during turn 2. You then pass over to Jay without doing battle, letting him draw in turn 3. So now both of you get to only got to play with 6 cards, instead of one side getting to 7.
I found out this ruling applies when favorite contact is used to bring out Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer. Luckily my opponents don't know this so half the time they forfeit
5:45 im pretty sure this works because Prison specifically says "banish that TARGET" and vampire lord was no longer a valid target. It wouldn't have worked if it said " banish that card" like most modern cards do.
This series with Jay feels like an older and younger brother playing old school yugioh, and the younger brother has been hit with so much bad shit in the past he's afraid to commit to anything.
when you guys do this you could just have the player who goes second go "first" by skipping player ones turn and then having a gentleman's agreement to not attack on the "first" turn.
In order to replicate the missing draw, all you have to do is just treat who ever goes 2nd as the person going 1st. For example, let's say rhyme wants to go 1st, what he'd do is choose to go 2nd, and Jay will just pass to rhyme without playing/setting any cards, now rhyme will treat his turn like OG Yu-gi-oh turn 1 meaning no battle phase/main phase 2 but he still draws his 6th card. If rhyme wants to go 2nd, he'd choose to go 1st, pass his turn without doing anything and Jay will have the OG yugioh turn 1 again, no battle phase/main phase 2 and rhyme gets turn 2 and his 6th draw. In order to not confuse each other you can probably say I wanna Edison 1st or Edison 2nd.
Monster goes for an attack. Trap is played. Book is played to chain. Book flips monster down. Face down monster can not declare attack. D prison targets attacking monster. D prison can not see the monster to target, so it misses. Or that is the nicest luck seen in a while
Explanation for 6:00: Book of moon flips and cancels the attack, Dimensional prison loses target and the monster is no longer attacking. It double works.
D prison targets the attacking monster. Since vamp lord is flipped face down, it’s no longer “attacking” making prison lose its target. Kinda like the booking on a mirror force
If you wanna have a draw going first just have the 1st turn be a pass turn and the person going 2nd acts like they went first and cant attack or use a duel sim that isnt master duel
I needed to learn to stop being greedy with my life points. Sometimes you gotta sacrifice to win or get something going. But I’ve also been Turn 1 beat by people transferring life points gained into damage.
You can always just say the person who is going second is actually going first and just skip the battle Phase that would allow you to play like old school yugioh
That Lucci question really did get me thinking... Do we consider Robin to be "stronger" than Franky? Like, in my head canon, it's an easy win over Franky. But when I think Robin she still loses, but there's more difficulty than against Franky. I do think the most even fight would probably be Brook though. He's like the mid point of strength among the crew.
I never set spell/traps before the Battle Phase 'cause I always fear Malevolent Catastrophe... Though almost nobody played it, but it ain't a bad card at all, check it out maybe.
Rym To do the draw one, all you need to do is whoever wants to go first, goes second and doesn't attack. If you want to go first, let your opponents go first, they end their turn, and you draw and start the duel then. You just don't attack during that turn is all
They already tried that. It doesn't work like that. If they skip the first turn, the person who goes second basically has 7 cards in their starting hand.
@@thetruth3068that was skipping two turns, what's being suggested is to skip only one. The turn 2 player still gets to play normally, just not without their Battle Phase and Main Phase 2.
Bruh it's master duel what'd you expect? It's not here to be your friend it's here to crush your soul and stomp on while laughing menacingly. I don't know what you thought this was?
Why not just go second for the Opening Draw? Have first player pass turn without setting, activating, or summoning and second turn player starts the duel.
