Masala is for north india guys.. in tamil nadu it is called "dapanguthu" basically street folk music where the tamil traditional music instruments like parai, urumi used, which is authentic to tamil nadu completely different from north or bollywood music.. more energetic and lively..
I didn't see the Northeast. No East. No West. Large parts of the North and the South were missing. Whatever regions were covered were not filmed extensively. Token Indian monuments like the Taj Mahal, one Rajasthani fort, and one Southern temple was it. The thousands of intricate, millennia old temples in Odisha and the South, expansive deserts of Rajasthan and Gujarat, urban cities, most modern art monuments and sculptures were missed. Repetitive landscape indicates only select city/states were travelled. A stereotype monk, a woman by the sea and a couple of farmers was the portrayal of Indian life. The Himalayan people and their culture, colonial architecture of the North, East, forts, beaches, Portuguese architecture of Goa and the French influenced town of Puducherry weren't there. The culture of UP, MP and Jharkhand not there. The biodiversity of the South was not even touched. The North was the most wronged considering the cinematic quality of the entire region. Where are the islands of Lakshwadeep and Andaman? Urban art culture and city life is missing. Ancient architecture of the West, Northeast, North and the South are omitted. They could easily have made this a 5 minute video at least if they were looking to create something promotional and short. This video though technically brilliant, cinematically shot with excellent music and the best of intentions still serves to pedal stereotypes and do India a disservice. To say that these guys extensively travelled India would be wrong. There's so much more I've missed. This is only a fraction of India and not India in its entirety.
And here I am sitting on my chair and thinking ..is that in india?? ..so where am I ?? Why I never saw these places ....and the ans .......no paissaaaa
