Thank you guys for watching! One thing I forgot to mention in the intro was that I actually discovered jubeat at a previous GDQ (SGDQ 2016) because of my friend raysfire, and I’ve been hooked ever since. So it was an honor to showcase it at the place where it all started almost 9 years later 😊
IT IS SUCH A GOOD GAME! So glad to see people keeping it alive today. I lost several years' worth of weekends split between this and IIDX. Awesome run!
This was seriously one of the most impressive runs ever at GDQ, this would be insane in a quiet practice session alone. To do this in front of an audience in front of thousands of people is truly nuts. Idk what else to say, shoutouts to Panga haha!
The commentary is fantastic too -- I love getting insights into the composers, the songs, and the techniques. I've never heard of this game before and I feel like I'm able to really appreciate it and follow along
as a rhythm game player who doesn't play any kaizo mario (but love watching regardless), i had no idea panga is such a beast at jubeat before this showcase
If you really want to have your mind blown, he's also a very high level Sound Voltex player - he used to have an actual arcade cabinet in his stream room and would do late night rhythm game streams. I think he has moved and may or may not still have it, though.
FLOWER is a banger and one of my favorite charts to play. What a perfect ending to an incredible run. You don't appreciate just how much the wrong shutter affects the gameplay. It completely changes your visual cues and timing.
Jubeat is one of the OLDEST music games that still thrive today. I rmb playing this game when I was so young, that i needed a box to be tall enough. Then I got a Japanese iTunes account and pretty much bought the whole damn collection. To this day when I see an arcade, I will go and play a few old-school songs. It definitely has legendary status in all of the arcade music games. And oh Boi, FLOWER... people ask me why I like this hectic music in my playlist... "you wouldn't get it"
How did I miss that there was a Jubeat run??? My second-favorite rhythm game behind the godfather itself, IIDX. And it is a very, VERY close second. Huge props for the couch introducing people to some of the amazing artists and producers who make songs for these games. More people outside of Japan need to know these names.
I'm so happy to see Jubeat here. I'm always happy for any rhythm showcase. Great to see Panga playing this too. Here's hoping we get more rhythm showcases this year. Fingers Crossed for Pop 'n' Music and/or Beatmania next.
If possible, next GDQ, I *really* want to see a jubeat Ave. (or beyond the Ave. if it's available) so that Panga can showcase how crazy the 10.9's are, especially 1116 and Crackpot Evangelist. Amazing stuff from Panga and the commentators. I love jubeat, it's my favorite rhythm game right now, even though most of my knowledge is on DDR.
Watched this one live, incredible showcase. Great job to Panga, I can't imagine the amount of practice it takes to get confident enough to play this game at this difficulty in front of this many people.
30 minutes in and the gameplay is already wildly impressive -- keeping up the mental stamina for these scores all the way through is wild!! Congrats Panga in an amazing showcase!
Really cool showcase. I am mainly familiar with this game from the "jukebeat" app, which is cool and all, but it's a lot easier to hit notes on the top and bottom rows at the same time with one hand on an iPad, of course. Still, I was familiar with most of these songs and could understand the difficulty of a lot of them. Overall, very impressive play by Panga. Dare I say it, it was... EXCELLENT.
I miss when jukebeat worked ;=; I was top 1% on the leaderboards. Now I can't even download the songs I freakin paid for. Should be illegal. Anyways... This is stupid impressive. The difference between barely being able to pass a 9/10 like I was at and being able to SSS 9/10s in front of a huge audience is... COPIOUS. AHAHA. Jomanda I never did pass. I will say this. For a rhythm game, 75ms/5 frames for the top judgement is actually kinda big. A marvelous in DDR only gives you 16.66ms on each side, which is 2 frames. Which isn't to say this isn't absurdly impressive... Just that rhythm gamers are made out of completely different stuff! This sounds literally impossible for most games, to hit, for example, 800 2 frame windows in a row, but remember that in a rhythm game, you're just reacting. What actions to take is always 100% obvious. Do the thing the game tells you to do. No interpretation required. Congrats Panga! This is such a freakin cool accomplishment! I hope to see more rhythm games on the AGDQ stage in the future! Does it being my best chance of making it up there have anything to do with it? I plead the fifth c=
Off topic but what was the name of that one hexagon guy that appeared in some videos related to this rhythm game Also ngl I was expecting either Ongeki, Arcaea, Phigros or Rotaeno to be next after Chunithm BUT I DID NOT EXPECT THIS FOR SOME REASON
43:02 THE MAN HIMSELF! RYU*! This man single-handedly got me into Japanese electronic music. Fun fact: he and kors k (who did SigSig earlier) both won the contest for IIDX 4th to have songs in the game...launching both their careers with Konami and indie production. When they produce together, they call themselves The 4th (which, in Japanese, is pronounced the same as The Force, which shows up in the names of their collab songs).
FYI the FLOWER chart (the last song in this set) played is rated 10.5 as of the latest version of jubeat (decimals on difficulties added at some point after copious append)
Used to play Jubeat all the time at the arcade as a teenager, to the point where my fingers would have blisters, because i couldn't keep up with some of the music and had to slide my fingers across the buttons instead of tapping them. Oh man, 37:31 ダイナマイト / →Pia-no-jaC← brings back memories, used to play that all the time even though I wasn't really good at it
gotta say he is really good, which is not surprising considering he does frame perfect kaizos all the time. But still, his adaptability of carrying that skillset to a new genre of game is absolutely great.
It's okay Panga, raysfire brought this up briefly, shortly after you started
I didn't know you were a part of this! It's awesome to see more and more people I watch daily.
raysfire as in the guy who made rayshud in TF2?
Great job, Panga!
IT IS SUCH A GOOD GAME! So glad to see people keeping it alive today. I lost several years' worth of weekends split between this and IIDX. Awesome run!
this was so fun, thanks GDQ for letting Panga show off one of my favorite games of all time!!
so sick to see you at gdq as an old tf2 head!
omg its raysfire of TF2 fame, this is such an iconic crossover
I second this!! I got so pleasantly surprised at hearing Rays lol@@aloysius_music

Panga may have only ever played 3 games but god damn is he a beast at all of them.
as a rhythm game player who doesn't play any kaizo mario (but love watching regardless), i had no idea panga is such a beast at jubeat before this showcase

I think he still has the cabinet, those gameplay videos are uploaded on his second channel, and it is indeed v impressive
@@k03hl3r omg I remember those streams. It was interesting to catch. I didn't know he was preparing for something
The Panga at GDQ is very different from the Panga at home… impressive.

Amazing showcase, I never could play jubeat but i played those songs in other rhythm games, watching panga performance was awesome
This GDQ was banger after banger! Great playthrough! Awesomeee
This is amazing. I’m introduced to new songs and get to see crazy fast rhythm talent.
I'm so happy to see Jubeat here. I'm always happy for any rhythm showcase. Great to see Panga playing this too. Here's hoping we get more rhythm showcases this year. Fingers Crossed for Pop 'n' Music and/or Beatmania next.
panga playing one of my favorite games at gdq??? absolutely crazy!!! amazing run
I will tune into every single rhythm game gdq puts on, I love that they started doing this.
Watching this from the front row was an amazing experience
This was so entertaining to watch, I've enjoyed playing jubeat myself during my break time in-between DDR sessions and it is such a fun game.

This is what hacking looks like in 90s movies. Also shout out panga's mom and dad
shout out to the audience member who brought his concert penlights
Rhythm games at GDQ are always so fun to watch.
Nice pfp
It was a very interesting showcase!
You are an amazing player! Thank you for your videos, they are great!

Way to go Panga! This was amazing to watch live and all those SSS was nuts. Such great commentary as well - leaned a lot.
I saw Panga and had to watch, amazing run!

I can't even comprehend how good this guy is. Absolutely incredible.
It's so nice to finally see Jubeat showcased at a GDQ event, congrats Panga and amazing run
IPUSHEDJUMP
This was really amazing.
Awesome lineup of songs from an all-star roster of rhythm game artists. I loved Catastrophe’s history lessons for each artist before each song.
Amazing gameplay and commentary!
Panga putting his piano skills to test!!! He killed it!!
New pb in front of a crowd? How is he so locked in? Holy shit

I remember years ago Panga posting about playing Jubeat at GDQ on his Twitter. Insane that it's gone from playing it for fun, to playing it on stage.
14:05 loved the commentary in general, but needed to highlight this moment cuz rays introduced sandstorm so nicely
Panga and rays! OOOO
Ok now we need to have either IIDX, SDVX or The Washing Machine (maimai) at the next GDQ.

TIL Panga does things that are not SMW or Super Mario Maker
The mario player??
Next he will beat Mario using the Jubeat controls 😌
kaizo mario dev
Off topic but what was the name of that one hexagon guy that appeared in some videos related to this rhythm game

my favorite arcade game for sure. heavenly moon was my favorite song in this version of the game, prop the world probably favorite all time
I discovered jubeat at a local arcade, its amazing!
Awesome performace by Panga 🔥
Damn the Mario man is good at the music game.
I was not expecting jubeat but I'm here for it
55:05 To this day it remains a tragedy that Yoshitaka, to my knowledge at least, has never, ever released a CD. Another absolute legend.
49:24 That sounds like Holy Orders from Guilty Gear X2... 😅 Amazing job in the run!
My GOAT
NEED THIS

34:50 DON'T YOU JUST LOVE MOCHI ICE CREAM KONEKO-CHAN~?
Good old days
W game. Love all the licensed songs in it. Such a shame allot of my favorites got removed in newer versions. Never played anything older than prop.
PANGA!!!
22:17 Nope, that's not Daisuke Kurosawa, that Yoshihiko Koezuka.
This guy is cracked
Nice work dude!
Would love to hear some finger drumming!
@25:12 It escaped rhythm games to make it to jubeat? It originated in IIDX, right? Either way, kors k is a legend.
I think L.E.D. is more known for trance by far, lol, he primarily does Psy and occasionally Epic.
i didn’t know they made stream decks that big 👀
God gamer
SUMIDEGAWA KARENKA PEAK 🗣🗣🗣
jubeat好玩!
Panga is a wizard :D
I wish Norway had more than like two arcades in the country...
Are there any other rythem games this year?
Very fun!
POMF POMF KIMOCHI
damn.
It's 2025 and the version's copious??? why?
gotta say he is really good, which is not surprising considering he does frame perfect kaizos all the time. But still, his adaptability of carrying that skillset to a new genre of game is absolutely great.
It was the last version with a true offline mode. Anything newer requires eamuse which is a legal grey area that gdq would probably like to avoid.
@@Northernskyukive seen some n-1 cabs at other cons, but maybe the fact they’re live-streaming it has to do with it.
@@Northernskyuk oh ok that makes sense
it's like osu but with squares
it’s like osu but with your feet
and beatmania iidx is osu mania at arcade. stop this nonsense.
the only game that actually fits this description cause wow, the gameplay is actually really similar, unlike the arguments others want to shovel in
it's like osu but there are horses
@@sea-pineappl3 i literally play these games this comment is a joke
I wish someone at Konami would see this and sponsor the latest version of bemani games at GDQ
