I really appreciate this. This is my first day at university and we have a lab tomorrow on this. My professor did not go over this at all so this is really helpful. I have been having a real tough time so I appreciate this.
Just watched this today for my class in 2022, I appreciate that you made this. My teacher just sent an assignment and sent us on our way. This is very helpful
Thank you! I had a geography mapping class, and this is part of the lab but the video they showed us did not help. You made it so much easier to understand!!!
Thank you so much! My geo teacher told us to google it and got mad that we didn't understand the google definition. I've got an assignment and contour lines are a huge part of it, so this helps so much!
Studying architectural technology. Have to set out, take spot levels and draw a contour map for the first time this week. You've helped me more in 5 minutes than my lecturer! Thanks so much. Do you have an videos about how to close a survey? The quick and complete check methods?
Hi Nico. Glad my video helped you with a quick start in drawing contour lines. Sorry I don't have any videos to close a survey, as I don't teach that in my geology class. Good luck with your studies.
This "quick-and-dirty" method is not very accurate, as it depends on your eyeball assessment of distances, compared to a computer. However, for the introductory student, it is a good way to quickly learn how the lines are positioned. Thanks for your comment.
I provided instructions for locating and drawing contour lines on a map that displays points labeled with the elevation at a spot. On a piece of paper, one draws the line by hand while eyeballing the spot elevations. I can't help you with mechanics of drawing a line in Google Earth Pro or some other platform because that would require features for drawing lines specific to the software. However, if this were my assignment, what I would do is a quick-and-dirty substitute method. How about taking a screen capture of the area on which contours lines are to be drawn? You could do this easily in Windows with the Paint app, or Snip-and-Sketch, or other apps. Then you could draw lines using the mouse or a pen if you have a tablet. Or, you could print the screen capture and draw the lines by hand with a pencil, as I illustrated in my video. Then I would take a picture of my scan/map with lines and submit it for the assignment. I'm not familiar with Apple apps for screen capture and line drawing. Regards, Scott Brande
The final green line is an approximate 95 ft contour line. There are no other locations where 95 would be present on this map but not on or near the green contour line.

Thanks for your comment. Glad my short video helped you.
No problem... It's very easy, if we understand relation of soundings and depth contour.... Yes I'm hydrography cartographer
The futures of my grades on my exam tomorrow depend on this video

@@ScottBrande fair enough! Thank you Sir!
Nice voice. But are those points guestimated?
Of course. Drawn quickly by eye to illustrate the procedure.
Hi..How to draw the contour correctly in google earth pro (or any platform you can recommend) to draw the coordinates ... please help ...

Sir I am not understand the draw of contour line by Radial line method
This is not the "radial line" method. This method uses estimates of position between two points. Regards.
Yaa ! I know sir but I search the Radial line method in youtube but I were not find so I comment you because I think you help me
I cannot help you with the "radial line" method. Sorry.
it's okay sir
thank you so much for this video

Contour survey Bangla language please
If you have someone who could do the translation, write me back. I'd be happy to try to re-produce my video in that language.
Do you play free fire.
so why ignore the 95s between the 80s-100s
