Every Warioware game's tutorial stage is hosted by Wario. You know, the main character. Every Warioware game ends with Wario, or some variant of him. Mindwave's tutorial stage uses games from Pandora's mind. You know, the main character. Mindwave's final stage...
Honestly, the tutorial made me wonder if we’ll ever see the mind of our protagonist fully. How much of the tutorial is the calibration software, and how much of it is her actual mind? Does the calibration look the same for everyone, or does it match the themes and aesthetics of the person it’s inhabiting? This is such a weird and fascinating concept to make a game around, even the TUTORIAL raises so many questions!
I have 2 Headcanons: either it is her style, a very bleak and bland mind and it's facing against very colourful opponents. Or it is the calibration software, it provides a beta version of their games. A small glimpse tho
I think it looks somewhat different? The background for the tutorial has a “calibration in progress” sign which probably wouldn’t be there while someone actually playing. The monochrome colors only kinda fit her personality, so it probably looks like the same thing except for a few more colors. Probably like 3-4.
Going off of someone else's comment- I severely hope we get at least 1 Nelward track, this game is gonna be so deliciously whimsical and 2007 internet pilled that I NEED this game to come out
Just played through the demo, backed the kickstarter, and then busted out my ambassador program 3ds to rip some OG warioware. Crazy how old Wario games are inspiring some of the best looking, most individualistic indie games I've ever seen. So hype!
This game and Scratchin' Melodii give of a special nostalgic vibe that's hard to describe. Reminds me of those moments of watching Nicktoons as a little kid.
I like this a lot! I like to think the music is from the tutorial software but uses instruments pandora's head would use. Kinda how like the micro games seemed very pandora vibey even though they were simple tasks from the software.
I was checking out someone's playthrough of MindWave, and as soon as they got to the tutorial I was like... 0.0 wtf is that?! What was the thought process/planning behind this? I can not imagine you were humming that melody beforehand lol, did you come up with it as you went along? Also, love that diminished scale out of nowhere in the second section, I'd have never thought about it. How did you come up with that? Anyhow, fantastic sound design and orchestration on the OST, it fits the game to a T!
@@carboluka i wrote this a good while ago now but i think this was a song where i didnt do the melody first 100% of the time but focused on the groove, bass, and chords then added the melodies. Some of the melodies came first but i cant remember which. The joke with the b section is that “hey look this is kinda a really screwed up blues if you turn your head sideways and really squint” more or less. Glad you like it!
i could be way off but like one of them instruments (electric piano i think) sound like they from mario artist, and that MAY or may not be a nod to the origin of microgames in general.
The inner machinations of her mind truly is an enigma
But instead of a milk carton, it's a bottle of jam spilling onto conveniently placed toast. And then the table.
That kind of mystery left Abby surprised or even disturbed
Haha
wow im truely at my last breath from this comment
bravvo
I wonder why Pandora has captcha in her mind...
It proves she (and the player) isn't a robot
Probably an indicator that she's chronically online, as she'd be seeing many of those. That was my impression, anyway.
I dig the simplicity of this one.
Puts you in the mindset to be educated.
Also obligatory "What an interesting mind you have, haha."

Mindwave's final stage...
It'd be wild if the final boss uses Pandora's mind against her.

Something something, the hardest battle is against yourself.
the hardest mind to overcome is your own
lets be fr its probably going to be smalls

Smalls to me feels more like a penultimate stage. Either way, we're absolutely going against him at some point lol

My personal interpretation is that it *is* her aesthetic & that it would probably look different for other people
My innitial guess was that was just how their games look, but now that you mention it, maybe they're normally more colorful or something
I'd like to imagine it's their "style" just only in black and white.

ahh yes the "silly indie tutorial music" gotta be one of my fav genres of music out there
Pizza tower and vib-ribbon also fall into this category imo
If it weren't for the banger gameplay I would've immediately left the game to find the ost when I heard this
The instant I heard the main menu theme I pulled up the ost on my browser to listen to later
This is my favorite track. What an excellent introduction to the game, having this really groovy music set the pace for the tutorial!!
You know you're in for a good time when the tutorial music goes this hard

I want to listen to this while working my 9 - 5 job
at random points in time (usually a few hours apart) this starts to creep into my mind and i let it play until it wants to stop

If we got Wario land 4 then WarioWare I’m calling it right now. Someone is definitely working on a Wario World inspired game
@@PlasmaStar87aw hell yea
it reminds me of Nelward
Yesssss
This slaps so hard. All the music in Mindwave is so so so good, it’s clear you are extremely talented. I can’t get it out of my head. Thank you!
This is such a vibe, i wanna see it in a video essay or something
We need extended versions of these songs frfr every single one in the demo is a BOP

It uses a leitmotif/melody from the main menu! 😮
this is the most Warioware song in the game by a mile
banger song
already going to need a vinyl record pressing of this soundtrack on launch
collab with nelward when?!?!?!
@@cheekydawg :) nelward is one of my fav musicians ever! Took a couple lessons with him about 4 years ago

This music has made me think the most thoughtful thoughts ever thunked 😊
What an unamaginable banger, like seriously!
It peaks! This game peaks! My mind is wavey!
this is such a bop 👏
This one gives me Nelward vibes in the absolute best way possible
HOLY CALUM BOWEN/NELWARD (Annoying to compare this amazing, original OST to other pre-existing artists, but someone had to say it.) absolute cinema
ngl it’s some good music to study to, been using it for calculus work lately when I need something new to listen to
This just emanates "Indie Game" vibes
Either Indiegame or Warioware
This song is very SnipperClips-core, this’ll make sense to like 3 ppl at most
This game and its soundtrack peaks
I wish to see it thrive
without you im sure the game wouldnt be the same, what a great artist!
i have a question, will the game demo ost be on spotify?
Yes soon; had a weird issue that seeems to be fixed now with my distributor
@@Dorkus64 SO glad to hear it'll be on spotify soon!! the soundtrack is wonderful already!!
this style kinda reminds me of kill la kill but with ms paint crack. it’s so good
why's there an eyeball tower going inside their head wtf
holy fuck its nelward
what an interesting mind you have, haha
