Recipe for hate is probably Bad Religions most experimental album, think it takes more listens than their other albums, but has grown to be one of my faves.
More experimental than Into The Unknown? 😂 Kidding, of course. I would agree that of their punk albums, Recipe For Hate is quite different than the others. So good though.
It is my fave BR album by far. The use of full chords and 5ths along with open chords lends such a wall of sound. Plus the biting lyricism just makes it the perfect package.
Great album. Might take a couple listens to tune your ear to since it’s a bit of a departure from what you’ve heard from them so far. Generator is actually a good bridge between the sounds. I feel like this is the album where you really start to hear way more of their classic rock/country roots coming through.
This is my favorite BR album, and that is saying something, bois. It was also my first BR album; a friend of mine had me listen to 'Skyscraper' and I fell in love and bought the CD and that was that. Admittedly, 'Kerosene' is probably the weakest, but some real bangers on this one; great pick. ❤
Honestly i always kinda overlooked Kerosene as a teen when i was listening to more BR, now i actually listened/understood the lyrics and now its so much more powerful, its top tier for me
Okay. More suggestions. Michief Brew-old tyme mem’ry and the orphans-for an old Kentucky anarchist (both folk punk) and some less than jake from losing streak. It’s their best album.
Bad Religion has been my favorite band since I was 10, I'm now 41 years old and I can't go more than a day or two without listening to them. Dope that you both enjoy them as much as I do. Check out the following bands and their songs, think you both would greatly enjoy these: Downway - Black Taxes Hit The Switch - North Star Atlas Losing Grip - Through the Distance Face to Face - Ordinary
yall should definitely check out Microwave. despite the strange band name, they are arguably the best band of the past decade and show absolutely no signs of slowing down. their song Vomit is a MUST listen. it is a song i believe everybody in the world should hear before they die. i would love to see a reaction to it
Recipe ( studio version) is a decent song...However, if you see them live it becomes one of their greatest songs. I posted a video on my FB of punk rock legend Brian Baker ripping open this song. Epic show in Md.
I'm starting to believe I was right and you shouldn't have skipped Generator. This is one of my favorite BR albums and shows a lot progression. Might need to hear it a few times for it to catch you. The unfortunate thing is this is when albums were meant to be listened to in their entirety to get the feel. But no play list so that means no braincell for either. I love Kerosene. It's such progressive punk rock.
Hi guys, I don't like Kerosene either and i'm a big fan. Don't really like the album to be honest, it's average for me. Since the request are open, please add Hot Water Music - Remedy
@@gpro22 You're my man! I thought no one would ask for hwm, they're one of my favorites, i requested Remedy cause it's a great way to start the journey.
Chuck’s delivery of the first line in Remedy may be my favorite beginning to any song ever. You’re only about three seconds into the song and you already know it’s a banger.
One of the best bands of all time led by Greg graffin who is the modern-day poet
I love Kerosene. Couple of playbacks and you get hooked
Cant wait till they get to Don't Pray on Me! lol!
There’s a lot more country influence later in Recipe for Hate. Especially in “Man With a Mission.”

Honestly, these were the first two Bad Religion songs that I ever heard and I've been hooked ever since.
Good stuff, guys. This is the album that got me hooked on BR.
I love recipe for hate. You guys should do a bad religion reaction video of the song ‘beyond electric dreams’ it’s an absolute amazing song.

Yep, Generator is the transition bridge from the old sound to a new one.
I like this album a lot. My feelings for Kerosene kind of go back and forth, but I mostly like it, and sometimes a lot. Currently I like it a lot.

Same here, first album I heard by them as a teenager in 93, this no control, stranger than fiction & true north are my favourite album's by them.
@@jessop- I cannot fault your album picks. They're all on my list, too.

Mischief brew songs were already in the request list, but added The Orphans song. Any certain songs off of the LTJ album? -Joel
@@KnightscastStudios all of them. Or any. It’s the bees knees.
Wait until you get to the slide guitar.

Agreed. To best understand and appreciate the evolving sound of the band, it does not make sense to go from ATG straight to RFH.
PLEASE listen to title fight - safe in your skin and where am i they're two songs that make up onw 🙏
Requests open up the first week of April! Keep an eye on the community tab for more details on when the requests open and close. :)

It's funny....Kerosene is the only BR song that I can't stand lol...
hate the sound of it haha.
I have this reaction to I love my Computer. Love bad religion but really don’t like that song
@@gpro22 and I honestly feel bad and have tried to like it too lol but nope....
@@snomeD-83 I love Kerosene and pretty much this whole album. To each their own.
