    I love abstract and logic puzzles and this wire metal loop and ring I solve years ago because of my first variant of this, that gave me an abstract concept to figure it out and also help me to other levels. Just be honest in solving because in Logic puzzles there is a single solution with repetition or outside the box thinking 👍♥️🎲

    This presents a lesson in life about, you lose some, you win some.

    Oh, it's also interesting to notice that the French word "baguenaudier" does not give this puzzle when you look it up in a French dictionary, well at least in Larousse (on-line) and Robert. baguenaudier, however, is name of a certain kind of fruit tree in French.
    OTOH, the French word "baguenaude" translates to "wandering or stroll".

    I have the same puzzle but with 9 rings... The theory is the same, but with more moves of course.. So...Once figured out you will find this is a very easy puzzle to solve (just time consuming). You need to think "binary" (Sort of). it is basically 4 moves repeated. Starting with the #1 ring. Then #3 ring, #1 ring, #2 ring. Every other move is the #1 ring, and every 4th move is the #2 ring, That only leaves the oddball ring to be moved. .. #1-#3-#1-#2-#1- Then the odd ball ring, then back to #1, Then remember, every 4th is #2, then #1 then the odd ball, then of course #1, if you repeat this you will solve the puzzle in The 341 move minimum... Remember.. ( Start: -1, -3, +1, -2, -1, -5, +1, +2. -1, +3, +1, -2 ) Minus (-) means take off. plus (+) means put on. And of course, do everything in reverse, with the same theory to put it back together... The only question is... How fast can you solve it?

      +Dano C. I reply to my own post... The #1 ring is moved every other move then after the first time moving the #2 ring it is moved every 4th move, and after the first time moving #3, it will be moved every 8th move and so on... #4 every 16th, #5 every 32nd move, #6 every 64th. I don't expect you to count the moves, I just wanted to explain the pattern.

      Actually, it's binary "grey code"!

    • @Jason-wf8yg
      @Jason-wf8yg 7 років тому

      Dano C. the chinese traditional one is 9 rings. Chinese name is 9 chained rings. i think 9-ring has no more difficulty but give fresh player more pressure and easily to distroy their confidence.

    I sure wish you did the complete puzzle in slow motion, NOT IN HIGH SPEED! I have gotten to the third last post many times and to the third last post and still don't see how to get the vertical piece that you are holding in your left hand off the last horizontal post !!!! Please help!!lol

    @Horinius But better than Larousse or Robert, check the TLFi. Much better reference for French online. Baguenaude, baguenaudier and baguenauder are in it.

  • @TyYann
    @TyYann  13 років тому +2

    @dwyllie No. I'll check it out. Thank you for the reference.

  • @TyYann
    @TyYann  13 років тому

    @Horinius It is related to baguenaude. Maybe influenced by bague, as written in the article.

  • @Horinius
    @Horinius 13 років тому +1

    @TyYann
    OK, I see. So the word baguenaudier (for this toy) is not really related to "baguenaude" in French but to the word "bague" (means ring in French), as I thought.

    If we refer to traces (or legend) of this puzzlz's invention, it's rather at the beginning of the 3rd century AD instead of the 2nd.

    The fast forwarding during the crucial part makes this video unusable. Nice job on fast fording past the part of the video that matters, and through half your explanation. Fail.

    • @CrispyChicken38
      @CrispyChicken38 8 років тому

      The issue is that you made the whole tutorial impossible to follow, even fast forwarding through your own explanation, then send us to another video if we actually want what was promised by the video title. You may not have meant to do it, but that is view whoring. I'm sorry for getting mad, as I realize from your response you probably didn't even think of it, I just am very annoyed when it is done on purpose.

    • @TyYann
      @TyYann  8 років тому +3

      Well, I understand your point of view. I made two videos for several reasons, but the main one is that at that time, UA-cam allowed only 10 minutes videos and not a big file size. So I had not much choice than to split in one part explaining the principles of the solution, and another showing the actual solution. Other reason is that not everybody has the same number of rings, so only the principles apply to everybody and not the actual solving.
