I drove up there so many times to rope drop it for 15 minutes, mainly. Also one time about 9 times in 55 minutes after a storm! Hypersonic still never ceased to terrify me a bit.
Ooh!!! Can’t wait to watch this! I’m sorry bud, I only comment when I’ve had a few beers. But long ago you superseded Airtime Thrills as my favorite coaster UA-camr. Absolutely excellent, entertaining, gorgeous photography/videography, and precision in what you do. I said in my last comment that I love the format you use - I think a better word would’ve been the structure that you use. I love your work so so much, man. So dependable. Thank you so much. Your videos 💯 get me through my daily grind. Love you man.
I went here once for a weekend in 2016. I’m happy I got to ride Volcano before it closed, because that was a nice ride. I’ve gotta get back there one day to see how Twisted Timbers stacks up against I305; the latter is my #4 coaster out of 127
This is my home park. You got most of this list right and its nice to see someone back up my Grizzly opinion lol. Im surprised to see Boo Blasters really high. And about Soak City I would say 3 slides are good enough to make the list (The Trapdoor slides and both Pipeline Peak bodyslides) and I actually had a few decent Hurler rides after 2010 but you had to sit in the front row on the right side
Great Pumpkin Coaster should've been top 3! I actually do have that credit. I don't know what to think about Grizzly. I loved it in 2018, even though it was still rough, but those 2021 rides were beyond brutal, even in the front. Anaconda has always been a joy for me to ride. I'm glad that you could recognize the positive aspects of it, even though I still like it a lot more (it's my # 4 in the park).
Finally someone who agrees with me about Grizzly it is such a great ride and Ii absolutely love the setting! Also I rode Hypersonic XLC and it would be #2 behind I305 but ahead of Twisted Timbers
I just went to KD today for the first time. I know Grizzly got some retracking earlier this year but Grizzly was great. Sat front row and had a few great airtime pops. Was one of my favs after i305 and Twisted Timbers. Definitely rank it above dominator if that says anything.
I've been on hypersonic xlc and volcano which are definitely in my top five I need to get back for i305 and twisted timber plus dominator plus the newer ones
I was absolutely shocked to see you rank Grizzly so highly 👀 We rode it last summer and it was absolutely brutal. I will never, ever be riding it again. No thank you 😭😭
After my visits in 2008 and 2013, my favorite ride there is Intimidator 305 followed by Volcano: The Blast Coaster (R.I.P.), Dominator, Flight of Fear, Backlot Stunt Coaster, Grizzly, Racer 75, Boo Blasters on Boo Hill, Shanendoah Lumber Company, Windseeker, Apple Zapple, Reptilian, Drop Tower, Dodgem (R.I.P.), Shockwave, Anaconda and Hurler (R.I.P.).
This park looks all amazing, with one of the absolute best 1 2 punches out there and they are both top 30 coasters in the world for pretty much everyone. As well as the longest B&M Floorless coaster, and an extremely short freespin and other stuff, there is lots to do here. I really miss Volcano and that was a huge piece that fit so well but I hope it has a good replacement, and maybe replace or keep Anaconda, I don't know how good it is.
My beloved kings dominion. Words cannot describe how special it is to me. I’ve been coming here since I was 4 years old. Ever since I was a child I’ve adored amusement parks and its all because of kings dominion. Its such a special place. Seeing grizzly ranked so high made me so happy. It may feel like its trying to throw you into the next county, but there’s just something about it that I adore. And YES! I305 > Twisty. Sorry RMC but Intimidator is just something special. My rankings: Intimidator 305 Twisted Timbers Dominator Flight of fear Grizzly and racer swap depending on the day Back lot stunt coaster Anaconda Tumbili Reptilian Apple Zapple
I just visited this park for the first time this past weekend (flew from Texas) and I’m so glad I did. I think this park is underrated and twisted Timbers is my current number 1 with I305 being close behind at #4. I305 is probably the most insane ride I’ve ever been on in general. I’ve never blacked out on a coaster before riding i305 🤣
I305 is hands down my favorite at Kings Dominion. Twisted Timbers comes in right behind it. Beyond that, Dominator is a good complement to those 2, along with Racer 75 and Flight of Fear. Drop Tower is as fun as always.
I haven’t been back since Twisted Timbers was built. Intimidator 305 is my favorite at this park. I always have more fun on Grizzly than i should. I also in general prefer the mondial frisbees over the Huss models. Nice list.
Would be nice to visit this park. Rides similar to Wonderlands. Is it open yet? Really like the looks of the rollercoasters. Wonder what Cedar Fair has in store for this park.
I was surprised by how much I liked Dominator. I’m usually not a huge fan of bm floorless. I pretty much agree with all of your placements except I am not a grizzly fan. Next time I will try the front row instead of the back. Also I swap your 1 and 2, for me twisted timbers beats out i305 by a large margin. I’m an airtime fan and I only get airtime in the front row on i305. Given the way the lines go, I think the GP also prefers tt over i305. I actually liked woodstock more than 75. I was hoping for more air on those bunny hills, woodstock was a fun family coaster. Got my first ride on Tumbili last week, I don’t really like the 4d’s and I was surprised how little spinning I did and how short it was.
i could honestly go either way on I305 and twisted timbers because they're both incredible rides for very different reasons. for my money though, i'd just barely pick I305; there is truly nothing like going from a turn that tries to fucking kill you (in a cool, fun way, of course) to that tremendous sense of speed (the front row is a must-do because you REALLY feel it there). unfortunately it kinda falters after the trim brake, but that doesn't diminish just how unforgettable the rest of the ride is. so glad this insane thing isn't too far away from me because we really won't have anything like it ever again
Of the coasters at the park, Racer 75 used to be named Rebel Yell. I think it uses the usual individual lap bar restraints. It opened back in 1975. But do you think it always opened with those restraints?
I live near KD and have been on them all. Twisted Timbers is def my new favorite! I really miss the Volcano also. I hope they replace it with something good!
Does Racer 75 have the loudest lift hill at Kings Dominion, what do you think? So, what do you think about the sound and loudness of the coasters lift hills at Kings Dominion?
Right now, I’m in the car with my family driving to DC, and we just drove past Kings Dominion. Even though we are gonna go to Knoebels and Maybe even Busch gardens Williamsburg, I’m hoping that some day I can go to Kings Dominion.
I agree with grizzly’s night ride, pitch black, gives the out of control feel, I really liked racer 75, biggest surprise of the day… it was only running the left side and it was an off and on rainy day… going in with no expectations really helps tho
Twisted Timbers all the way #1. "Yeet the Coaster" or mini SteVe. Went first night of The Haunt and made a beeline to ride TT 3 times in a row.. My home park is Carowinds so I've been on Fury325 over 200 times. I like 305, when its working. Went to KD 2 times in September and 305 was having a hard time staying operational. That haunt night was a strikeout for 305. Rode SteVe 4x in September and plan on Iron Gwazi in January.
Maybe it's because I rode it as a kid but Shockwave, to this day, is my least favorite coaster out of my ~120 credits. I'm curious as to how I would have felt if I rode it when I was older / taller. Glad I got to experience Volcano at least once though.
I brutally hit my jaw on the bar the first or second time I rode it and again after not riding it for years... even though once you knew it really wasn't difficult to avoid. Thanks CC for giving Shockwave respect.
Intimidator 305 is my favorite and Grizzly is my least favorite at the park. Love the setting of Grizzly but it is one of roughest coasters I've ever ridden which makes it painful and unenjoyable for me.
Imagine the history of many world history coaster enthusiasts with a list of rides and roller coasters at Kings Dominion with number 4: Grizzly. Up next would have been Hurler. Many enthusiasts found Hurler to be a slow, rough and disappointing ride, often giving a 3 or a 4, but the first ride version they gave in 2006... A) was decent B) was bad C) was good D) was solid
Of the coasters at Kings Dominion, there is one that Canobie Coaster would say: Now I know many people got terrible rides on this coaster in 2022. In fact, the park retracked the coaster during the 2022-2023 off-season. But I had an enjoyable time when I rode it in April. My front row ride was fairly smooth. That allowed me to appreciate this ride's good layout.
I need to go here if Intimitador 305 is super intense. Intense rides are my thing and Intimidator 305 is possibly the most intense roller coaster in the world. Even though Lightning Rod technically is the best ride in the world according to you we may look out for different things on rollercoasters. My things are intensity, G forces, airtime and speed. I’ll love intimidator 305 and I think it could very well be in the Top 5 rollercoasters in the world possibly top 3. Skyrush looks to be the most intense airtime machine but if you say the restraints aren’t great it might not if it hurts. But I think if I’m fine with the restraints on Skyrush it could be in the Top 3. I also think Steel Vengeance would be in the Top 5 possibly Top 3 given it’s extremely powerful airtime, inversions high speed and powerful G forces. That’s all what makes a rollercoaster really stand out big time for me.
I only rode coasters in my first and only trip to the park a few weeks ago, but I think backlot stunt coaster was my least favorite ride there. I felt like I was bumping side to side the whole time and the airtime moments and g's didn't really redeem it for me. I also had a really rough Dominator ride in the back, a ton of headbanging. It's a shame because it has a really fun layout.
I was there when a drunk guy decided to put his arms through the restraints in shockwave prior to restraint upgrades, still haunts me to this day being 10 years old and whitesesing it happen but still loved the coaster
@@JJJJ-he8bz I like seeing you in the comments on different channels and reading your comments. You're wrong though in my opinion, but we all like different things in coasters. Some of these i've done before in previous years, however if I just take my thoughts on this one trip, Twisted Timbers impressed me the most after Iron Gwazi. I still rate Goliath at SFGAm highly after getting on some new RMCs and some rate that as the worst, Canobie Coaster included!
Was Grizzly at Kings Dominion the roughest coaster for you in the world? The roughest coaster for you in the world was Grizzly at California's Great America?
In 2005 I waited 3 hours for volcano. (It kept breaking down) Then after the ride I literally couldn't ride anything else because I had the most massive headache from banging my head around!!!
You had too many 1's on Anaconda's ranking. You mis-typed 1 and put 11. LOL! All kidding aside, Shockwave I'd put lower, but I respect that. Did you ever get to ride Hypersonic XLC or the water ride/flume that was in the Volcano structure (along with a few others) prior to Volcano? And kudos for the Grizzly love. I enjoy it since I grew up riding it, kind of like I do with Anaconda, which I have a soft spot for. Used to be my number 1 coaster when I was oh, 12. Ha!
@@certifiednucci6315 it does get too much hate. Not the best coaster by any means, but its drop, first loop, and corkscrew finale are still fun to me. The middle... ehh.
I had 1.5 days at Kings Dominion in 2006. On my half day I saw Hypersonic operating, but it was a 2-3 hour wait so I planned to do it the next day. It never opened.
I 305 gets so much hate and I feel it's unfair. It's literally a NASCAR themed coaster, you get speed, laterals, transitions that remind the rider of seeing Dale Earnhardt passing Mark Martin or Bill Elliot to get the lead. This is the reallest of the real as far as I am concerned, at least outside of Ferrari World. This vid made me feel good cause it reminded me of Kings Island for some reason 😉😉😉

Ha!
Watch out, I'm in the comment section and I WILL rant about Anaconda if pressed
Anaconda was my first upside down coaster so i kinda still have that softspot. Its really not that bad
@@thomasxl200 *presses button
@@certifiednucci6315 it does get too much hate. Not the best coaster by any means, but its drop, first loop, and corkscrew finale are still fun to me. The middle... ehh.
I had 1.5 days at Kings Dominion in 2006. On my half day I saw Hypersonic operating, but it was a 2-3 hour wait so I planned to do it the next day. It never opened.
I would go there like Early August before school starts
Nice!
@@CanobieCoaster Yep
what do you mean, would have been? those rides are closed?
I had some closed rides on the list like Shockwave.
I see enthusiasts usually praising it.
@@CanobieCoaster 70/30 yo - needs a pop or 3 of more airtime🤣😎
I’m not gonna lie, that was a very controversial list, but opinions are opinions
Shockwave is probably the most controversial.
Canobie coaster not to be rude but you forgot to include berserker at kings dominion
It couldn't beat these 15.
What would you rate Dominator?
7
1. I 305

3.grizzly
4.drop tower

Nice list!
wha t is a gray out?
When positive forces cause you to lose your vision.
What would you rate Racer 75?
4ish
I305 is my #1, might seem wierd but 🤷🏻♂️
A lot of people have that as their top coaster.
@@CanobieCoaster thanks 😊
What would you rate Anaconda?
5ish
Videos like this make me think I’m an idiot, tomorrow I’m going to ride the intimidator because I want to know how it feels. But I dislike intensity, I will let y’all know how I’m feelin tomorrow lol.
It's really intense!
@@CanobieCoaster I’m back home and it’s was certainly a trip, I went on twice and I didn’t grey out either time, my brother taught me a trick to stop myself from greying out with was useful. It was a lot more fun the second time because the first I wasn’t able to focus on anything but breathing because it was all so new at once. I would recommend, it was a lot of fun.
me and my dad had a horrible time on twisted timbers the restraints plus seatbelt destroy your thighs, painful experience.
Ouch! I love the ride and find it comfortable.
Have you watched the blind side
No, but I've heard good things.
Never realized how many rides KD and KI share
Yup!
Intimidator 305 is so much better than the other rides at KD.
Twisted Timbers is a close 2.
Can-O-Beast in the motherbleeping DOMINION, suckas!!! VA all-day, homie G. CANOBIE CANOBIE. Love the video, bruh
I really like this park.
Of the defunct rides at Kings Dominion there were Hurler, Shockwave and Volcano the Blast Coaster? Did you like or love them?
I liked all of them (Hurler when smooth).
You know I think I305 is better than millennium force cause millennium force is not exactly anyone's favorite giga
I305 is far more intense, but I love both.
I don't know why he put grizzly even on the list. ITS BAD DO NOT RIDE unless to want to have a headache for 3 days.
I have never had an issue with it.
Intimidator 305 is not fun it is cool on the drop but then it’s just like I want to get off now plaese
To each their own.
I am not an adult and I did not gray out
Wow!
What do you think about Hurler at Kings Dominion and Hurler at Carowinds, experiences on both?
I like the layout. The ride is bad when it runs slow and rough.
At Kings Dominion, did you like Rebel Yell (Racer 75) after the retracking?
And did you like Backlot Stunt Coaster more than Dominator?
I prefer Dominator. Rebel Yell had better airtime pre-retrack.
What do you think about Hurler at Kings Dominion? How the experience was in 2006, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014?
It was great in 2006, but it was disappointing after.
Have seen in some websites that Grizzly was retracked during the 2022-2023 off-season.
Yes it was.
Did you like Avalanche and Crypt more than Volcano the Blast Coaster?
No
After Intimidator 305 and Twisted Timbers, your third favorite ride (including defunct ones) at Kings Dominion was
Volcano
Did you like Anaconda more than Grizzly, what do you prefer?
No
Did you like Hurler more than Intimidator 305?
No
