Convert entities works when you are in the sketching mode and you use it to convert and old sketch (which is rebuilt) or an edge of a solid body into a sketch on your current sketching surface.
@@mansoorishaker I am in sketch mode at 16:45, she activates Convert Entites, which I do, she mouses over to two edges, which I do, but I do NOT get the same edges she gets, it looks like she is able to grab -edge1- and -silhouette edge- from one side, but no way I cannot get that, I get the sihouette edge from the side, but I get -edge1- from the center line going up and down. @SolidWorksTutorials With Aryan nah it wasn't that, I followed the instructions well. I figured it out though. While drawing the path you said to break the first line before going up on an angle. This doesn't work and the path must be drawn without resetting the line tool. Also some feedback: the video is choppy when you select the circle edges for the convert entity step, some info on selecting the edge would be nice as I struggled to not select the face of the sphere. I dont even remember how I got it to select the silhouette edge 🤷♂️ cheers!
Most of the time the windows and colours and available buttons I had were fairly different to yours (I'm using 2017 aswel), and I suspect you were using hotkeys and clicking things you may have not mentioned.. it still got me started though =)

@@golanpeled8960 Understood. Thank you for the valuable feedback. Despite being an engineer I actually learned SW as a hobby. Throughout these years, I noticed how much it has allowed me to unleash my creativity by bringing my ideas onto a computer. I cannot code well, but this is kinda a visual coding for me to communicate with computers. I see no reason for anyone to deprive themselves from this opportunity. Especially in this day and age as computers are becoming more integrated in our lives. That's why I decided to make a course for this purpose. As a machinist, consider putting a 3D printer in your workshop. It will be a shortcut to many of your challenges. A smart shortcut not a lazy one. And yes! You are absolutely right. I am all about planning your model first before just modeling it. If you want to turn your part, use revolve to make it more compatible.
@@with-aryan I definitely share the same enthusiasm with you and agree with all the above you mentioned. for me, being able to make my own drawings form my ideas is very uplifting. I agree with you completely about the 3D printing, but I'm already sucked very much in terms of time and money into the cnc world. so it will have to wait. not sure tough , about how well the 3d printouts will be usable for every day. definitely will look into it. I saw some of your videos and so far exactly what I was looking for. must tell , one professor said that "only he who understands know how to explain" very oblivious in you case. the best compliment I can give you is that watching you're videos is my time well spent... thanks Ryan

I cant get the sweep to work, when I try to select profile and path, nothing happens
because you have drawn the profile and the sweep in one sketch. Or your profile is too large for your path
I dont even remember how I got it to select the silhouette edge 🤷♂️ cheers!
thank you it's really very helpful i hope to do more videos

Great, thank you!

You're welcome
"Design Spark Mechanical" is the only way to go. Trust me."

Hahaha hahaha
haha
Most of the time the windows and colours and available buttons I had were fairly different to yours (I'm using 2017 aswel), and I suspect you were using hotkeys and clicking things you may have not mentioned.. it still got me started though =)

one of the best if not the best... thanks
The best ;) Tell me, are you interested in a course?
@@with-aryan I'm a hobby machinist trying to make basic models for lathe and mill. Solidworks is amazing capable software, hence watching other people videos just felt complete waist of time. your approach is the right one , giving the tools and the strategy - laying the fundamentals. no doubt , if I was for learning solid as a pro, I would choose your webinar. At last someone who speaks in a language for the logic that I understand. learning curve with you is very steep, maybe exponential... thanks for sharing. already subscribed to your site with different mail.
cheers and blessings form Israel .
BTW, if I humbly add, it's important while drawing thinking of the way it's going to be made later. this might point to a certain drawing approach that will ease manufacturing. I'm thinking of revolving shapes for lathe for instance.
I saw some of your videos and so far exactly what I was looking for. must tell , one professor said that "only he who understands know how to explain" very oblivious in you case. the best compliment I can give you is that watching you're videos is my time well spent... thanks Ryan
I even recommended your videos to a friend who is a very high skilled [managing a factory] without hesitation. there is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path - your the ONE!
Suggestion for ALL tutorials ... Use a larger, solid red pointer Arrow so people can follow what your doing.
thank you! will do
Amazing mam, thanks a lot, awaiting much more
