I have had several but I kind of have to work on them because I buy them broken and don't know they are infested. If I just throw them away, I lose that money.
Nice job!. I'm thinking you should make some kind of wire connector with a momentary switch to trigger the 12 rail vs. tweezers. Don't get me wrong, that works, I just like making custom cables and stuff for testing. anything to make the job go easier!
I have a cable I use sometimes and I place wire jumpers in the end to short pins. I use if for troubleshooting motherboards as well as power supplies so I have not cut it and modded it yet. A cable to a small box with dip switches would be nice though....
Today I was able to repair the same power supply with same fault thanks to you! I've watched all your videos and have learned to a certain extent how these PSU's work. May I ask what is your professional background?
@@ToltecMerc My master... today I received a PS4 Slim with error code CE-34224-5 after trying to run any game. I have tried rebuilding database, reinstalling firmware, swapping hdd, other games but nothing has worked... have you ever encountered such error? Maybe something to do on a hardware level with the communication lines to the HDD? Please your advice.
@@shakangel666 are you getting power to your USB ports? It could be your nor flash chip. Or your USB flash drive update is wrong and you should redownload the update.
You will not convince me that the corrosion clued you to the roach problem first; the smell did. You can always smell the bastards. Those fxckers destroy electronics. You're lucky it didn't show up with live ones in it. If it did and one escaped, you have to call Terminex immediately. Anyway, I am also certain the main board would have a lot of roach poop to clean up too, especially anything that is warm. I would have like to see you take the main board out (working or not) and looked at the roach poop. This makes my skin crawl anymore.
Actually my sense of smell is really bad. Maybe if I stuck my nose down in the vents I would smell it. This one was not that bad of an infestation. Board was rather clean. The chassis not so much. Cleaning it now.
@@ToltecMerc I do not like admitting this, but I brought some home from a hotel one time. Over the next year, I tried to rid them myself and spent over $2K. They destroyed TVs, the Stove, the built-in microwave, etc. I used to think we must be dirty (we were not!!). We finally called Terminex. They came and sprayed, came back a week later. Within 2.5 week to 3 three weeks they were all dead. Now they come every three months an spray outside the house around the foundation for roaches for $130 and have never seen them again. Back them (about 5-6 years ago), you could find the bastard in the year in the grass. So, I am not sure if I did pick them up at a hotel, or if they came from what used to be a section 8 (out of town welfare relocation) three doors down. I still find dead ones today above suspended ceiling tiles. I replaced every tile in my shop, just because of that. All alliances and TVs have been replaced. I am very sensitive to those bastards. They do have a smell. It brings tears to my eyes just reliving the experience here.
@@ToltecMerc I remember a video that Louis Rossman did where he found one in a laptop and refused to work on it further saying that the customer was filthily. I can still remember that when I watch him fix something today. He well could be right but her was very judgmental without knowing the situation. My wife always kept this place spotless and we still had them. I wish I would have called Terminex sooner, but someone told us they would charge well over $2000. At the time we were in money trouble and tried to take care of the problem ourselves - big mistake!! I just hate what people think and say when they see you may have roaches. It is a stigma and even hearing that from Louis that time and see how he judged the customer hurt. Before we had them, a few were spotted running around at work, but they didn't have a lot of them; they always had bug control at that plant at least once a month. When I stay at a hotel now, I thoroughly inspect the room before taking cases in. I checkout if I find anything. At a pizza restaurant locally, a friend had one craw across his table and he caught it with an empty water glass. I would never go there again. I guess it can be hard to keep those bastards away. They outlived the dinosaurs, or so I have read. My skin is crawling just writing this.
Do you have a sketch or drawing of what the voltages should be on the pins of DNP012A ic on a slim psu? I have 4.8v but this ic is not switching on the 12V section optocoupler.
I don't have a lot of information on the DNP012A. It looks like 12V enable comes in on pin 1. Pin 7 drives the opto-isolator(IC55?) which should drive the transistor(Q41) that switches the 15V or so to the ICs that generate the +12V.
@@ToltecMerc yes pin 7. But i think pin 7 gives the ground to optoisolator IC55 (pin 2), as 4.8v is already available on pin 1 of IC55 through R158. On pin 4 of ic 55 there is 17v but it's not getting on. I was wondering what pre conditions dnp012a needs to turn on IC55. I have ordered 2 pieces of dnp012a but it will take 1+ months to reach my country. I was just wondering if that chip is faulty at all maybe the conditions to turn on q41 are not satisfied.
I haven't had more than probably 25 PS4s but every time I see these videos I am so happy, that I have not yet encountered infested devices.

Do you know where I can find a replacement for 70S1K4P7 (MOSFET?) that's located at the bottom right on this PSU PCB? It's positioned under T2.

I have a dead ps4 pro, same issue its a blown sop7 dap041 5v standby controller ic, different to the one in this video.
DAP041 is very similar. Same pinout as LD5760. I'm not sure they are interchangeable though. DAP046 can be replaced with LD5760.
