@@TheAlphaJayShow if u love the devil and mugman, u should check out the Cuphead table read that Netflix Geeked Week did. It's awesome as it's an episode for the future season
I love how the Devil doesn’t even really want Cuphead’s soul that badly, after he fails he just stops trying to get it himself until Stickler starts harassing him. That’s literally only reason he tries so hard in the later episodes.
@@ijn2477 anything pg-13 or above has swearing and the higher the rating is the more often and more vulgar it is so like pg-13 would be like that one shy kid that’s cursing for the first time, and R is like the hood
During the scenes where the devil was aggressively attempting to take cupheads soul in the montage, Cuphead was always in a position where it’d be the norm to not wear such covering clothes Ex: Hose chasing, sleeping,, at the beach- and changing clothes in a store. That was definitely intentional and it does show a level of calculation and patience on the Devils end.
He's the perfect villian he has the charm and the cunning. He's a serious villian but not overly serious to the point where he seems edgy. He's extremely powerful but is beaten by people way weaker than him. He's truly something every villain should aspire to be.
And that kind of devil has actually been used in a lot of stories throughout history. Shakespeare even had a play about a devil who was a buffoonish character.
i'm so glad you pointed out the beginning of "sweater off dead"!! as much as i love the cuphead show being mostly episodic shenanigans, i do think they're building up to a bigger plot later on. additionally, it's interesting that cuphead and the devil share a lot of traits - they're more focused on having fun than their responsibilities, they're thrill seekers with a bit of a temper (an understatement in the devil's case lol), and they even have a similar taste in jokes. it's really cool when the protagonist and the villain share traits like that! nice video!
Saltbaker actually traumatized me. Watching him butcher living food in the back of the final fight of the DLC is just... no. Just is manic eyes and wide smile alone, even when he was faking nice/ became good unnerves me.
I just got around to watching cuphead and I gotta say it's refreshing to see another villain that's fun and scary and treated as such. Now it's kinda hard to find a middle where characters aren't too serious or too laid back about villains. Like bill cipher for example, nice and scary bad guy with fun and charming moments.
I love the cup head show and the devil is the perfect rival they have the same energy and his will to take the soul of the cupheads is so funny to watch
Spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen the table read for The Devil's Pitchfork: I think the sweater is going to come back. After Mugman gets kidnapped Cuphead is going to somehow find the sweater locked away in Hell while coming to rescue him. Cuphead is going to offer his soul to The Devil in exchange for Mugman back, but he pulls a fast one by having the sweater on. The Devil gets electrocuted trying to claim the soul, both brothers get away, but Cuphead now owes The Devil his soul again so the status quo is returned, since in that episode it's also revealed Cuphead's soul debt expired. I don't think such a major plot point would be resolved so soon and in such an anti-climactic fashion.
I don't think Stickler is going to remove the sweater considering how much the Devil tries to kill him. Cuphead could ask stickler for it since they both hate the Devil and the devil hates both of them though
haha! the devil personally is one of my favorite characters due to the fact of how much of a drama queen he is, i would expect the devil to be so menacing when in reality hes more of a childish yet hilarious goof. :)
I love how the devil likes to play with his victims. For example with king dice. They made an entire gameshow scheming how to gain souls. That's what makes him my favorite character. He is smart and cunning but playful and childish. He throws a tantrum when he can't get cupheads soul. He really is an awesome villain.
Not gonna lie, my favorite episodes from the show all have the Devil in it. He's such a fun character to watch and he has some of the best scenes in the show.
Absolutely love the character and was definitely a treat to watch like I said to somebody else who did a breakdown on the animation the only real shame is that they had a few episodes we got was just basically an appetizer. But I can wait for more
Lol yeah, Bowser isn’t the brightest tool in the shed. Especially when he’s given a “chance to beat Mario”, he’s very likely to fall for another villain’s tricks.
Wander and Hater is truly one of the greatest and most perfect relations between a villain and a hero. But wait, isn't Hater an Anti-hero? Wait, he is. Well, what about Dominator? Dominator, unlike Vader-I-mean-Hater, is shown from their debut episode to be the perfect rival to Wander. Truly, Wander Over Yonder is one of the greatest Disney Channel shows ever.
I also love the overall theme of the show is about brotherly love. Just a bit of a spoiler for the VAs new episode where Cuphead loses his brother in the end of the episode made the audienced hooked in the cliffhanger (foreshadowed by the Charm episode)
me and my dad watched this show together (he loves the game) and he burst out laughing at the parts where the devil did anything remotely feminine. and i don't blame him.
From what I get from this this is a good version of using characters from a game to a show, haven’t watched it but maybe now I will .sounds like makes good use of characters. Honestly him patting him had me dead had to replay to make sure it wasn’t an edit

Literal Satan is a good arch villain for lots of things. it's actually true that he serves as an arch villain, in one way or another, for about four billion people on earth, give or take.
Arguably the House thing from Owl House probably ties into Willow and Gus's real full power. Besides the fact they and Luz are actually friends. Anyway, I'm honestly curious what shenanigans will occur in the future of the Cuphead cartoon. Feels like Ms Chalice would've been hunted by him.
I suuuuure baroness von bon bon is the devil competition. Because... WOW yeah they nailed it. It feel like they even beefed up the graphic a smigg on this one
You know, that got me thinking, if the devil wanted Cuphead's soul so bad, why not just wait until he dies? And yeah, the Devil is a very charming character to watch
i really hope that instead of the devil continuing to come back, he becomes acquainted with the cups, so he lets them go off without getting cupheads soul as long as they get a few other people's souls that also escaped, it could lead to some cool fights and room for many more boss appearances
The Devil from Cuphead is one of my favorite 2020s cartoon villains next to Omni Man from Invincible. His voice reminds me of Peter Griffin with a British accent.
honestly if there is one true problem with The Devil being the main baddy of Cuphead is that it will make it almost impossible to top him as an antagonist, I mean Saltbakear wasn't bad, but he isn't in par with the Devil especially that he was allowed to reform
Wait till you get to Season 2 where, by the looks of the clips, there's a Statute of Limitations on getting Cuphead's soul. Plus, they somehow get the Devil's Pitchfork and attempt to eat spaghetti with it (among other things).
The devil was my favorite part of the Cuphead show. He manages to be really funny but at the same time in every scene he is not in there is always that looming thought that he could pop up literally at any time and drag Cuphead’s soul to hell. I think “sweater of dead” handled that pretty well. We’ve seen the previous episodes and thought they just forgot about that day at the carn-evil but this episode implies that Cuphead probably has had this looming thought as well but they just haven’t shown it and then we are also shown that the reason the devil hasn’t come to collect Cuphead’s soul yet is because he’s just too rapped up in his own stuff to care. Also seeing the devil paint the fence was just so incredible, such dedication and willing to show of, plus that the whole time I imagined elder Kettle waking up to seeing the devil paint his fence 😂. Seeing Cuphead and the devil bonding in that line was also really fun as you don’t really think of the devil as someone who makes friends and you know the devil is only waiting until he is able to collect Cuphead’s soul without being electrocuted. Such an amazing show!
Hold up. So I’m guessing you’re (you as in Alpha Jay) intentions for the next Devil encounter were completely different, or rather “switched”. Idk how long it was since we got this but Netflix dropped a video of the one of season 2’s new episodes “The Devil’s Pitchfork”, where the voicers were doing their thing as we got to see some of the episode. In this episode (don’t read any more if you don’t want spoilers), it’s revealed that Cuphead’s soul debt was expired, and the devil no longer possesses the ability to take his soul, and the way Cuphead and Mugman react to that was to practically bully his pathetic self (via his pitchfork). As a response, seeing as the pitchfork rightfully belonged to the devil, he decided to kidnap Mugman and take him down the elevator to hell - Mugman being the brother who rightfully belonged to Cuphead (enforcing the 2 wrongs make a right, seeing as, well, he’s the devil). So rather than Cuphead being the victim targeted, the tables were turned towards Mugman. With this idea, I bet with your, quote, “writer’s brain”, you could make an entertaining, yet challenging video. I’d definitely watch if I have the chance. Sub is definitely being given. Surprised I haven’t before.
"It seems like the smart idea would just be to get Mugman away." Me, who's seen the Geeked Week table read ep and knows what's coming: 😏 (Also, who else thinks that "When in doubt young man of mug, give your brother one last hug." is gonna come back somehow in another episode? Maybe the one after the one I just mentioned?)
7:30 if you pay more attention, it begins to seem like qaudratus was lying/joking about the love, he sounded suspicious when he said it, and when mugman hugs cuphead, you can see that the ground is actually covered with sweat and tears, which would've probably stopped the fire anyways
Ya know it be kinda Ironic if there ever was an episode where The Devil had to join forces with the 2 main protagonists in order to solve a problem or even stop something or someone from doing something that they both don't like maybe like an episode where the Chef Saltbaker is about to turn Cuphead's soul into a Wondertart to rule the astral plain but Mugman Ms Chalice and even The Devil breaks on in to stop him before he even tries to
I should have probably said this about the video on the article but what it was talking about with king dice was about how relevant he is in the game. He’s the devil’s right hand man and basically a brick wall before you beat every boss in an an area/isle while also appearing every time the devil is shown and you can’t even fight the devil without fighting him first. Also this doesn’t really relate to anything but with that article’s point of the show not relating to the game, that gave me an idea. Since cuphead gambles away both his and mugman’s souls, maybe the devil and dice could build the casino to not just gain more souls but also trick cuphead with riches and potentially even have the game cuphead plays be rigged so that he wins, this would lure him to double down on it and lose both his and mugman’s soul since the at that point the devil would probably want mugman’s too.
The way they made the whole show is amazing. I mean whats the plot twist if the devil, mugman and cuphead didn't hangout in that episode? But then he realizes that Cuphead wasnt wearing the sweater then decided that friendship was a lie.. Does anyone see the devil as a cat or is it just me?
my only problem to say he is one of my favorite characters is that i'm a Christian. what i can say is that you can't take him as serious Devil, and it is the part that makes him funny. he can't defeat the guy who loses at Roll the Dice, show that is impossible to lose, and even couldn't name Twinkle Twinkle Little Star correctly. and somehow he has one of my favorite episodes. and in Season 2 he DESTROYS his finest and second-finest demons because of how angry he is, he literally EXPLODES with anger.
Not Tuesday or Friday, but more Cuphead is always good.

This guy reminds me of Discord from MLP, and I love it. All the same, I don't think the two would get along.
Well that happened in. The last episode of S2
the way he describes the devil perfectly describes me too
my only problem to say he is one of my favorite characters is that i'm a Christian. what i can say is that you can't take him as serious Devil, and it is the part that makes him funny. he can't defeat the guy who loses at Roll the Dice, show that is impossible to lose, and even couldn't name Twinkle Twinkle Little Star correctly. and somehow he has one of my favorite episodes. and in Season 2 he DESTROYS his finest and second-finest demons because of how angry he is, he literally EXPLODES with anger.
The asset joke took me a minute
Watching this before Netflix uses the “fight” option. To this video
