But it is very important to note that The Messiah did not remove Himself from presenting His rules to those He ministered The Word to. He understood the importance of delivery. If we pay attention to how The Messiah moved in The Gospels, we will see that He did not separate Himself from sharing His commandments. He shared His rules through the utilization of wisdom and discretion. And we cannot ignore the fact that He also came on the scene instructing His people to "repent" for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. This alone teaches us that He was not only going to demonstrate His love and kindness to His people, but He was prepared to bring them into the truth by exposing them to His rules (His spiritual laws). In Matthew 5 we see The Messiah teaching the beatitudes to His people. These are identified as "blessings" by definition. But they are also real spiritual laws. These blessings are in alignment with the nature of laws, because they help to release light where darkness is present. And that light acts as a form of protection over that soul. When a soul comes into agreement with the light, that soul is coming into agreement to be protected by a true moral structure. Natural laws can also teach us this truth. When we follow the laws, our lives flow much more smoother. And we stay under a protective covering which helps to preserve the value of our life. The Messiah understood the importance of delivery. He did not teach His Word without His rules. His rules were able to convict and penetrate hearts because He was very clear and transparent about the love and affection He has for the human soul. His love foreran the ministry of His Word and the rules (commandments) followed through with beautiful surgical procedures that worked the ground of the human soul. I've gone to work a few times with barbecue in my hand on the bus, and one time this other dude told me and others on that bus, that his oldest niece tried to stab him to death because he took the last barbecue hot link. To act that way over a plate of food, or piece of food is a sin that is one that a person also needs deliverance from.
He is right about trying to get sinners to act like Saints. We need to love them in and give them grace to turn from sin. The message is love with accountability.

At first I thought the title was misleading because he was on point when he was telling about how to deal with those dealing when they have not entered the Kingdom yet. There has to be very meticulous precaution when dealing with people outside the Kingdom and at the time we have to let people be in the state that their in knowing if you continue to bring the gospel God will not allow them to perish because He has sent you to bring them into the Kingdom. Now I have heard this before so many times. The Bible does not talk about the act of smoking but it does talk about the attributes of the thing that is done. Crack and Weed is not in the Bible but the word Witchcraft is which is Pharamkeia which is where we get our word for Pharamacy which during that time that deal with drugs and also drunkeness is in the Bible. Those two things alone show if the activity that you are doing pertains to those two things, then it is a sin. When he said do not defile the temple, let me ask you a question, if you were to walk in your house and you smelled nothing but smoke, would you be comfortable? Isn’t it interesting that stuff we were told God explicitly prohibited was never mentioned in scripture (slot machines, smoking, wine with dinner, etc.) and the stuff God explicitly clarified His prohibition on (sexual sin, stinginess, meanness, etc.) we’ve found a way to “by His grace” away in our lives.
The problem is that, just like anything else, if it is a debilitating vice, it's now a problem. I smoke myself, but I do so because I feel that it keeps me from either weighing 300lbs. or doing something really stupid that can land me in prison or going suicide by cop.

Even though I don’t entirely agree with the smoking thing, he is correct in the message he’s trying to convey. He also said the man smoking is still not a believer as of yet. However, if an unconverted person respects the Holy Spirit in you enough to refrain from committing an offense (or sin) in your presence, then you should never give them permission to do so. They are looking to those of us who are spiritual for guidance. Effectively, he just condoned and encouraged that behavior. Second, while the Bible does not explicitly say "Do not smoke", there are spiritual principles in the Scripture that clearly condemn smoking. He addresses the the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (and I agree with him that many believers abuse their temple). But there is also the principle that the works of the flesh includes witchcraft. The Greek word is pharmakeia and it means medicine, drugs. We know that witchcraft is always about controlling the person. So, the smoker obviously had an addiction that was controlling him. Third, the bible tells us not to be partakers in another man's sin (1 Tim. 5:22).
I agree that there technically no scripture that says not to smoke however there is technically no scripture when God the Son took on flesh where it was written of Him saying something directly about homosexuality. We obviously know Jesus was against it through his endorsement of marriage between man and woman however this is what we call a logical fallacy brothers and sisters. It seems on surface that brother Fernandez is a man of God (I really don't know too much about him) but I don't really see him persuading anyone who's saved to smoke. The Bible does speak against Christians smoking, doing drugs, etc in Gal 5:20. It’s called sorcery(Gk:pharmakeia). I won’t speak against this sermon bc I didn’t see the whole thing in context. But I will say that we adhere as people to everything else. When we start a new job we adhere to rules on smoking, drinking, clothing/uniforms standards and all. But when we get saved and go to church, preachers (not necessarily those who get saved) and parishioners are the ones who are quick to say they don’t need to change anything, instead of showing them the new life, new way of walking and talking in Christ.

So demanding a passage say “Thou shalt not smoke” is absolute foolishness. 1 Corinthians 6:19 Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own, Smoking introduces the body to exposure to toxic chemicals. Are we going to say that it’s ok to fill our bodies with toxic chemicals in favor of what this “bishop” is saying? Why do people smoke sir??
The Bible does speak against Christians smoking, doing drugs, etc in Gal 5:20. It’s called sorcery(Gk:pharmakeia). I won’t speak against this sermon bc I didn’t see the whole thing in context. But I will say that we adhere as people to everything else. When we start a new job we adhere to rules on smoking, drinking, clothing/uniforms standards and all. But when we get saved and go to church, preachers (not necessarily those who get saved) and parishioners are the ones who are quick to say they don’t need to change anything, instead of showing them the new life, new way of walking and talking in Christ.
Pharmakeia is where we get the English word for pharmaceuticals, drugs, mind altering substances etc.
He’s telling the truth. Read and understand your Bible. Too many legalistic people and preachers trying to send people to hell. The same thing Jesus accused the Pharisees of doing.
Too many deceived people and saints trying to send people to Heaven as well. Jesus also said "FEW THERE WILL BE" that will go to Heaven.

@NathanAHogan How is your diet? Do you only eat organic foods? Do you consume sugar, caffeine, or eat fast foods? Do you take prescription medication other than life sustaining meds? Do you go to the doctor when you're sick or do you pray? Are you overweight or have health issues caused by an improper diet? All those things I mentioned are sins as well and in the same exact boat with smokers. Being overweight is a SIN! GLUTTONY is a sin - its cleary written in the Bible. You know what's not in the Bible? Smoking! So the point here is before you try to take the speck out of my eye, get the plank out of yours. If smokers are going to hell so are fat people.

Now, perhaps there is some confusion in the comments.... I'm responding to someone saying cigarettes are a sin....if cigarettes are a sin, then so are the things I mentioned. Not sure the point you're trying to make. I really hope it's not that you can just eat anything you want to....as in eating junk food and overeating because that's clearly a sin. Romans 14 does not negate the fact that being fat is a sin.

Even the Apostle Paul spend time with the unsaved Jews in efforts to save some.. I believe it is the intent of the Bishop and not necessarily to encourage this man to defile himself. 1 Corinthians 9:20 -22
Now let me explain why his theology is severely flawed. Using an argument based upon nothing more than what the Bible does not expressly forbid/condemn, as justification for committing certain acts; will fail every time. The Bible doesn’t expressly forbid/condemn driving your car into a brick wall at 100 mph, but common sense dictates that it’s not a smart thing to do. So demanding a passage say “Thou shalt not smoke” is absolute foolishness.

Smoking introduces the body to exposure to toxic chemicals. Are we going to say that it’s ok to fill our bodies with toxic chemicals in favor of what this “bishop” is saying? It’s not so much what he says, as is the way he’s saying it that makes it dangerous.
