Like Barbra Streisand said, at 73 years old she was still too young to leave this world, what a bright light she was, makes you wish Xanadu was a real place because that's where she would be right now, we're still mourning her and will miss her like crazy.
As a child of the early 70’s, I grew up listening to Olivia Newton-John as my parents played her music on 8-tracks and cassettes 😂. When Xanadu came out, I begged to see the movie. I absolutely loved the movie and fell in love with this song. I still play it to this day along with many of her songs. She was such a beautiful light in this world and now she’s shining that light down on all of us. Thank goodness we have her music and movies to help keep her spirit alive in this world. Thank you for this reaction! 🙏🏻
Olivia Newton-John was probably the most beautiful personality, who has ever walked the world... In my opinion, she was the first lady of women around the world with a sense of humor and an eternal smile that was her greatest message to the whole world... She was the best of us all and it's strange that I'm still sad about her passing, even though I'm from the younger generation and the other side of the planet.... And seeing that beauty from Xanadu makes me want to cry... That was her strength.... Sending condolences to Australia from the Czech Republic...
I recognize that look on your face, bro. It's the exact same look I had on mine when I was 8 and first saw Xanadu way back in 1983. I immediately fell in love with Olivia's beauty and voice, my first and only celebrity crush. I watched that film so many times that, to this day,, my 75 year old mother still has flashbacks if she hears the word Xanadu lol Olivia Newton-John was one of those rare souls that are so bright it brightens everyone's day. She was the epitome of gracious and always humble despite being one of the best selling female artists of all time. She had a lovely personality, her wit and charm could put a smile on anyone's face. Xanadu (1980) is still a film I love, and I'm not ashamed to say so. It may be a bit cheesy, and a little corny, but it will alway hold a special place in my heart. Also, you should check out Olivia's 2006 (released in 2008 on dvd) concert featuring the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. It's absolutely amazing, my guy, and showcases many of her greatest hits (as well as some extra footage of her walking around Sydney doing some sightseeing). Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Keep rockin' and stay heavy! Wishing everyone peace, love, and good happiness stuff from the mountains of northeastern Alabama ❤🤘
This song is from the 1980 American musical fantasy film "Xanadu". It starred Olivia Newton-John, Michael Beck & Gene Kelly in his final film role. The film features music by Olivia Newton-John, ELO, Cliff Richard & The Tubes. The movie got mixed reviews but there are a lot of good songs such as "Magic", "Suddenly", "I'm Alive", "Don't Walk Away", "All Over The World" etc.
I love gene Kelly! So glad Olivia and gene were in a film together! Love this song! And gene in skates again after the fab dance route did on skates in it's always fair weather brill! I must watch this movie again.in the UK grease is on a few times a year but I've not seen Xanadu on UK TV for decades unless they use it as v late night filler?
In my 65 years on this Earth, Olivia Newton John is the closest thing I've ever seen to the perfect woman. A totally beautiful creature, inside and out, with talent to spare, and a deep love for humanity. I think God was just showing off, the day he created her.
It's pronounced Zanadu! She was something else. A wonderful spirit, woman, fighter, and as sweet as can be. The world lost an amazing talent. Thanks, James!❤❤
She did bring happiness to the world! I have seen Xanadu like 4 times in my life between 1980 when it came out to 1985 or so! That is 4 times between the ages of 5 and 10! And I can still remember things from it clearly!
Style, grace, elegance!! Amazing voice. ONJ was the total package. Genuinely a very lovely person. I was a teen in the 70's, and like many boys/men I too had a big crush on Olivia., but I also was mesmerized by her remarkable voice.
She was pretty freakin’ amazing! That movie was one of my favorites of hers She had the voice of an Angel that’s for sure & she was one of a kind She is missed so very much by all who loved her
Rest well, ONJ. This song was written and produced by Jeff Lynne of ELO with ELO performing instruments and backup vocals. ELO is a group you’ve reacted to and like.
Olivia was just pure joy to watch whether she was singing, acting or just walking down the street. She was a one of a kind beauty, inside and outside. All of the guys wanted to be with her, and all of the gals wanted to be her. She is so missed. RIP beautiful Olivia. JB, help keep her memory alive by doing what you do. Thank you for this reaction. I know that you like John Denver as well. Any of his music on your channel would be appreciated. I would ask for "Leaving On a Jet Plane" with John Denver and Cass Elliot.
I love to see that joy exude all across your face. Olivia was an amazingly beautiful, talented, and lovely person. The movie would be a great reaction. You will love the soundtrack! ELO wrote Xanadu and has their own version of this title sung by Jeff Lynne. ELO wrote and performed several more songs on the soundtrack also.
Isn't she just stunningly beautiful? And from what her friends and those close to her have said, she was just as beautiful on the inside. When I was a little girl, like little little, I saw Grease, and all I wanted in the world after that was a ponytail and a poodle skirt like Sandy (her character), lol. There's a special place in my heart for this fine lady, and there always will be. Rest in Glorious Peace, Dame Olivia, the world is a darker place since your light went out.
I agree she is stunningly beautiful physically, and her personality and energy are equally beautiful . I was born in 1970 and loved the songs of Grease incl. Hopelessly devoted to you. My favourite video of hers is this one however - she mesmerises. It really makes me feel a mix of sadness at her passing, nostalgia for a certain era and joy at the music she has left us
JB, you should hear Olivia sing please don’t keep me waiting and Landslide… She really does have amazing vocals. so many of us are going to miss her terribly… RI sweet P, Olivia.💙💙💙
Another big time upbeat ONJ banger is Twist Of Fate. Also, The Rumour (written and produced by Elton John) is super fun. She looks GORGEOUS in both videos, too.
One of my first 8tracks was ONJ lol my cousin had a crush and a half on her (who didn't? Hehee) so I think he stole it for the photo on the cover😂 I forgive him!😉 Thanks for this reaction, your joy is contagious! And thanks to Olivia, for the years of happiness and music, RIP!🙏♥️✌

Bro, I'm crushing along with you! Don't feel bad about it. She was a rare one. Glad you are finally seeing her and clearly you appreciate her, which is awesome. Please keep going with her music. Here are some you haven't done yet that are great. 3 upbeat ones are "A Little More Love"; "If Not for You" and "Let Me Be There", and a couple great slow ones are: "I Honestly Love You" and "Sam". Please give them a shot when you can! Thanks!!
I would recommend you do a reaction to the movie. It's kind of light in terms of plot, but the soundtrack is superb (how can it not be). I enjoyed it, but I (admittedly) saw it through a kind of 'I love Olivia' haze. Saw it a few years later, and it held up. Still a light-hearted romp, but the nostalgia for the songs, and their gorgeous singer, was like a tidal wave washing over me. I think you'll love it!
Olivia Newton John voz principal, Jeff Lynne (productor, compositor, coros, guitarra) ,Kelly Groucott (coros y bass Line) Richard Tandy (synth) Bev Bevan ( drum), Hugh MacDowell (chellos y coros) Melvin Gale (chellos y coros) Mik Kaminski (Electric violín) they are The Electric Light Orchestra. Arreglos orquestales Louis Clark.
I grew uo in the 70s.. terrible losing someone like Olivia. Same with Michael Jackson and Elvis. How about Michael Jackson like Shake Your Body or Off the Wall. It's a great album
The Electric Light Orchestra (E.L.O.) was one of the bands that made music for this movie. You can hear them in this song doing the backup vocals. Olivia played a character I think from Greek myth called a muse, so she has an otherworldly quality.
Love your channel, and your contagious happy personality. Other songs from ONJ I know you will like...A Little More Love, Twist of Fate, Suddenly, Have You Never Been Mellow. Take care, thank you for what you do!
Of the way too many music reaction videos and reactors I've watched - you seem a uniquely wonderful soul. Keep wearing that heart on your sleeve man, even should it get knocked off. If I could make a suggestion, here's a since passed performer I never see any one react to that I think you might like if you've not heard/seen it before - the so talented Al Jarreau (w/ Debbie Davis) singing the jazz standard "Since I fell for you" - ua-cam.com/video/MqeweSIlvJQ/v-deo.html
i was so excited to see this movie but most of the reviews were not kind. And of course they were published the day it opened. My friend and I still went to this huge movie theater with a 500 seat capacity and we were the only two people there. The movie was OK but i remember both of us agreeing the music was fabulous. And we got a private concert from Olivia. My friend remarked that she was so pretty and talented and I will never forget how I responded. I said " I want to be her". The only time in my life I wanted to be a woman. She was such a powerful, but humble talented force.
This song was with ELO (Electric Light Orchestra). Loved this back in the summer of 1980. Couple of ELO tracks you might consider. Shine a little love Mr Blue Sky Ticket to the moon xx
James, please react to John Denver and Olivia Newton John's duet of John Denver's song "Fly Away" from their performance on John Denver's Christmas Special in 1976 ! Absolutely breathtaking. I think that you'd enjoy!!
Your so cute , I loved your reaction watching Olivia, she is very beautiful and I really like her silky hair. I dont remember likeing xanadu movie but I really like the music.
Request: Patti Loveless, You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive (live at ACL) I don’t see that you’ve reacted to this or her. I could be wrong. A beautiful, yet haunting song to react to. Her voice is incredible!! ua-cam.com/video/1n57WBtvtC4/v-deo.html

Wonderful film. ❤️
The problem with song Magic is that they only used it for transitional music and not a group choreographed effort like the Song Xanadu here.
God love your reaction as we all loved Olivia. What a beauty, voice talent and what a great hearted woman. RIP ONJ
"Have You Never Been Mellow" by Olivia is one of my favorites!!!
She was so beautiful. Words can’t even express. She was a beautiful fairie fae princess.
I grew up in the 80’s and she was my fave…she is absolutely beautiful …
Same here. I was about 3 when I first watched Grease, and she was my first idol.
Xanadu was a great movie. A lot of people didn't like it but I love Olivia and the music and dancing in it was amazing. I still love the movie.

Rest well, ONJ. This song was written and produced by Jeff Lynne of ELO with ELO performing instruments and backup vocals. ELO is a group you’ve reacted to and like.
Yes she had range, very talented lady and very underrated at times.
:54 that's the sound we all made when we saw this. 1980 like it was yesterday.
Olivia was just pure joy to watch whether she was singing, acting or just walking down the street. She was a one of a kind beauty, inside and outside. I'm glad you discovered her, and this super underrated film. Your mama had good taste. One of my favorite female voices of all time.
Crush away. She was true beauty
There is a beautiful duet Olivia did with John Farnham. It is so lovely.
She sang this with ELO!!! Produced by Jeff Lynne.
She most certainly does have the range

You need to checkout the entire Xanadu soundtrack. It's bonkers!
I grew up with her so sad toe hear of her passing

Could you please react to Olivia Newton-John singing please Mr please the live version from 1982?
ELO is the back up band for this song.
We are in mourning in Australia she was a beacon of light of beauty
She got you to fall in love with her too didn't she

She was so lucky to have the backing of ELO. The combination of her voice with Geoff Lynne's production is just perfection.
This song was with ELO (Electric Light Orchestra). Loved this back in the summer of 1980.
Couple of ELO tracks you might consider.

James, please react to John Denver and Olivia Newton John's duet of John Denver's song "Fly Away" from their performance on John Denver's Christmas Special in 1976 ! Absolutely breathtaking. I think that you'd enjoy!!
Suggestion: "Tonight I'm Alright" by Narada Michael Walden - Amazing for a song from 1979.
You should play her song SAM. I grew up to her movies abd music and have albums of her

Xanadu written by Jeff Lynne (ELO) and supplying backing vocals etc.
Xanadu is a guilty pleasure...the movie was not so hot, but the music was AMAZING. ON-J, ELO (you can hear Jeff Lynne all over this soundtrack), Cliff Richard...it was all so very good.

Hated Xanadu but Loved Olivia!
The movie is truly AWFUL but worth it for the music alone.
This is actually a duet, with ELO.
You have to watch the movie! The acting is awful, but the soundtrack!!
The song was good. But the movie flopped.
And what does this have to do with this reaction? Sounds like a bot/scam to me.
