Dave would be an amazing university lecturer. The way he can articulate ideas and concepts in a quick-witted and understandable way would serve him well in academia. Hopefully he’ll consider it at some point in life.

I'm definitely looking forward to Dave's next special, because it sounds like he's not going to be pulling any punches. But, if you're interested, the James Baldwin quote itself is a reference to 2 Peter Chapter 3 from the Bible. The whole chapter is dealing with the topic, but the briefest way to directly address the quote are verses 6 and 7, here rendered in NIV.

For the rainbow sign, you've got to go back to the Old Testament, Genesis 9. Here's the briefest quote that would cover it.
