    Lyrics:
    Elevated by definition
I've never been a stranger to folly
    I've been clambering for purchase
    And given none
    Venerating every endeavour
    To defy the baser mechanics
Why would there be an exception
    For us
    When nothing ever lasts?
You double down upon your position
    Ever zealous in your denial
    Still extrapolating meaning
    With fervour
Slinging around the same response for centuries
(I'm) Getting tired of all these rebuttals
Why do we keep on entertaining
    The assumption
    That it should be fair?
    There's no evading it
    The inescapable reality
But even in my bleakest moments I find myself
    Relinquishing my bitterness
    Suddenly it comes to me
Nothing's what it seems to be
    And all of my apathy
    Is dissipating like the wind
If everything will turn to rust
And none of this was owed to us
    Then all we experience
    Will have to be enough
So I'll cling to that instead
    Beyond imagining,
    The distances untravelled
    I'll embrace these limitations
And stop trying to escape them
    I'm free
And all you'll ever be, is
    Forever indifferent to me

I'm not totally into the rest of their work, but this piece... just... wow. Even after 50 listens over several months, it keeps getting better. It's magnificent. Beautiful and intricate one moment, emotional and intense the next, effortlessly flowing between harmonies and heavyness. Truly a masterpiece of prog music and musical storytelling. Thank you for enriching my life!

I'm an old guy (60+ years) who is a prog music listener and musician. Now this! What I hear in this music is the groove, (from blues music improvisation) and cutting the chords into melody whith the guitars. Well, this is really music! I don't know if they made this together in the studio or separate. Ask them😃

a few days ago i bought a ticket to the concert of my all-time favorite band TOOL, and it will be in about 100 days..

You gotta split your signal into a clean amp and a slightly overdriven one, add delay and little drops of flanger and reverb for some Tool-ness when you need it.
Also having a separate eq for high-mids and low-mids like on Darkglass B7K pedal, basically buying B7K will give you what you want, but grownups play into two amps.
