Came across this man when I was convalescing in Sweden after a major operation in 86, just what was needed at that time in my life, thank you Annalerna.x

As all of you have noted, Michael Franks has a unique voice but the lyrics he's produced/written speak volumes. Being a NYer born and raised hearing him take me back to my teen days from riding the #1 Train to midtown to defining his/our vice to the famous Italian ices. If you ever have spent an extended time in NY Franks touches almost all the great areas of Manhattan. Him being from La Jolla, CA but writing like a native New Yorker says it all.
First time I ever heard Michael Franks I was on Samosir Island, Lake Toba in Sumatra. We heard this amazing music floating across the water and we yelled out 'Who is that singing'? A voice yelled back, 'Michael Franks'. I've been a fan ever since.
