I know it probably wont happen with how Bungie has been recently, but it would be cool to see some unique weapons and armor sets from both games get shared with cool lore tie ins. So popular armor sets and weapons can have a version in both games for all to enjoy.
It would be funny if this is actually insanely good and puts up some sort of rivalry with Bungie themselves. Maybe that will get Bungie to innovate more.
In all honesty, if this could be put on PC and consoles it could be a huge thing. Im super curious on the time era too, new lore, new people to meet, new weapons/rarity, new abilities/supers. I’m hyped ngl

For a mobile game, it looks great. If they manage to put it on Google Play or something to play on PC, i'd give it a try. I would hope that these two studios exchange Ideas between main and mobile game. actually no. From what I know, a company paid Bungie years ago for the rights to use the Destiny IP and work with them so develop it. In short, Bungie didn't fund its development, the other company did.
I think it's a really weird thing for the devs to say "this is in an ALTERNATE TIMELINE, with its own characters and circumstances," and then say "this is a great entry point in to the Destiny universe." Like, even if they're separate games, if one directly informs the other and is treated as CANON, if you like Destiny 2, you have investment and reason to play Rising, and vice versa. "Alternate timeline" suggests, yes, they could go way off course and do what they want...cool...but if it's not really going to relate to what's going on in Destiny 2, then to me, it's a waste of space in the market and only serves to muddy what could have been consistent and larger lore pool. In a franchise where lore and story are already deprioritized by many players.
Well, even canon Destiny has alternate timelines, so it could be ‘canon’ in sense of lore but exploring those one of those alternate timelines. So it would be a good entry way to get into the lore.

It’s not suggested or implied that the Young Wolf suddenly just got resurrected again or woke up there. It’s like that purely as a tutorial, nothing more. Hence why the quest is called ‘new light.’ The Red War takes place after the events of Destiny 1. I don’t get what about that is implied in any way to be a reboot? It’s no different than a new storyline beginning in an expansion. Most events from D1 get continuations? We go back to the Black Garden and see how it’s changed. Oryx’s death and actions as the Taken King have huge effects throughout the story, particularly in Forsaken as it dives into what Oryx was up to during the Taken King. We see how the Fallen have changed due to all of the damage we did to them in the first game, and we see the rest of Cabal empire showing up as it gets reports of what’s happening in Destiny 1. What is influx for the player, and this was true in Destiny 1 as well, is who the player character actually is and what they do while simultaneously treating every other player as still existing, just not being the ‘Young Wolf.’ It’s why some events, like ‘New Light’ tutorial quest, don’t treat the player like they’re the Young Wolf from D1 while the actual campaigns do. People are scared about Destiny 3 because they’re guns and armor and all of that will not carry over and having to start from scratch from a purely gameplay perspective, not a lore one. It’s unlikely we would be playing as anyone but the Young Wolf, the player character we’ve been playing as for most of Destiny 1 and 2.
Remember back when Destiny had an art style that made you think you were looking at a moving painting? Remember when it had a relatively grounded aesthetic for its setting? These days, it just looks like a Marvel/Overwatch clone.

D1 updated is all I want right now. High FPS, adjustable FOV, smoother gameplay, some things from D2 like the class abilities (barricade, dodge, rift), clamber, and on PC/XSX/PS5. Destiny: Remastered would be the title perhaps.
And for those who don't know, Warframe is also on mobile...but it's entirely the same game. With crossplay and cross save. Meaning, if you already play on PC, Xbox, PS or Switch and want to play on a mobile device, get a login reward, do a couple quick easy relic runs or a timed alert, you can do that and your progress registers right back to your main platform when you're done. There are A LOT of Destiny players who have said "I don't want to start over from scratch," well...that's about to happen here.
i search the app store every couple of weeks looking for a good mobile game but never find one and i’ve been bored of the d2 gameplay loop too many times to come back but i love the lore and always wanted to play a different kind of game with the same ip. also no matter how bad d2 gets, i’ll play every day if they bring back the clever dragon model and the second i saw that gun in the trailer i became this games number one fan
There's potential, but if it's a NetEase Gacha game I'll never touch it. Also frustrating to heck that Bungie is willing to throw money at basically any project other than D2 or D3.

I like the look, but 6 man Raid, PvP !! What about battery life! You will need to be hooked to mains power. I would try it on my Ipad Pro 4th Gen, but not sure on my Samsung 20 Fe 5G, small screen and controls on screen no way. I will have a look. Warframe didn't make their mobile as replacement but as alternative, they thought the whole mobile game though for couple years and it's linked to the actual game, you can play from phone with someone on Xbox and the game quality won't drop bcs of this, destiny here are replacing the actual game with mobile one, and I don't expect much after Bungie kicked the ones who cooked the story and lived years perfecting it and now they let some random company do what they want, i don't need to explain further to know where this is going

It's depressing that the best Destiny we see is in a mobile game made by a different company paying Bungie to use their IP. Can't wait to see/play it and find a bunch of stuff I with D2 had, but minus all the pay-2-win crap from the mobile platform. Destiny has always had multiple time lines? Alternate timelines is kind of the Vex’s whole stick. This is a different company making it, hence the alternate timeline so they have more freedom and less communication between companies is needed.

I feel like most of the graphics are going to drop considerably in game. Mobile games tend to have the best cinematics that don’t match the gameplay.

It's depressing that the best Destiny we see is in a mobile game made by a different company paying Bungie to use their IP. Can't wait to see/play it and find a bunch of stuff I with D2 had, but minus all the pay-2-win crap from the mobile platform.

I think you are on to something, could be awesome if they did that, Destiny have licensed their content to NetEase. Why not ask them to license some of their weapons supers back to Bungie. Would help both games.

wtff happened to this once great company...... what a shame. they were the first company to realize they could vault content and then SELL just about anything they wanted not only cosmetics but also literal dungeons (that SHOULD COME WITH the seasons) and make triple the money all the while removing things you SHOULD OWN FOR LIFE. promising more content that isnt nearly as good as what it used to be. its an absolute shameless cash grab grift and they were the first to say, albeit quietly, "nah you don't actually own this game" and we can take anything we want away from you at any time and NOT replace it with some better or just as good, but instead make you PAY ONCE AGAIN for some unfinished dlc that will also become invalid in a couple months..... pathetic.
this is when i got off the Destiny hype train. they should have stuck to the original D1 strategy, vaulting, and having to pay for dungeons and season passes and all that over and over and over..... i mean great scam, I'm still surprised ppl putt up with it and there hasn't been an actual revolution against this game and their practices.

when a mobile game looks more entertaining than the main franchise. Being free to play tho and an eastern dev, i fear they'll make the game micro transation heavy and P2W or gain power more quickly. Some sort of loot box system. gameplay looks fun but again it's an eastern dev. so we'll see

Odd to see bungie finally get some real competition and it is itself.... Like I am done with destiny 2, to many mistakes to go back. This oddly would make me want to even look at at destiny game again, mainly since its actually new content with ideas people have wanted. Destiny has always had multiple time lines? Alternate timelines is kind of the Vex’s whole stick.
This is a different company making it, hence the alternate timeline so they have more freedom and less communication between companies is needed.
