What can I say? An amazing national park. So beautiful and one of my favorites! It was a perfect day, even if it was a little cold and windy. A great day for a hike. I enjoyed every minute! Thank you, Tim. ❤
Good to see your videos again Tim. Went for a ride today along Angeles crest highway. Still has a portion closed from the fires. But was great to get up in the mountains on the motorcycle.
Great time walking along with your video. As usual your videos show experience, thank you. Have you seen the amount of Joshua Trees along I think is Highway 89 coming in from the west into Prescott? That is a nice ride also, even stopping by the memorial and tribute to the fire fighters. Keep exploring!
Great video. I miss the desert. Check out Palm Springs Aerial Tramway takes you to the top of Mt San Jacinto, 10,800 ft.You can day hike or back pack from there. Bring your bike too so you can ride Pines to Palms Hwy.
Tim if you ever want a easy and fun backpacking challenge for a couple nights in the backcountry of JTNP, give the California Riding and Hiking Trail a go. (Aka the CARHT) You start at Black Rock Canyon campground and end at the North Entrance Station backcountry board. I usually do it in three days and two nights. You need to cache water at strategic backcountry boards ahead of time via car drop off. You are allowed to leave jugs (I usually conceal them in the brush) as long as you label them with your name and dates. It is important you use only the clear plastic gallon jugs, such as crystal geyser etc, not the semi-opaque water jugs, and nothing soft-sided. This is to protect from rodents or coyotes getting into them. For some reason they avoid the shiny plastic. But it's easy! I usually cache at Geology Tour Road backcountry board and the one near Ryan Campground. There's just nothing like falling asleep out there in the backcountry miles from the loud noisy campgrounds, with only the loud noisy coyotes to sing you to sleep at night. But it can get windy so make sure you have extra line and tie-downs. It's best done with a comrade who can drive there also, and that way you run a car shuttle from one end to the other. Alternatively, as I've done many times, you can yo-yo the trail (hike back the way you came) but of course this means caching twice the amount of water for the return journey! Anyway, it's delightful to flee the crowds way out there, it's real special. Thanks for the tour of these JT trails! Edit to add: The CARHT is 37 miles from end to end. I've done it with only one night's rest before, but that was a butt-kicker.
Its funny that me and my family were just there last weekend as we live in the W Valley so its not too bad of a day trip. We werr able to enjoy some cool hikes before the weather changed and started raining. My kids loved scrambling on the jumbo rocks. We dis the Skull Rock loop & Arch Rock, some.of the trails weren't clearly marked at all, could be better, however we had a blast. Love thr content brother, appreciate you.
Hey Tim……..I’m the same way…travelled the US on my motorcycle……been there done that. When something gets routine, it’s time to find other things to be passionate about. I now leave the bike at home and have been back country fly fishing. I enjoyed your motorcycle channel. Now I’ll enjoy this one. Peace:)
Looks like an awesome place man. One of my bucket list parks. After all your travels, is Arizona still the place you want to live? Any place you would rather relocate to and why?
Beautiful. Thanks for taking me along.
Glad you enjoyed it
Well done Tim (as usual!). Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it

I consider Arizona home for sure but I wouldn’t mind spending a few years based in the Pacific Northwest and exploring for a while. Great question!
We used to have another name for Barker Dam.... because it looks like.... um.... something specific I shouldn't type here, from the right angle 🤣
