I don't think learning subjects in english is a problem for people who went to english medium schools from the get go(which is most of the population) because we learn english from the start. Heck most of us learned the English alphabet before the alphabets of our regional language. What I think makes people think we are good at maths is the sheer number of people in our country makes it so that even if a small percentage of the population is good at something it amounts to a LOT of people. And ofc the people who represent us outside of India are people who move out for work or other reasons are mostly people who are good at maths(as most people work in IT or other science-related fields)which is why they even make it out of the country in the first place.

That Indian girl really doesn't know math....my 10 year old brother solved this question in a minute. And 19 year old myself solved it in mere 14 secs. The answer is 20.
11*11=4 (11's square is 121=1+2+1=4) 22*22=16 (22's square is 484= 4+8+4= 16) 33*33= 18 ( 33's square is 1089=1+0+8+9= 18) We can solve a question by multiple methods and it can also give multiple answers
To all my Indian brothers There is no -0 or +0 A zero is always seen as zero (nonnegative number) So -0 +1 would be +1 and +0 +1 would also be +1. It has nothing to do with BODMAS
Bro I am Indian and ik it should be +1 not -1. People here are just confused. I have been taught since childhood that in this situation the sign of the bigger number is considered. Eg: -3+5=2
Indians do programming and know there are -0.0 and +0.0 in floating point numbers:) Or study history of computing, there was time when we used just sign bit an the rest was not inversed, so we had +0 and -0 for integers, too.
Our most strong weapon since childhood is that we Indians are taught "Mental Mathematics" as well, and also, no calculators allowed in schools, colleges and most importantly during exams! Which is why we're confident in calculation, at least the basic ones, no matter how huge, everyone is capable of.
Bro , technically you are right but wrong at the same time the question is to be done by carefully observing the pictures and not just simply applying the equations
Mathematics is a subject that a person must study for life, all technology we have, all rigorous sciences that make technology are based on mathematics and physics, mathematics and physics serve our world until our death.
Indian Maths student here 🧍🏻♀️ Yuki was actually going the right way! According to BODMAS rule, x=6-1×0+2÷2 x=6-1×0+1 x=6-0+1 x=6-1 x=5 As Indians, this rule is almost second nature to us when doing plain math, so i get her :p Edit: Good gracious, I started quite a war 😭 Alr so I thank the people who were civilized enough to be nice about it, and to those who weren't, you guys are the reason that many students are afraid to voice out their opinions from fear of being called dumb. I had clearly only ever said I was a student and that obviously means I am prone to making mistakes, in fact even professionals could make basic mistakes. I wasn't trying to hide myself or anything, but simply waiting for a school day so my teacher could correctly explain this to me. And I finally got it! To those who found the answer to be 5, here's the reason it's 7: The key lies with the sign before 0 here; (-0+1) was the operation taking place because the minus sign cannot be kept as is, and most of us who got 5 made a mistake there. So, -0+1=1 Therefore, 6+1=7 Not calling anyone dumb or anything. In fact, there's even people who got answers different from 5 and 7; the best thing to do is explain nicely, not criticise people harshly like some in the comments whom I'm not going bother gracing with a reply. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the explanations :))
Btw BODMAS rule is a rule we follow when doing plain math like that question; we follow the order of (Bracket Open), (Division), (Multiplication), (Addition) and (Subtraction).
@@sidk1210Addition and subtraction are in the same hierarchy. Because subtracting is the same as doing an addition with a negative number. So they should be solved in order from left to right, whichever comes first
Idk man, I've just been taught that way, it's what most Indians have done all their life. As I said, we have a particular rule we stick to when we solve these questions. And to answer your question, +1 became -1 because addition comes before subtraction in the BODMAS rule, the plus sign was used in the operation with 0 (0+1=1) and the (6-) was joined with (1) so we got (6-1=5).
@@sidk1210 I know. The same order is taught everywhere in the world, maths is a universal language. But the acronym confuses people. It should be written as BO(DM)(AS) since multiplication and division share hierarchy and so do addition and subtraction. Frist you do BO, then DM together left to right and then AS together also left to right
The second one was easy the question its self is the answer like there says 11 x 11=4 because if you put that 11 into 1+1 it says two now plus that then move on the second it is 16 because it was added by the last answer now get 2+2=4 now plus it to 2 6 ok now plus 6 with 4 then plus them 10 now again add the last number you got 6 now again plus them there you got 16 like that i only a college student never learnt these but my mom told me its the trick
For the BODMAS question, Left to Right is the key. we unconsciously make brackets when we do 6-0+1 so some got 5 but if from L>R, you do subtract first then addition, so 6-0=6, then 6+1=7. but when that Japan girl pointed the Indian girl, I got sad. Indian girl is actually a peacelover, Love that quality she is representing...
People seem to forget that division and multiplication are in essence the same kind of operation. Some people learn PEDMAS, and others learn PEMDAS. The most important parts of PEDMAS/BODMAS are to do parentheses first, then expressions/exponent, then division/multiplication, then addition/subtraction. E.g. when you divide a number by 7, you are in essence multiplying it by (1/7), so whether you do multiplication or division first doesn’t matter. You will arrive to the same result, as long as you do P&E before, and A&S after.
Math is the language of universe and Universe doesn't work without rules . Here in some question , people are just adding and substracting without any sign mention and that whistle size in the first question ( literally this is math 😄).
Dear giggle .. second question can be solved in one more way : 11*11=121 let's add 1+2+1=4 22*22=484=4+8+4=16 So 33*33=1089=1+0+8+9=18.. this sounds more accurate also.
Yuki was correct while using BODMAS the only mistake is that she didn't subtracted 1 from 6 and multiplied it by 0 which will be 0 then further add 1 so the answer will be 1 ......
My math is very weak but this is a really easy question... because this is all related reasoning and logical thinking based questions and Bodmas. Now in India, elementary schools teach reasoning to students to improve their logical thinking.
For the second question there is another strategy like 11*11=121 =1+2+1=4 22*22=484=4+8+4=16 Similarly for 33*33=1089 answer either be 10+8+9=27 or 1+0+8+9=18....

you forgot to write some other important topics like Calculus ( including Vector calculus), Numerical methods, Fourier series, Probability and Statistics and many more.
( Don't show-off here there are many more brilliant persons are watching. watch only 4 entertainment purpose )
Okay, so for that 11 x 11 = 4;
We can write 11^2 = 2^2;
Next, 22 x 22 =16 is 11^2 x 2^2 = 2^2 x 2^2;
Forming an a logical equation, 11^2 x n^2 = 2^2 x n^2; //applies for 1st equation too as 11^2 x 1^1 = 2^2 x 1^1 where n=1 and same can be applied when n=2 in 2nd equation.
Same basis 3rd equation is 11^2 x 3^2 = 2^2 x 3^2 = 36;

This rule is known as BODMAS( Brackets, Of, Division, Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction)
As an INDIAN 🇮🇳😅
I jate maths but in our class so many of my classmates are intelligent 🤓🧠
I think this is what the Indian girl did : (maybe)
following bodmas, addition first then subtraction right?
So when she got to =6-0+1 she did the addition first : 0+1=1 then the subtraction 6-1=5
🤷🏻♀️
the second problem is also not entirely right..
the american girl has this idea..
11x11=121, futhermore 1+2+1=4
22x22=484, then 4+8+4=16
33x33=1089, soo.. it can also be 1+0+8+9=18
well i guess the host aint good at math either😂
She didn't thought that way she was thinking 2x2 x 2x2= 16
1x1 x 1x1 = 4 that's why they said it will be 1 not 4.
then she should've explained it.
We have similar thinking capabilities

@yuktatyagiofficial Nice to see your reply, 😊 but an "A" graduate doesn't mean you are an all-rounder in all subjects, and that's normal. No one will be. She may be intelligent,This could be possible, so I am not ruling it out.😊👍but when it comes to NASA, the first mindset people have is that the kids are going to be good at science and math. when she points out that they don't know Pythagoras, which 7th and 8th grader knows it? mathematics standards can not even be compared with NASA employees because it was not that the questions were of high level. It was just an easy level of aptitude questions, which is the basic for every general competitive exam. found it roasting because she said NASA didn't know. not commenting anything about anyone, because everyone has their own interest in subjects, and they are good at that, but I found the NASA thing hilarious 😁👍😊😅

Shoe was 10 , Human was 5 , Whistle was 4
There was question like
👞 + 👨🦰 × half whistle
So the answer
Would be
10+ 5 ×2
10+ 10 = 20 According to Bodmas rule
Not sixteen
Exactly!!!! I don't know where they got 16 as an answer
@kedd01 human emoticon was also wearing a whistle around his neck in above patterns but not in the last one .
so , you have to cut the value of one whistle i.e. 2 from the value of person i.e. 5
Then it'll be 10 +(5-2)x2
= 10+3x2
=10x6
=16

And 19 year old myself solved it in mere 14 secs.

indian-american here, this kind of math is SO much easier than calculus for me lol
It was more like an IQ test than some mathematics one
11*11=4 (11's square is 121=1+2+1=4)
22*22=16 (22's square is 484= 4+8+4= 16)
33*33= 18 ( 33's square is 1089=1+0+8+9= 18)
We can solve a question by multiple methods and it can also give multiple answers
I think you guys need to understand what mathematics really is.😂
8:52 she's just doing right maybe she got confused or nervous
To all my Indian brothers
There is no -0 or +0
A zero is always seen as zero (nonnegative number)
So -0 +1 would be +1 and +0 +1 would also be +1.
It has nothing to do with BODMAS
Bro I am Indian and ik it should be +1 not -1. People here are just confused.
I have been taught since childhood that in this situation the sign of the bigger number is considered.
Eg: -3+5=2
Indians do programming and know there are -0.0 and +0.0 in floating point numbers:)
Or study history of computing, there was time when we used just sign bit an the rest was not inversed, so we had +0 and -0 for integers, too.
Q1 2:24
Q2 5:49
Q3 7:31
Q4 11:30
You can't base a country's math skills with only a few random girls from their own countries.
All these questions were so simple

As a indian i solved all the questions in my mind 😅
Wait yukt ,your correct with the bodmas rule .Have confidence and go on you ,can do it girl.
she would get the same answer 7 even if she went with the BODMAS rule
Our most strong weapon since childhood is that we Indians are taught "Mental Mathematics" as well, and also, no calculators allowed in schools, colleges and most importantly during exams!
Which is why we're confident in calculation, at least the basic ones, no matter how huge, everyone is capable of.
First answer is 30
x+x+x =30
3x=30
x=10
Now second equation
x+y+y=20
10+2y=20
Y=5
y+z+z=13
5+2z=13
Z=4
Now last,
x+y×z
=10+5*4
=10+20
=30
From India
Bro , technically you are right but wrong at the same time the question is to be done by carefully observing the pictures and not just simply applying the equations
16 is the right answer of this question
Cannot blame you though I also did the same thing but after listening to the answer I again tried
Mathematics is a subject that a person must study for life, all technology we have, all rigorous sciences that make technology are based on mathematics and physics, mathematics and physics serve our world until our death.

Indian Maths student here 🧍🏻♀️
Yuki was actually going the right way!
According to BODMAS rule,
x=6-1×0+2÷2
x=6-1×0+1
x=6-0+1
x=6-1
x=5
As Indians, this rule is almost second nature to us when doing plain math, so i get her :p
Edit: Good gracious, I started quite a war 😭
Alr so I thank the people who were civilized enough to be nice about it, and to those who weren't, you guys are the reason that many students are afraid to voice out their opinions from fear of being called dumb. I had clearly only ever said I was a student and that obviously means I am prone to making mistakes, in fact even professionals could make basic mistakes.
I wasn't trying to hide myself or anything, but simply waiting for a school day so my teacher could correctly explain this to me. And I finally got it! To those who found the answer to be 5, here's the reason it's 7:
The key lies with the sign before 0 here;
(-0+1) was the operation taking place because the minus sign cannot be kept as is, and most of us who got 5 made a mistake there.
So, -0+1=1
Therefore, 6+1=7
Not calling anyone dumb or anything.
Why did +1 suddenly become -1?
If you have 6, subtract 0 from it and then add 1, it's the same as saying 6+1. Which is 7
@@sidk1210Addition and subtraction are in the same hierarchy.
Frist you do BO, then DM together left to right and then AS together also left to right
I feel like this was really fun for some of them

@@zzanghuiyou are smart
The second one was easy the question its self is the answer like there says 11 x 11=4 because if you put that 11 into 1+1 it says two now plus that then move on the second it is 16 because it was added by the last answer now get 2+2=4 now plus it to 2 6 ok now plus 6 with 4 then plus them 10 now again add the last number you got 6 now again plus them there you got 16 like that i only a college student never learnt these but my mom told me its the trick
No matter which Asian country, when we got low scores in maths exam, we know our moms are waiting to kill us in home 😂
They made the warm up question look so complicated in algebra and here all I got the answer by looking and calculating 😂
That whistle being in pairs pissed me off.
Nah! This ain't maths dude. Just one maths question and rest were testing their aptitude and logical reasoning. But extremely fun.
Even a small Kid in India can do all these questions in a very less time.
Math is the language of universe and Universe doesn't work without rules . Here in some question , people are just adding and substracting without any sign mention and that whistle size in the first question ( literally this is math 😄).
Dear giggle .. second question can be solved in one more way : 11*11=121 let's add 1+2+1=4
22*22=484=4+8+4=16
So 33*33=1089=1+0+8+9=18.. this sounds more accurate also.
Yuki was correct while using BODMAS the only mistake is that she didn't subtracted 1 from 6 and multiplied it by 0 which will be 0 then further add 1 so the answer will be 1 ......
The answer of 1st question is 30... indian students learned this maths from class 4th
